Super welcoming and friendly as we navigated the menu. We had the Dagwood sandwich and the Chicken Katsu Sandwich- both with fries. Be warned- these sandwiches are HUGE. We could have split one and likely still taken home leftovers. These maybe the best sandwiches I've eaten in a long time. This place is a mess. Four of us were visiting and a local friend recommended this place. She beat us there and got on the list. However, once the host told us it was our turn, we were just sent to a counter register which had no line and one person working. The person led us to a table on the patio and said he would be back to clean it. He never came back. We sat down and our local friend said they usually come to the table with menus and take orders. However, after we waited a long time, people at other tables told us we had to order at the counter. When we got in, there was a really long line. That was unfortunate because we could have just ordered before we were seated. I still am unsure why there is even a waitlist if there is no actual table service. We ordered our food and when we got back to the table, there was a carafe of water and some cups, but we had to get more. A child holding a glass cup of water nearby dropped it, and glass flew all over us and our table. That was fun. Then the cashier came out and told me what I ordered was no longer available. I quickly had to order something else, and of course it was cheaper than what I ordered and I was not offered the difference in cost. I got the Thai beef salad which was soaked in salty fish sauce dressing, had sliced pickles, and barely cooked beef. The whole meal was very expensive. I did enjoy my matcha latte (which I understand is the same as Onyx Coffee Lab), but otherwise this is a very overpriced and poorly organized restaurant, not worth the time, money, lack of service, or the fact that the relatively small menu had items unavailable, and that was not marked as "sold out" when ordering either. read more

Yay!! I finally got to check this place out and it was amazing and worth the hype. We went Wednesday morning about 9:00 and did not have to wait for a table. The place is beautiful. Decorated with earth tones and light green I felt comfortable the moment I walked in. After several suggestions from the gentleman taking orders I settled on a favorite, smoked salmon toast. It was fresh and excellent. They serve coffee from Onyx so the black sesame latte it was. I get it now. This place is awesome and a great addition to the NWA food scene. read more

The food was good (minus the soggy chips) but the service/set up was atrocious. We're from out of town but we're with a local, 5 total. We checked in and were seated at a table, but given no menus or explanation that we were expected to back inside and order at the counter. I went in and the people in front of us took forever, and a massive line formed behind me, so I grabbed the rest of my group to order. Very confusing and slow. Also they gave a kid near us a drink in a glass and of course he knocked it onto the concrete patio and it shattered, and glass even hit the people we were with. This is a wonderful space in a beautiful buiiilding, with plenty of comfortable seating inside and out, in a location with a nice view. The staff are very friendly and courteous, and it's a really nice place to sit and relax for a while. The PM menu was a bit "aloof" for our tastes, but there were a few attractive choices. We weren't looking for a meal, so we had some hummus, which was good, and came with carrot and celery sticks and red pepper slices that were fresh and excellent. Decor is beautiful , food is unique, weird bathrooms. I think the ordering process is odd. With the unique menu, I think it makes more sense to be seated and have time to review the menu, ask questions versus the bottle necking at the hostess stand while you decide and order at the register. It takes away from the charm a bit. The menu changes often so be aware that what you got previously may not still be listed, the staff is very helpful if you have questions. I had the FOMO and the Simple, I think I'd swap out both for different options just because they weren't 10/10 and the prices are steep. I think next time I'd order that Korean bbq chicken and waffles. I want to add that once you sit down, if you decide to add items, they will bring a tablet to order and pay out so it'll save you from going back to the register, really appreciate that option. read more

