Worst possible experience ever. Most underhanded business practices ever. Came out, changed the lock on my door without ever quoting me a price. The answering service said a quote would be given before any work was started. Put in a $20 lock and charged $300. Never told me the quote and he was 2 feet away from me. He insisted on emailing it to me. Total bill to come out, pick the lock and install a $20 lock was $520. Numerous calls to the company were not returned. This company should be embarresed to be in business. Their "underhanded" business practices will catch up eventually. read more

This is related to their location in Arizona. Buyer beware. Needed a dublicate for my 2025 Camry, which they said they could do. In summary, came out twice, tech sais he couldn't program it, and his system need to be updated. In the end never contacted me again. I did email them, and a Rick responded right away. He made an appointment for the tech to come out another day, and as I expected, no one came or contacted me. When I contacted them about the appointment and someone coming out, they said let me check. At that point I was done. I don't trust them, and question if they're really a legitimate business. He arrived and tried to sell garbage key then he agreed to order similar key. He stated if I don't buy what he is selling I have to pay service call which was never mentioned. We agreed upon $300 to get similar key. It took over a month to get the key, finally he arrived and asked for more money that we agrred upon. The technician showed up in a van that looked like it had been wrecked, and the stench of cigarette smoke hit me before he even opened the door. He spent nearly two hours fumbling around, and in the end, the key he gave me barely worked. They charged me more than $700 for this, while my dealership did it right--for $200 less. The technician spent 1 hour talking in circles so that he could bill me the 1 hour minimum - for doing literally nothing. It should have been a 15'minute call - maximum. My lock was not fixed. He merely agreed with me that the lock didn't work and I should go to a hardware store and see if they could help with new screws. And - I did ask about billing and pricing up front - their dispatch won't give an answer because they want to see how much they can charge you once they arrive. A total rip off. I guess you should always ask about cost before making appointments. My key fob was not working correctly so I asked about having it reprogramming . They sent a technician to my house. Ten minutes to reprogram my 2 remotes only to tell me the second remote was no good. They charged me $186 for a 15 minute visit that didn't fix my problem. Very disappointed. I should have asked up front what they charged for their services. I guess you live & learn. Won't make that mistake again. read more

Very unprofessional. They provided me a new key fob last summer after I lost my original. The fob was very pricey, and it ended up not working the very next day. A technician returned to fix the new fob, and it although it "worked" afterward, it started giving issues a few months later, until it eventually stopped working altogether this weekend. When I called them to fix the issue, they gave me a 3 day run around while my car sat in a parking lot (the car cannot start without the fob). I reached out on Friday evening and was supposed to see a technician the following day at noon. The technician never showed nor called. I followed up, and they scheduled for the technician to show up that evening, and it was another no show. They then scheduled me for the following Sunday, and this time said that I would have to pay a fee that I was initially not supposed to pay because they were fixing their own malfunctioning remote. When Sunday came around, it was another no call--no show. When I followed up this time they claim that the technician unilaterally decided that it would not be worth the cost for me to pay for them to come out. somehow, the technician took it upon himself to diagnose the issue and draw this conclusion without having even come to asses the issue. When I brought this to the attention of the customer service representative, he directed me to another administrative staff that did not even pick up the call. After calling back several times and being directed to nobody, or being told that I would receive a call back that I never received, I eventually contacted another company that came and fixed the issue in all of 45 minutes. Sure Lock's lack of professionalism and customer care relative to their competitors leaves me to wonder how they are even still in the market. read more

