Best savory waffle I've ever had. This restaurant was an amazing surprise. I went expecting to order regular waffles with fruit (which look delicious btw), but couldn't pass up the Wake Up savory waffle. The creamy roja sauce that came with it was such a great addition with just the right amount of salt needed. The waffle was made up of hash browns, eggs, and an assortment of meat. It was so filling. Great choice for breakfast this beautiful day in Springdale. As of today they still ask for masks until served.

We went on Sunday around 1030am. Restaurant is very simple and cozy. Most of tables were occupied but there are a bunch of smaller tables were available. We ordered drip coffee, the mailman, Nutella waffle with side of bacon and verde waffle. Everything came out perfect and cooked beautifully. Very friendly staff too! We will definitely come back.

This little place is truly a hole in the wall and an out of the way gem. I did a search in Yelp for "healthy food restaurant" and this was the closest one to me. If not for Yelp I would have never found this place. I ordered the Fall Break Salad and took this picture of it. It was absolutely wonderful! The two Hispanic ladies running the place were very kind and conversational. The inside of the restaurant is very casual and does not seem like good dining, but the food could be served in a fine dining restaurant. I highly recommend.

This place is delicious! I've never really ordered a savory waffle before but it was fantastic. It's also very cute inside. They have all kinds of trinkets you can buy. Counter service but very friendly. Definitely eating here again while I'm working in town. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise to find! Want to grab a breakfast but want a healthier option? This place is for you! I ordered The Grinch smoothie - spinach, mango, orange juice and more. It was blended fresh and tasted so good. Not too sweet or bitter. Definitely recommend! I ordered the Verde waffle. A delicious and fun way to get your veggies! The base of the waffle is hash brown with egg with veggies. Topped with sliced avocado served with a side of herb dressing. So good!!! The total meal cost me $15 and some change. Very affordable meal for the quality of ingredients and type of food. I will be back! read more

This place is a hidden gem! Decided to check it out for lunch and went with the soup- Chili and sandwich - Ay! Chipotle. Both were delicious! The sandwich awesome and as a bonus pressed panini style but using a waffle iron and the chili was very well done, not to spicy. Finished everything off with the chocolate peanut butter smoothie and was quite satisfied. Really great to have some local places like this- everyone should check them out! read more

This place is SPECIAL! They have an exquisite unique twist on waffles that you absolutely must try! If your a foodie then this place is for you. I started with the açaí bowl, a hot cup of coffee, and a mixed berry smoothie. The smoothie was mixed to perfection! And the açaí bowl was the best I've ever had in Arkansas. Then I got the strawberries and cream waffle, AND the verde waffle (to go) the waffle....CHEFs KISS* was the perfect balance of sweet, and airy. These two sisters have an incredible story on how they got started, a TRUE pull yourself up by the bootstraps grit that only adds to bites and bowls flavor! We went here for a late breakfast on a Saturday. It was very delicious and fresh. Everything was made to order and was quickly prepared and served hot. I love the concept. It's in a strip mall without great visibility, but it's worth searching for. I hope they continue to do well. Give it a try! read more

This place is unassuming from the outside in an out-of-the-way shopping center, but has THE MOST DELICIOUS waffle concoctions on the planet. We went for lunch on a whim one day. I had a strawberry spinach salad and my wife has a meat lovers waffle. My salad was tasty and well portioned. That waffle was Everything. It's not a traditional waffle by any means but what it lacks in tradition, it makes up for in delicious, delicious flavor. We came back a second time and split the meat lovers waffle (too good not to have again) and the berry waffle. The berry waffle was a traditional Belgian with sweet lechera and a generous portion of strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. I highly recommend splitting a savory and a sweet. It's just the right amount of both. A family run GEM in East Springdale. Absolutely worth the drive. read more

Most of the other ones are dark, stuffy, and uninviting. This one is light and open. However, this mean that the place will not be very private. You can hear a lot of conversations from other tables, even from a few tables away. So I definitely would not try to have any kind of private meeting in this place. This store has more of a coffee shop vibe. As for the food: it's classic sandwich, soup, and salad food. It's good, but won't knock your socks off. Pastries are yummy. I think they're made in-house. Everything seems a bit overpriced, but that may just be the economy we currently live in. So, I won't be able to come back very often because of the prices. But I will come back on occasion. As for the staff: they were very friendly, very helpful, and were accommodating with various needs we had. I also noticed that they were friendly toward other customers as well. I only have one complaint. The place wasn't super clean. The drink bar was pretty messy. Tables needed to be wiped off. And the bathroom entrance (not the bathroom itself) smelled like BO (strong!!). Probably could be fixed with an automatic air freshener. Overall it was a good experience. I will return. And I recommend the place. First impressions were a bit mixed. The restaurant was quiet, but the floors were noticeably dirty, and the restrooms were just okay. Nothing outrageously bad, but definitely not as clean as I would expect for such a slow night. The service was probably the biggest disappointment. Our server wasn't rude, but she wasn't particularly welcoming either. She took our order, dropped off the food, and brought the check without ever really checking back in. There were only three occupied tables in the restaurant with three servers working, so it wasn't like they were overwhelmed. One thing that really stood out was that every employee in the dining room except the bartender had headphones either in their ears or hanging around their necks. It gave the impression that customer service wasn't much of a priority. I started by ordering a sweet tea, only to be told they don't have it because they brew their tea in-house and "can't add sugar." That explanation seemed a little odd. I switched to a Coke instead, which turned out to be one of the flattest fountain drinks I've had in a long time. After a few sips, I gave up and just drank water. Now for the part that really matters: the food. We ordered the Kids Rookie grilled cheese and the Big Dog from the kids' menu, along with the Cheebacca and the Brie's Company. We also couldn't leave without trying the Blueberry Grilled Cheese for dessert. The only real miss on the food side was the chips. They were stale, cold, and almost rubbery. Honestly, they were some of the worst house chips you could possibly have. The sandwiches deserve a much better side, or they'd honestly be better off taking the chips off the menu altogether. The kids' meals were an incredible value at only $5 each. My 5-year-old couldn't decide between a grilled cheese and a hot dog, so he got both. The Big Dog was excellent--hot, juicy, and grilled just long enough to get those perfect char marks. The Rookie was exactly what you'd want for a picky eater: simple, cheesy, and well made. The Cheebacca ($12) was packed with sharp white cheddar, house cheese, bacon, pulled pork, grilled onions, and a garlic cilantro sauce on sourdough. Every ingredient complemented the next, and nothing overpowered the sandwich. Easily one I'd order again. The Brie's Company ($12) was the surprise of the meal. Grilled apples, Brie, Gouda, caramelized onions, and fig jam on sourdough sounded adventurous, but it absolutely worked. Sweet, savory, rich, and balanced all at once. If you're willing to step outside the traditional grilled cheese, this one is worth trying. Then came dessert. The Blueberry Grilled Cheese ($7.25) combines mascarpone, cream cheese, fresh blueberries, and honey between slices of grilled pound cake. It sounds unusual, but somehow it's fantastic. It's one of those desserts that makes you question why you've never had it before. Awkwardly delicious in the best possible way, and absolutely worth ordering. Overall, Hammontree's is a place where the kitchen is doing almost everything right while the front of house leaves quite a bit to be desired. Cleaner dining areas, better service, and replacing those terrible chips would easily push this into 4 star territory. As it stands, the food absolutely lives up to the hype, but the overall experience holds it back. If you're passing through Fayetteville, it's still worth stopping in. Just skip the chips, order one of the specialty grilled cheeses, and don't leave without trying the dessert.
