I really wanted to like this place. We went for lunch shortly after they opened. I had seen it on instagram and really wanted to try it. They were not that busy when we went. We ordered and my sister got her food about 5 minutes later. After waiting and seeing everyone else get their food including the woman behind us, I went up to ask where my food was. This was approximately 10 minutes now after I ordered. The guy asked what I ordered and I told him and he said it would be right out. The woman behind us on line had finished her meal and had gone back up to place a to go order. Apparently she ordered what I ordered so she was given my meal after telling them she wanted it to go. I went up to ask again where my food was after waiting another 5 minutes. At this point a woman comes out from the kitchen to say that I already got my meal. I said no I didn't and that I have been waiting 15 minutes at this point. She proceeds to argue with the guy who was helping me that she made an extra one and that he messed up. No apology for the mix up, just visibly annoyed that she now had to make another one. It took almost 20 minutes from the time I ordered to finally get my meal. The food was good. The drinks we got we didn't really care for. The desserts we tried were okay. I found them too sweet for me and I like sweets. This was the only food I had at that point. I had been saving room because I wanted to try a few things. Shortly after we left, I got sick to my stomach. I don't know what I had from there that made me so incredibly sick but I ended up having to cancel dinner plans with a friend and wasn't able to eat till the next day. So based on this experience I wouldn't return to try it again. An apology goes a long way as I might have returned despite getting sick to try something different. read more

Had a great experience! Stopped in for coffee and loved the decor and space. Inquired about hosting book club and they were extremely kind and offered to have us at their location. They reserved a long table for 14 girls, and posted about the event on the social media page. They were polite and were very informative as book club members ordered snacks and drinks. On my hunt to find a new coffee shop every month I came across this gem in Clifton near the Paterson border. This cafe with a beautiful aesthetic inside is a Syrian based Cafe with tons of sandwiches, sweets, and coffee/matcha beverages that will make tij go crazy. The decor alone makes you want to take photos all around and is perfect for your social media curated stories lol The server highly recommend two iced beverages that they have for their special Valentines menu and boy did they hit the spot. The Lotus Love and roses are pink latte are highly recommended and have the perfect amount of sweetness. I'll have to come back for their savory items but we did order two regular baklava and two chocolate baklava sweets. You can tell that it was freshly made and they really take pride in their items. Updating to 5 stars because this last time, the ice cream had the perfect amount of stretch and was phenomenal. Tamr Hindi was just as good as the first time. Lots of cute board games and a children's play area give the cafe charm. Will certainly be back. Service was wonderful. read more

Came here for the kenafa sandwich but left having the kenafa AND baklava w ice cream. After having some meaty goodness at Kebap lounge I decided to choose the next venue with that kenafa crunch (not Dubai chocolate anything though...because I'm taking a break from that). This place does not disappoint , it's got that floral vibe inside and their assortment of desserts are plenty. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and made us these recommendations. Seating arrangement is cozy and their outdoor seating was great with an oversized chess board and another group game setup which I couldn't tell what it was. Damasco can be a date spot, a group spot, a family spot and even a solo spot, hidden at the back of the plaza so it feels somewhat exclusive. Didn't get a chance to sample the ice cream but in our next visit it will be on the list. You will find NO disappointments here , only pleasuring the palate. read more

Damasco Cafe was recommended to me. I was pretty satisfied. I got the zaatar croffle and it didn't come with the labneh which was disappointing. The baklava was okay. The real star here is definitely the ice cream. Come for the ice cream not so much the drinks. They were just okay. The refreshers look better than the coffee and tea. Service here is pretty good they'll bring stuff out to you if you sit outside. The hours are great they're open super late and offer a beautiful space full of pink flowers and lots of space to do work and outlets and wifi! read more

I have to start with the decor -- 10/10. It's so beautifully decorated, with flowers and swings embellishing the entire dining space. The only thing that took away from the ambiance was the giant line to the bathroom. There was only a single stall for both men and women, and people were zigzagging between patrons to wait -- definitely not the most ideal situation. I really appreciated the kids' area -- that was thoughtful and unique. Another thing that slightly disrupted the ambiance was the constant banging from the ice cream server. I believe Syrian ice cream has to be beaten, but the nonstop pounding while we were dining in the main hall took away from the overall experience. It wasn't a huge nuisance, but still noticeable. What was truly not ideal, though, was the food and drinks. I rarely ever send back a drink, but I did -- and somehow, the second version was worse. It ended up in the trash. The knafeh was inedible and rubbery. The service staff could also be better trained. They seemed confused while taking our order. One of us ordered an iced Americano, and the server didn't know how to input it into the system. They had to call over a manager just to plug it in. It was also quite overpriced. We got two desserts, three drinks, and three water bottles -- the total came out to nearly $70. That said, I do think this place has a lot of potential, which is why I'm giving it three stars. I really hope to come back one day and revise this to five stars. read more

One Star -- A Masterclass in How to Mess Everything Up I walked in wanting something simple: two lemon mint drinks and one latte. That's it. Somehow, that order turned into a full-blown lesson in human incompetence. Instead, I was handed two lattes and one so-called "lemon mint" that was literally just lemonade. No mint. Zero. Not a leaf. Not a hint. Just vibes and lies. When I pointed out the mistake, instead of apologizing or fixing it properly, I was told: "Oh just keep the second latte and I'll make you another lemon mint." Great, right? Wrong. Then he casually tells me I have to PAY for the second lemon mint -- even though HE messed up the order. Like... what?? In what universe does the customer pay for your mistake? At that point I was exhausted and just said whatever and sat back down. Then he hands me two "lemon mint" drinks. I look at them. Again. No mint. At all. So I ask, "Where is the mint?" And he says -- with zero shame -- "We don't have anymore!!!!!" EXCUSE ME??? So you: Took my order knowing you don't have mint Made fake lemon mint TWICE Charged me for your mistake And only told me you were out of mint after everything was done You could've told me before making it. You could've told me before charging me. You could've told me at literally any helpful moment. This wasn't a mistake -- it was a complete lack of communication, accountability, and basic human logic. If you don't have an ingredient, SAY IT. If you mess up, OWN IT. If someone orders lemon mint, maybe include the mint.
