My auto mechanic referred me to this company. I needed a duplicate key made for a Honda Civic. It's a key that has a built in remote so requires key cutting and programming. The dealerships quotes were expensive and required I leave the car in their service area for at least an hour an hour for programming. Surfside offered to come to me, provided original Honda keys and programmed within 20 minutes. They were very responsive and work was done quickly and professionally. I went to Surfside Lock & Key today to have a 2nd key cut and programmed for my 2010 Corolla that I purchased from Hertz Car Sales (with just one key / remote control fob included). I brought them a blank combination key and remote control unit that I bought on eBay for $35. (I had already programmed the "keyless entry" features of the key fob.) They cut the new key in about a minute. Then it only took another few minutes for him to hook up a computer device and program the immobilizer in my car to accept the transponder chip in the new key. He had me test both keys / remote controls before we went back inside to settle the very reasonable bill of $60. I'm sure the dealership would have charged much more. Thanks read more

Truly exceptional guys in a business where trustworthiness is really needed and hard to find. I used them to cut two emergency keys (the metal key, not the electronic fob) for my push-to-start Prius. They had the best prices ($60 for two keys!), and were super helpful, accommodating, and honest. They agreed to meet with me after hours. They were the only folks I called who offered me a cheaper price for brining my own blank keys. However, when the super-cheap blank key blades I bought on ebay proved to be too crappy to use (both broke in the cutting machine), they used their own blanks and didn't charge me one cent more. This is beyond fair. It's actually unfair in my favor. I tried to pay them a bit extra for the blanks, but they wouldn't even take it! I mostly talked to Michael on the phone, but was helped by someone else whose name I didn't catch. Both were excellent and I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

These guys are a ripped off. I called them personally ask how much for a just a metal key made on a 2001 Toyota Sienna. I first called there office first and was quoted 400 and he kept saying I have to reprogram the key when I told him there no alarm system on there. I'm not a stupid person when it comes to cars. So far two experiences with this company....independently contracted through AAA.... I was always in a rush, upset, big things on my mind and locked my keys in. Usually only happens every few years or so.... The two times I had people come out has been very consistent and excellent. Both times, hot days, greeting with a cold bottle of water and pens with the logo. They were quick, efficient and friendly. I CANNOT say enough about this service. The keys for my 2002 Honda CRV wouldn't turn in the ignition anymore. Also, the keys haven't worked on the drivers side door for a few months either. I called one locksmith a few weeks ago and he came out and told me the keys were the problem and made a new key but it didn't work but still charged $30 and didn't leave the new key. I called Mike at Surfiside Lock on Friday to schedule an appt for the weekened and he said they would be open on Saturday after 9am and to call back then. I called Mike around 10am and he had Shayan call me back minutes later. Shayan arrived 30mins later. He quickly diagnosed the problem with the ignition and disassembled the ignition to fix it. He also asked me how i found their company and i told him on Yelp. He asked if i had AAA and i said yes so he told me to call them right away since AAA would save me $100 off the repair. I called AAA and they created an order so that i could save on the repair. Shayan quickly repaired the ignition and made a new key. I asked if he had time to fix the drivers door lock and he said yes and quickly repaired that also. He said that the old keys will still work but to use the new key and keep the old ones as backups. She had accidentally locked our foster dog in the rear hatch of our loaner car (accidentally dropped the key lifting the dog in and believe it or not, you CAN lock a key inside a Benz).
