The guy at the counter was very helpful and was telling us how this coffee shop was voted the number 1 coffee shop in the world. My friend Te-see B loved her coffee she got. We sat outside on the tables they have and really enjoyed the company. They serve some great looking sandwiches here as well. I'll be back to try them soon. Downtown Springdale has become very popular and a little bougie too...it felt very much like areas in LA. Formerly a bank, the interior is huge with high ceilings, lots of space to sit at and even a few comfy couches in the front. I ordered their vanilla cold brew with oat milk & light ice. Stunning. A beautiful store in a beautiful small town downtown that's been/being revived. This facility is modern, yet traditional. It's exceptionally comfortable and shiny clean. It's family-friendly, as well as providing peace and quiet for those seeking that. Pastries are excellent. Ice cream is excellent. Coffee is superb (and that's from someone visiting from Seattle) and world-class. And downstairs is the production center for Onyx's Terroir world-class chocolate brand, producer of award-winning chocolate by the mind and palate that was the driving force and the cofounder behind Markham and Fitz before joining Onyx. Be sure to check that facility out downstairs when you visit and have a taste of the amazing chocolates (and probably a bit of chocolate learning while you're there). Disappointed by Onyx. Do not get the yogurt bowl. It had a total of 7 disgusting looking strawberries and weird powder that was not on the description (0/5). I had high hopes for the sweet potato casserole croissant, but it was also mediocre. Lacked flavor and filling. (2.5/5) Latte was good, but way too milky. Couldn't taste the coffee, but the syrup was good (2/5). The ambiance here is great, would be a good spot to work from home. Service was just fine. read more

probably would lean more towards a 3.5 because their coffee isn't the best, it was mostly milk not enough actual coffee. The muffin was also different almost like a cookie, that was new for me! The tea was really good and I would give a 4 if it wasn't for the coffee. Really really cool place too, it's more of a modern coffee shop but they did it well. An Onyx in downtown Springdale is exactly what Emma Avenue needed! They have been revamping this part of downtown and the addition of this Onyx is sure to bring even more people down here. I came in the morning so did not get to try their cocktails or ice cream but love that those are options here; they are now doing so much more than just coffee. This location is an old bank and Onyx redesigned it to make such a cool use of the space while still preserving the overall layout and architecture. The upstairs is a designated work space where no phones are allowed, the main floor is the coffee shop, and the basement is a shop and their chocolate factory! It honestly feels like Onyx has thought of everything. Not only is their coffee delicious, but they are on the cutting edge of everything a trendy coffee shop should have. They have an "onyx honor bar" where you can fill a cup of their house coffee and tap to pay without waiting in line. Their iced teas come with free refills. They have a case full of delicious pastries and chocolates to choose from. They have a walk-up window for ice cream, so you don't even have to go inside and wait in the same line as those wanting coffee. You can see the chocolate factory downstairs in the old bank vault and the staff can tell you which chocolates pair best with which of their coffees. The shop downstairs is all tap-and-go, allowing you to get what you need without waiting for someone to come help you. I got a hot Onyx Delight which is a staple on their menu that is hard to pass up; it is a signature latte with vanilla, cinnamon, and honey that is made perfectly every time. Glass brick walls and leather couches really give it a sleek look. As for the coffee I was sadly unimpressed. We waited a really long time to order and then even longer for our drinks. The lattes were very light and more milk than I'm used to. The Carmel was chunky and gritty in the latte I ordered as well. read more

Horrible service! I have ordered a black coffee with heavy cream a 100 times at Onyx in Springdale and it's never been a problem but today I went there and the lazy idiot behind the counter said we don't do that anymore. I said don't do what put cream in coffee. She said not heavy cream. I asked why the change and she said because it's 10 feet away in the kitchen. I said what does that have to do with anything? She seem to not comprehend anything I was saying. I said then why did you let me order it charge me and get a good tip before you brought it out and said sorry no heavy cream for you??? Hubby found this spot on Tik tok and I was skeptical at first but I'm so glad we went in. I ordered the onyx delight hot and it was the most wonderful cup of coffee I've had in a long time. The ambience is really modern and there is a ton of seating. Downstairs they have a chocolate space and do chocolate tasting. We didn't have time to try it but it smelled so incredible I may stop and try on my way back! We ordered our food to go and it was served quickly and smelling amazing. What a wonderful place for food, coffee, chocolate & edible gifts! I need one of these places in Tulsa! We stopped in for coffee and had so much more. We had avocado toast, the club sandwich, a cortado and a green/black tea blend. Food was so flavorful and the dipping sauce that came with the club was delicious. Stu, the Director of Chocolate, shared the history of Onyx Coffee Lab, educated us on the in-house chocolate making process, and let us sample various chocolates that he personally made. We, purchased chocolate and coffee beans for ourselves and as gifts for family and friends. Anytime I'm in Arkansas, I'll make it a point to visit. I wanted to like this place and I have given it a few tries in the hopes of it improving but this last time I have decided that was the last time. The building itself is very pretty and I think they did a great job creating a calming atmosphere but the coffee and snacks I've had there I don't believe are anything worth talking about. It's a bit pricey for me and I have had better options for a better price. This last time I went the girl taking my order was so unfriendly and rude. I couldn't tell if it was because of me though I did not do anything or if she was having a bad day. I was so taken back by how she was talking to me and acting towards me that I seriously considered telling her to not worry about taking the order so I could go but I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. I understand there can be rough days in that business but I would have never taken it out on someone else especially when they have had nothing to do with it. Specially, the orange roll, my partner had a hard time chewing the hard bacon and couldn't finish the sandwich.