We brought my in-laws here while they visited from Portland. They were huge fans of the atmosphere and trendy culture of the cafe. Service was extremely friendly, food was delicious, and the menu had a lot of unique selections. We had the Bakers Breakfast, the salad, and bulgogi sandwich. I am not a big brunch person, so when I tell you I had an amazing brunch here that really says something. The menu had a large number of options for both more traditional breakfast foods, all with thoughtful preparation, and then some lunch items which is what we ordered. After seeing the muffuletta at another table, we decided we absolutely had to share that and a seasonal salad. Both were just exceptional, as was my Aperol spritz, definitely the fully leaded version! As it was a birthday brunch, we did treat ourselves to something from the bakery case, a cross between carrot cake and a breakfast roll with a big pile of fluffy cream cheese icing on top. Fantastic, and great fussy coffee drinks also. The only surprising thing is that you order at the counter and they run the food to you. I am usually a little turned off by this and prefer table service, but honestly the servers here were so helpful and upbeat, service was efficient (tap to pay!) and prompt as was the food delivery to your table. It is beautiful relaxed surroundings and your table is well attended to, so I honestly did not feel like I was missing out by not having a dedicated server. Things run more efficiently like this; The trick is to do so in a manner that the guest doesn't feel like they are at a fast food establishment, and they certainly managed to do that here. A group of four of us came in to order coffee to-go. No food, just four coffees. We waiting roughly 30 minutes, and finally a waitress came to tell us she noticed we'd been waiting awhile. Great observation. We then had to go up to the counter because we noticed four drinks that looked like they could be ours. They had sat there about 8 minutes at this point (and yes, they were ours... just sitting there waiting for us to notice organically I guess?)Once we tried our coffees, one was pretty good, and the other three were just not even remotely good. Those three were thrown out after a few sips. I will absolutely never be back to this place ever again, which is really disappointing because the space is super cool and very well maintained. HFWM, what a pocket of bliss. Located in up-and-coming Johnson, just outside Fayetteville, this cafe paints a picture of what the Midwest is capable of. Saturday brunch appealed to our party of 3, and we made reservations, but it somehow wasn't busy enough to necessarily warrant that. The staff were excellent, engaging, and kind, and service was prompt. After arriving at our cutesy table with strangely ergonomic fabric chairs, we started with a round of unique caffeinated drinks. Terracotta Latte, Sea Foam, and Me So Vanilla Latte. All perfectly executed and in our hands quickly. HFWM is a product of the famous Onyx Coffee, another local legend, so naturally their morning drink selections would be pristine. The food also came quickly, in the form of Rage Against The Muffaletta, the yogurt & granola, and Chilaquiles. Everything was delightfully presented, especially their instagrammable granola. And the flowery pickle spear atop the focaccia of the muffaletta was the most beautiful dressing of a pickle I've seen. That dish in particular feature a heavy dose of bread, perhaps instigating the ensuing nap afterwards, but that also made it one of the bigger quantity plates they offer. The ambience is akin to the primary Onyx Coffee location, featuring unique wood finishes, soft pastel colors, and very unique seating. There are plenty of plants, from the tree inside the front entrance to the hanging features throughout. And the main dining area is heavily green, but not in an annoying over abundance. It's a soft, pleasing atmosphere, perfect to meet friends and family, or to simply sit with yourself to enjoy a unique beverage and bite. If you do opt to work or read, the WiFi is exceptional, especially in the download department's triple figure. Lighting is bright and welcoming, and there was no overcompensation in conversation due to music or otherwise. In fact, I can't recall the existence of music. So it must've been faint. We left satisfied, senses appeased, and eager to bring others. Easily a 5 star experience all around, though my muffaletta was maybe a 4. Visiting Onyx (in Rogers) and HFWM in a day would surely be a dynamic duo to contrast the sister establishments. At least that's my plan! read more

I have been in some pretty unique restaurants but this one climbed its way to the top of that list. I'm not sure on why they did what they did to the inside but somehow it all works. Pastel mint color for the main seating area, unique railing to separate the middle area, greenery, curves, a large covered patio and more are what you should expect as far as the look of this place goes. The menu is just as unique and wild as the inside. I wanted to try so many things! They have wonderful looking pastries, brunch, dinner and drink options available. As much as I loved everything about this restaurant, I did not enjoy my chicken and waffles as much as I thought I would. The chicken did come off the bone surprisingly easy but was dry. It wasn't enough to fill me up either but luckily for me, others at our table needed help finishing their dish. My favorite that we ordered was the Rage Against The Muffalatta. Holy cow! read more