I was very disappointed about several aspects of their service. Starting off, calling them, a call center answers. They apparently don't really have any idea what they're talking about. The locksmith gets here and give me a quotethat is more than double what was told to me. Granted, they did say that it was a starting price. But, I had explained about my limited funds for this. It would've been helpful for her to clarify the large gap between starting price and possible price. I have an older vehicle, a 2000 Nissan Altima. It was one of the first years I started using keys with a transponder chip. I told the dispatcher when I called that it was a transponder key. The price that he originally quoted me when he got here it was for a transponder key. When he gave me the price, I told him I couldn't do it, and went back inside. He comes to my door when I wouldn't answer his call, and says that since he's here, he'll go ahead and do it for the quoted price so it wouldn't be a waste of trip. Then he said that he would be losing money on a job. So, I said if it will cost him money, then don't do it. At which point, he admitted that he would make some money, just not much. I thankfully agreed. He goes to make the key and comes back up. He says that he thinks that the battery's dead or something. I looked at the key, and it is a plain metal regular key, no transponder. I tell him that it needs to have a transponder. I already have a spare one that will just unlock the doors, and not start the car. First, he questions how I know that it's a transponder key. God forbid a woman knows what she's talking about, especially when it comes to a car. Nevertheless, I explain to him how I'm sure, and he agrees. At which point he says he can no longer do it for that price, and would need at least another $30. Again, I tell him not to bother. He ultimately agrees to do it. He's out at the car for a while, and eventually comes back saying that he can't figure out how to program it. That he was on the phone with his boss and tried three different programs and couldn't do it. He said and there must be something wrong with the computer in the car. So, he ends up charging me for the trip and the key part, just not the programming. It cost me $85 for a key that didn't work. A few days later, I get another locksmith to come out here to see if he can program it, also to verify that there's nothing wrong with the key itself. He didn't seem to have a problem doing it. In the end, The Sure Lock and Key locksmith was either incompetent, or he was mad I didn't want to pay the outrageous price and blew me off. Either way, it is bad business. You're definitely better off contacting a company that is actually in the local area, rather than those dispatch centers. read more

After using a valet service, my keys were lost. Sure Lock and Keysmith made a new set of keys that same day. However, my experience does not end there. To further complicate a highly stressful time in my life - my vehicle also had a key fob. Not only did Sure Lock and Keysmith install a new (and improved) car alarm, they also facilitated and delivered to me a loaner car so I would not be inconvenienced while they were installing the alarm. Where to start.... this business is horrible. I had them install two knew slabs for patio french doors that I needed to replace. The installer. Tim, made several visits to my house. He ordered incorrect hardware. He was nearly impossible to contact and didn't respond to my calls of texts. He would say he would show up, then be a no show. He has since left Sure Lock and no longer works there. I've contacted Sure Lock multiple times by phone and email because the door is now malfunctioning and won't open. Also, Tim never provided me with the grill for one of the doors that he had to reorder because it was damaged in shipping. They gave me the name of a new technician, Lawrence. He never came out to see the door, then he ghosted me and stopped answering texts and phone calls. I have since emailed and called customer service 20+ times and they take for ever to respond. I've asked for a manager to call me, but that hasn't happened. I payed over $6k for these doors and the job is incomplete and the doors don't work. And what is Sure Lock doing about it? Nothing. They are telling me that I need to contact the installer that no longer works for them! He won't even answer his phone or texts! Sure Lock doesn't care about their customers. If an employee leaves the company, the employer takes on the responsibility to guarantee that former employees work. They are not offering to send a new tech out to fix the issue. They are telling me they don't have anyone who is capable of fixing the problem! Absolutely ridiculous. So then..... I post a negative review on Google reviews. The owner of the company immediately responds and tells me I must have his company confused with another company. He said I should be contacting A1 Door. This is what I said.... UPDATE: In response to the owner saying I have the wrong company I assure you I have the right business sir! I've been contacting you repeatedly. Your customer service team recognizes my order and are aware of Tim and Lawrence being your technicians. I have an estimate with your company name on it. I have emails from your customer service and the signature says Sure Lock, not A1 Doors. I can provide it to you if you'd like. You have $6k of my money, which I can show you the cashed check for. Stop trying to make up for bad business. You have a responsibility as a business owner to provide ethical service...you have failed to do that. These people are scammers!!!! Our lock broke and we called them to fix it! They broke the lock and left us without being able to close our door for two nights. When we called back to ask that they come to fix it they came back to put the handle back and said that the lock is hard to find and provided no communication about how long it was going to take or what options we had! It's been over a week and there is nothing from them no resolution!!!!! In the meantime they asked us to pay $150 just to break our lock and leave us without being able to close our door!!!!!!!! When I tried to speak to a manager to complain and get a refund nobody called, they sent a message from a customer care team to state that it's normal to take up to 2 weeks to get a lock fixed and that there is nothing wrong that they have done! On day one of my car rental my keys magically disappeared. Panic stricken I called Hertz and they gave ne two choices. First to have the car towed to the nearest airport (an hour + away).
