We came to town for the weekend and decided to give Susan's a try for breakfast Saturday morning. Even at 10:00AM, they were still packed. We had a little wait, but they have a quick turnover, so we got a table very quick. The service gets you in, takes your order, serves you, and gets you out. It's a well-oiled machine. If you want home-style, southern food then this is a great option. My cousin was raving about the pork roast; the chicken-fried chicken was perfectly crunchy and well-seasoned; and my chicken sandwich was good too. The chicken breast was perfectly browned, the bun looked and tasted homemade and the toppings were abundant - fresh, green leaf lettuce, two nice thick slices of red tomato and a generous helping of perfectly ripe avocado. I was even pleasantly surprised to see that they serve real butter. My only complaint was that the interior seemed gloomy; clean, but gloomy. read more

Delicious every time! There's always a wait because they are so popular.. but once you're seated, the service is fast and the food is fantastic. We've tried so many different things on the menu now. The only thing I wish they had is more than just a black pot of coffee that you add cream and sugar to. I would love to see them start offering cappuccino or lattes! But it's more of a "mama's home cooking" kind of place so I'm sure they aren't going to do that! Still, it's absolutely wonderful breakfast and lunch food. read more

Heard so many great things about Susan's so when my mom was in town we decided to do breakfast. Wait time was not bad, and was expected, but I think I know now why they could turn over tables fast. Servers and staff were very friendly and responsive. Rico was very good. Coffee was hot and never empty. That was what was good. The food, bleh. It was barely lukewarm. Gravy was almost congealed (but decent flavor). The eggs were cooked right but obviously were old. Besides being cold they were rubbery. I had the chicken fried steak, it was not bad. The hash browns were the worst, besides being cold they tasted weird. Like either old oil or re-warmed. The food came out fast, which normally is not a bad thing but when it comes out fast because not made to order and sitting around? I would rather wait a bit longer It got two stars because of service. The only thing I was able to finish was the fruit bowl. Get the fruit bowl. But skip everything else read more

Holy crap, this place is popular. Showed up on a Saturday morning and 1) had to fight for a parking spot and 2) had to wait 15 minutes before we got a seat. Tried one of the omelets with grits. Very good. Once you get seated, the service is fast. Fast to order, fast to get he food and then fast to get the bill. They have this down. Susan's is a Springdale institution.
