IDK what has happened to the Rolling Pin. Used to be so great. Today the service sucked. Took the waitress minutes to decide to wait on us. I ordered a sausage rolling pin NO Cheese. My husband ordered a sirloin, eggs, hashbrowns, and he wanted toast and gravy instead of biscuit and gravy. She said toast would be $0.90 more. He said forget it. When we got our food, I had a bicuit cut in half with an egg and whole sausage patty, covered in cheese and gravy. I looked at her and said this has cheese. She goes oh, you wanted no cheese. Then she goes I guess I misheard and thought you said with cheese. It comes with cheese why would I aske for it. Took another 10 minutes to bring me another plate, the biscuit was hard and dry like a hockey puck, the gravy was so watery it could hardly be called gravy, it was TERRIBLE. Won't be going back. They used to be SO good. read more

We were a party of two, waited over an hour to be served while 3 or more parties of OVER 4 people came in and were served before us. 45 minutes into the wait a different server came and asked what our order was again AFTER we had already been waiting for our food for 45 minutes. 30 minutes after that we finally got our food and some how some way it was cold... we were going to get pie but were so disappointed with the service and didn't want to risk being there until the sun went down. Highly discourage dining here you will regret it very much unless your the cooks long lost cousin you might get service faster. read more

I stopped here because I'd read the reviews and it was really good. I got the hash brown casserole because of the reviews and I wish I hadn't because they are not hash browns but big chunks of potatoes and for me that's a no. I had my biscuit split and two types of gravy put on each half. Both of the graves were bomb. I got the sausage gravy and the chocolate gravy and both were awesome. My wife saw Rolling Pen Cafe on the internet and saw that they have great pies. We drove from Garfield, AR. to the cafe on 7/3/25 only to find it closed for vacation. There was no notice on their website about them being on vacation. So sad! So I decided this morning, 7/10/25, to drive back over and pick up one of their great pies. When I arrived, I requested a peach pie to go and was told I could NOT buy a whole pie without a days notice. Their pies are $2.75 per slice. So I asked how many slices were in a pie. They advised 8 pieces. Which would make the pie $22.00. So I asked if I could buy 8 slices of Peach pie? I would have never guessed in a MILLION years what their answer would be... NO! One would think this cafe was in the business to sell pies. I've never heard of anything so ridiculous!!! I was then told I could buy 2 or 3 pieces. What if I have a wife and 2 or 3 kids...I guess the kids can't have pie? Come on people!!!! If you're in the business to sell pies, sell the damn pies. Amazing- waitress Paige was great on task yet friendly! Great service & had a steady stream of peeps thru the whole time we were there! The early opening time at six o'clock is very welcome for early morning cravings or sleepless nights. One seats themselves upon walking in. I sat at the front breakfast bar. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a two piece french toast, grits and toast, and a mug of coffee. The coffee was very delicious, and a bowl of creamer packets/spread was offered on the side. The french toast was cut into triangles and dusted with powdered sugar. There was no maple syrup served on the toast, but there were maple syrup bottles provided at each of the tables/sitting areas. The french toast tasted like french toast-- not particularly amazing, but not bad either. I was offered grits in either a huge or small bowl. I opted for the small. Coming with the grits was a few slices of plain buttered toast, with an offer for any jelly/jam/dippings on the side. Very delicious. Grits had no flavoring, but were nevertheless very hot and delicious. It's a decent early-breakfast place. Not bad at all! read more

Great down home comfort food! Unassuming location, family friendly, friendly service, and great food. This was our first time, and it was hard to decide what to get. My wife got the chicken fried steak platter with an egg and hash brown casserole, and I got the fried pork chop platter with two eggs and hash browns. We also got a Rolling Pin (bacon) to go for our sleeping college student. Hope to make it back next time we are in town. Love the John Wayne theme! read more

We had a nice morning breakfast at rolling pin. Our daughters were excited to try this place out. I will start out with a warning that this place is NOT gluten free friendly, nor do they have many allergy friendly options.... so if you are celiac or sensitive to wheat products I would not recommend this place. That being said I did choose to eat the cheese omelet and grits and have some coffee. More on that later ;-). Rolling Pin is a place locals of Fayetteville love. It has a small diner feel and seems like a place people visit frequently. My daughter had the rolling pin which was sausage gravy over an open face biscuit with eggs and bacon, my other daughter had the French toast. My husband had the cinnamon roll. All three enjoyed their breakfast and would go back again. I had the cheese omelet with grits. The portion size was large and we all left filling full. The cheese omelet was ok. The eggs were flat and the cheese was just a normal cheddar. The grits were not what this southern Acadian girl is used to at all. I was able to season them up on my own thanks to some butter, salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce which was good but essentially it tasted like they just cooked them in water with no seasoning. I might suggest they add some cream, butter, salt and pepper to bring their grits to life, stirring in between to give them a creamy texture. If you visit I would say stick with their biscuits and gravy, french toast, cinnamon roll the things they seem to be know for and everyone raves about. I am sure we will be back as my family truly did enjoy it.... I however will most likely just order coffee to be safe given my predicament with Celiac . read more

