Went here for their freshly made Kunefe cheese dessert! Its just gooey, crunchy sweet but not overly sweet yumminess! Very very good! Their baklavas are perfect. Always fresh, they offer pistachios, walnut and hazelnut varieties! A must try. They have bakery items that look great will try next time. Very welcoming staff. My only thing is the steep $30 for the kunefe, but can be shared for about 4 people. Patking whre is a challenge especially on the weekends.

I usually get Baklava at Taskin bakery which is fairly close, but decided to give this place a shot. In summary, the balakavas are a little smaller and a little cheaper than those at Taskin. Taste wise, I think Taskin has a stronger pistachio taste, whereas the ones here have a stronger syrup taste (I prefer the former). For whatever reason when I brought them home, they were a little on the soggy side and I was underwhelmed. However putting them in the fridge overnight seemed to fix this, as they were firmer the next day. It is located in a strip mall with parking, which is nice, although the lot was fairly busy when I visited.

The place is relatively big. It's not beautiful, but it's clean. The food is really amazing. I loved it. The servers are a little bit not friendly and not that helpful but it's fine. The food is really good.

Live cooking of my kunefe!

This is the place for all authentic Turkish dessert, tea, and coffee. You can't find better ones in NJ. The kunefe is made from scratch on site everyday. It's cooked when you order and you can watch while the cooking is taking place! Order it with or without pistachios, which are imported from Turkey and have more intense flavors. Add the stretchy Turkish ice cream too, a real nice sweet treat. They have many different kinds of baklava and have recently added the cold baklava, a new trend, which is delicious and a must-try! All go well with the Turkish tea and coffee. This place is as good as, if not better than, what you can find in Istanbul.

Künefe

We visited this Turkish dessert place on New Year's Day. Thanks that they were open. It has a nice seating area and big. For my opinion the previous set up like old village seating was a lot authentic. "Şark köşesi" we call. Anyways , The place was pretty empty some people got to go baklava orders. We had the künefe and that was tasty. The counter person was helpful and attentive. We will be back to try other baklava varieties.

Delicious and very generous Turkish breakfast!

Great breakfast. While so many other places In Paterson offer breakfast, Antelpli is by far the most delicious and generous option. Breakfast tray for two cost $60 but in reality can feed 4 people. It includes bread, simmit, filo dough with cheese, two plates of omelette and big Turkish teapot that is kept warm with a burning candle. Plus the huge tray of variety of breakfast item (all captured in the accompanying photo) . All deliciously prepared and served in a very attractive way. Definitely recommend!

Turkish tea was delicious!

My friend and I selected Antepli to wrap up an ethnic food adventure in Paterson. We're extremely happy that we did! We selected six mini pastries including chocolate baklava, pistachio cylinders, and a dessert with a name that sounds like media. The "media" were my favorite, tender with a bit of a cream filling. All were quite good. We also went with a scoop of the milk and caramel flavor Turkish ice cream. This was a completely new experience, the texture of the ice cream was unlike anything we've had. The milk flavor was our favorite, straightforward and excellent. The highlight of the dessert was the kunefe. It was truly amazing, melted cheese with crispy topping and honey. We also enjoyed Turkish tea and coffee. The staff was friendly and proud of their food. The ambiance was cool, a great place to hang out. Looking forward to a return.

3 Nov 2024. Tried 8 pieces. They are nice though we are not really into dessert. The store appears to have many local patrons.

Really great baklava .. and ice cream and service!

Best place for baklava in the area. Cozy place and friendly service Baklava + kanafe + ice cream + Turkish tea is our usual order and we never regret it

Sarma baklava/extra baklava. Honestly one of if not the best baklavas I have ever had. Very fresh and very tasty.

I went here with another person. The woman in front was very nice. Along with some of their green baklava/sarma baklava (the all pistachio version,) I ordered a kunefe. For a bit over half a pound of the latter and a pretty large kunefe, it was 19$ which is pretty cheap for the quality. The kunefe here is freshly made to order (takes around 12-15 minutes for a small) and is topped afterwards with a honey syrup. While fresh and piping hot and loaded with fresh pistachios on top, I preferred the ones from Middle Eastern places like Nablus. This isn't because this is worse but i prefer a rosewater flavor over honey and a stronger cheese flavor. In terms of the Turkish variety, this is one of the better ones I have had. The baklava here is honestly the best I have had and I'll definitely want to revisit. The woman gave me some pieces from a new batch that was just made and they were perfectly soft and room temperature as they should be. Good local place though it is the second location of a one in Bay Ridge with a much larger selection/is a bit cheaper I hear. I'll go back to that one which also has some extra options and to get some mastiha ice cream. 4.6

I know this is related to the same establishment in Bay Ridge, but somehow everything tastes fresher at this location. We stopped in for two pieces of baklava, çay, and kunefe, and it was just about everything you could ask for in an afternoon snack. The roasted pistachios on top of the kunefe - imported from Turkey - were so flavorful that I bought a box just of them to take home.

