First note is that the location name changed. Yelp says it's surreal creamery, it's now called Macaroon Creamery. They're holding on to the surreal menu (floateas, etc) but it's not quite the same. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fyi-bathroom was dirty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Seriously, this is the best creamery I've ever been to. The ice cream is thick and creamy. They have ice cream flavors that you don't find elsewhere. They make them really pretty, too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The parlor is roomy and trendy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has comfortable couches and tables for teens and adults to gather[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], it's isn't like your local carvel or DQ. Pricy but you'll get a lot of ice cream and once you dig in, you won't wanna share. Love it!

Can't believe they opened up a location in ridgewood! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is surprisingly very spacious with hidden space in the back. Lots of seating and bright lighting which I think would make a great work/study spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Got the smallest size and it was still too much ice cream for 2 people. The Vietnamese coffee was good with the perfect balance between bitter and sweet. Earl grey was just eh.

Finally a Surreal location closer to home in Ridgewood! Service was great today stopped by during a street fair rush. The girls working we're both amazing and super polite and friendly. The inside was very minimalist and modern. And I always forget how large all the portions are and I always go with the kids portion. I am so happy there is a closer location to me than driving 40 minutes away to the nearest Surreal.

This place is fun for a one time stop but I can't imagine coming frequently. Two ice creams cost us $22.50, and they were wayyyyyy too big. How does someone finish these without sharing? The presentation is really good, but I wasn't crazy about the flavors, they seemed lacking? Strawberry was Ok, taro was a little light on the flavor and matcha was overpowering. If they had a normal sized portion I might come back to try the earl grey

Sooo glad that they have a surreal creamery here! Now I don't have to go to the city Service is friendly, but be patient if the place is packed cause there isn't that many workers. But it's well worth it. The floteas are a mixture of bubble tea and ice cream which hit the spot. They also have just bubble tea, ice cream, and milk shakes if you don't want to try a Flotea

Sooo excited for this ice cream shop in NJ! I have been wanting to visit one of their NY locations but haven't gotten to it. The inside is super cute and spacious. They have tons of options to choose from bubble teas to mason jars filled with ice cream, milkshakes, or if you can't decide you can get bubble tea topped with soft serve! They do offer samples if you're having trouble making up your mind (thank god). I got a passion fruit bubble tea which was the best I've ever had, the flavor was very strong and didn't taste light or watered down. I also had to sample the Cookie Monster flavor and Taro which were surprisingly mild. I will definitely be back to try one.. (or 3) of their unique options on their menu soon. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming!

My bf and I got the Thai milk flotea. The size was huge so we shared it. I'm a huge fan of bubble tea so I was very excited to try this! The boba was not great, very mushy but the icecream was the best part. It was nice to try out but we probably won't be back.

Everything was so delicious. The wide variety of flavors and combinations makes it a really fun experience, I'll definitely be coming back.

Amazing ice cream with fun creative options in the menu. Theyre open late in case youre craving something sweet too. Will definitely be back this summer!

They also have a chocolate shop next door. When I walked inside of the bakery, I felt transported to a pastry shop in France. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was super busy. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered a latte and a scone. The scone was very delicious and fresh. My boyfriend ordered a frozen hot chocolate and a chocolate éclair. I tried a bit of the éclair and we both agreed that it was the star of the show. I normally am not a big éclair person but this one was so chocolatey and rich. It was filled with this creamy, fresh chocolate filling. I strongly dislike the store bought cream filling that they are usually piped with. We sat at one of the little tables on the sidewalk outside since the weather was nice. I will be back if I am in the area and in the mood for a sweet treat!

Cross contamination is no issue for me, as I informed them, but I need to know if there are nuts actually inside as an ingredient. One person said only one item on their dessert menu contained nuts, and when I mentioned that many contained hazelnut they seemed surprised to learn that hazelnut is in fact a tree nut. Lo and behold, the chocolate dacquoise inside the Spring dessert contained nuts and I got an anaphylactic reaction as a result and needed to take my EpiPen. The bite I had was very yummy but almost took me out so I'll still keep two stars for the baking itself. However, staff NEEDS to know what contains very common and deadly allergens.

What a great little ramen placed tucked-in Glen Rock!…read more Came on a Sunday afternoon and nobody was in the restaurant! It's not too big --- maybe sit 20-30pp. max. However, it was a comfortable setting. Food-wise, tried several dishes: the takoyaki ($10), the karaage ($9) as well as the Ika Furai ($10) for appetizers, along with the Kokoro Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen ($19.50). The appetizers all came out fairly quickly, and were nice and hot. Highlights were definitely the karaage and takoyaki (although I may have a bias to them). I though the Ika Furai (fried calamari) was going to be "pieces of tentacles, etc", it wasn't. It was the same calamari rings you can get anywhere, so I'd pass on that. However, let's talk about that Kokoro Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen. The ramen broth was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. The toppings were great --- and the egg was a nice jammy consistency. The noodles were a good texture, and the soup was served nice and hot. That black garlic provided the right backdrop to such a wonderful rich ramen. Don't even get me started on the charred-tonkatsu. Such a beautiful meaty piece that was sitting on top of that bed of noodles. Totally recommend this. Pro-tip: ask for some spicy-oil on the side, then you get the best of both worlds - black garlic and spice. Overall, I totally recommend this place if you're looking to satisfy that ramen craving. You don't need to go to Paramus, or the Palisades, or even Ridgewood --- just go to this small business, you'll find big flavor!