The last two times I was there I was alone and sat at the counter and waited more that 45 minutes for eggs and toast that never came----so I walked out----- Another problem is that people who are popular with the owner will be served first even when they in after you did which is not cool!!! This place makes a wonderful breakfast. We kinda hurt ourselves trying to sample everything today! Favorites: Hashbrown casserole is like nothing I've ever had. I think it had green chiles in it, and it was delicious. Biscuits and gravy! I can make my own, so I never order this out bc I don't like being disappointed....well, I loved their cream gravy, and the biscuits are so fluffy and fresh. Pancakes - huge and just really good. Eggs and sausage/bacon- all good! The place was packed, so be patient when you go. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly and managed to take care of her section with a smile even though I know she was frantically trying to juggle all the orders. Its not a fancy place, but it's good people working hard and doing their best. The food was decent but the service was terrible. The staff was unwelcoming and disrespectful. They repeatedly made comments about the table we sat at (4 adults and a child at a table marked for 5 people) but did not ask us to move. How unfortunate to live in such a great, educated city, to walk into a Trump loving restaurant (reminder y'all, he lost over 1 year ago and this fetish is gross). My whole company helped the Rolling Pin survive COVID, we supported them multiple times a week through breakfast and lunch orders while their restaurant was dead. I never liked their food, especially their lunch and hash browns, but knew it was important to help this little business survive. Today I walked in to see several "I did that" memes, blaming Biden for normal yearly price increases. As a business owner myself, it gave me a chuckle to see how ignorant and cowardly the owners of the Rolling Pin are. Don't get me wrong, I love that they carry their ignorance on their sleeve, it makes it easier when deciding which local businesses to support. And luckily there are a few great little breakfast gems that align with my morals and values! Now to the food. Gross is my best comment. I have had practically every menu item, and nothing is good or worth it. Considering the president is directly affecting their pricing, you'd think the food would be fresh and delicious. Sadly that's not the case here. The burgers are always dry, over cooked, and burnt, the eggs are never cooked correctly and are typically brown/burned, and the hash browns claim to be fresh but taste like freezer burnt mush. My breakfast this morning was no different, my eggs are brown and my ham is cold. Glad I have a great excuse to finally leave this place in the dust, I'm surprised I supported their medicraty for so long. read more

The food is good, but not amazing. I got some eggs (over-medium), hashbrowns, pancakes, cinnamon roll, OJ, and coffee. These are basic breakfast foods and are simple to make (I understand that), but there was nothing impressive about this place. GOOD: The folks were kind and helpful. My waitress did a good job keeping my coffee full. Fine breakfast foods. POOR: They were unable to make my favorite style of egg (basted). And I asked for super crispy hashbrowns, but they were still soggy. There is nothing appealing about the inside. Looks old, cold, and blah. Needs an update to appear more lively and friendly. All in all: I'd return, but only if someone else wanted to. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, esp. knowing that a Cracker Barrel is not to far away. read more

It seemed a little disorganized when we first walked in because one sign said 'seat yourself' and another said 'please sign in your name and number of your party'. But no one really seemed to be monitoring. Once seated we found out they were short 2 waitresses and the place was packed; and they were looking to hire 2 other waitresses and a cook. Finding help these days is hard for businesses. Once our waitress got to us she brought coffee and water and then took our order. Prices are reasonable and the food is good. Nice and clean. Only saw one Trump sign, although I don't much like the idea of mixing politics with business. Waitress was very nice. Food was good. Only 2 comments, 1. Hash browns, a little crispier please, they were a little soggy in middle. Flatten them a little more might help. 2. Sausage gravy, stop using instant gravy mix, no flavor to it at all. We had a restaurant many moons ago, my husband was chief cook. We used the big roll of jimmy Dean Sausage, browned, added maybe a 1/4 cup bacon grease. Ad flour till it has absorbed all the grease, stir constantly till flour is a light brown color, medium heat. And plenty pepper and salt. Ad milk slowly, stirring constantly till the desired thickness, TASTE! It would be cheaper too, you don't have to bye that instant gravy mix. Throw it away. Your chocolate gravy, which we have never seen on a menu was almost like homemade. My husband makes it often. The biscuits were ok but cold. Try homemade too. I ordered hash brown casserole with my breakfast plate; but I didn't like it at all. I asked the waitress if I could exchange them for regular hash brown instead. She brought me the regular hasbrowns without saying anything. She ended up charging me for the hash browns as an extra side. When I asked her about it she said, "We are not allowed to give you something in exchange for what you ordered just because you did not like it." I told her that I sure wished she would have told me that because I would not have gotten them. Also, the hashbrowns that I got in exchange for my casserole were also not good. The hashbrowns from Waffle Houses are much better. I also did not like their bacon, it had a weird taste to it. read more

It was self seating, we had to sit at a bigger table than we usually would since there were some closed due to social distancing and a few that still needed cleaning. Took a little bit to get some menus but after that service seems to be pretty quick! We got our food in a timely manner and the staff was very friendly!