The workers at work.

Very good dessert. Prepared the food with love. Amazing service. Definitely coming here next time. The workers by the name of kadir & Sedat did an outstanding job making sure I was taken care of.

Great selection of baklava and other Syrian specialties. When in the area I will go out of my way to stock up on a variety of baklava.

If you're in the area, don't miss out on this amazing culinary experience! I've tried just about everything on the menu and it's all 10/10! I can eat the hummus from here for breakfast lunch and dinner and that's saying a lot considering I think every hummus I've ever eaten out is trash besides this one and the one we make at home whose recipe comes past down generations from Palestine. Everything I've tried here is very close to the authentic Palestinian food we make at home which is priceless when you're feeling homesick and nostalgic.

You get so much more than you'd expect for the price. It comes with a generous selection of meats, fresh bread, salad, rice, and a variety of delicious dipping sauces. Our food arrived within about 20 minutes of ordering, which was impressive considering how much was included. The service is always excellent. There's consistently someone keeping an eye on the dining room, making sure every table is taken care of right away whenever anyone needs something. The only thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant doesn't have its own parking lot, but there's plenty of street parking nearby, so finding a spot wasn't an issue. I'll definitely be back!

If you're craving fresh Middle Eastern food without the whole sit-down restaurant experience,…read moreAl-Basha Take Out is definitely worth checking out! Everything is made fresh here. That even includes their pita bread, which is made right in house. We tried the chicken kebab, kofta kebab and lamb chops, which all come with an abundance of rice and salad. The platters are flavorful, tender and filling. Then we got into the mazzah which is essentially a bunch of dips worth trying! I loved the hummus which was soooo fresh. We also got the fried kibbeh, falafel and fried cheese. All of these items were super easy to eat, great finger food options as this is a takeout spot. And you can't forget the drinks! We tried their mint lemonade, regular lemonade and strawberry mango, and they were all equally refreshing. I loved how easy the whole takeout process is. You can order with someone at the counter or use their self-ordering system, grab your food and go. Everyone we interacted with was super pleasant. I really liked the clean dining area too. Perfect comfy spot for a quick bite.

I'd been dying to finally try their renowned Palestinian food. I came on a Friday night, and the restaurant was packed with families and large parties. They even offer valet parking--which tells you something about how popular this place is. And forget paying extra for bread. They start you off with a whole basket of 4-5 pieces of soft, house-made pita, along with pickled vegetables. The menu has both small plates (hot and cold mezze) and entrees, but we really wanted to sample as much as possible, so we went with the small plates. We ordered the fried cauliflower, fried cheese, lamb and beef sausage, and falafel. Everything was truly incredible, and the portions were very generous. The cauliflower was a little oily, but that's to be expected with fried cauliflower. It still had an amazing crunch, and they brought us complimentary toum and hummus for dipping, which was such a nice touch. The fried cheese was incredibly fresh and crispy with a light saltiness that made it hard to stop eating. But the falafel was the star for me--and probably the best I've ever had. Falafel usually isn't something I order first; I'm pretty take-it-or-leave-it about it. But these completely changed my mind. They're longer and more oblong than the usual round falafel, and the texture and flavor were fantastic. The lamb sausage was also really good. The only item that felt just okay compared with everything else was the beef sausage. On the drinks front, they don't have fountain drinks--only Boylan sodas. Sadly, no Diet Coke, but that was a very minor point. The service was amazing all night, and between the generous portions and all the different plates, we had plenty of leftovers to take home. They also have a smaller takeout location very close by if you can't get a reservation at the main restaurant. Overall: Al Basha absolutely lived up to the hype. Incredible Palestinian food, generous portions, warm service, and some seriously memorable falafel. Definitely worth the trip to Paterson.
