The only way to describe Laszlo is a 'good, old-fashioned, con-man'! Alarm bells should start going off with how reluctant he is to give you a quote on the phone. He will come up with a multitude of reasons why this isn't possible, the only actual reason being that he wants to size you up when he sees you and try and guilt you in to accepting his outrageous prices because he has made the effort to come to you. His next trick is to tell you how difficult your locks are to replace - all nonsense. Finally he will try and gouge you as much as he can, without laughing, for the price of the locks which are pretty much the cheapest things you can find on the market. One colleague who used him told me he added a 100% mark up on the price of a lock. He tried 60% with us. Just outrageous! I have no problem with someone adding a bit of a premium to parts, but 60-100% is just ridiculous. He did not wear a mask on our call out, nor on others I have heard about and he made no effort to clean up after himself when he was done. To add insult to injury, he then tries to convince you to write a positive review for him. I believe this is where any positive reviews he gets come from, as he looms over you pretty much until you tell him firmly, "no!" or you write the review. Just stay away!! read more

I called Wizard Locksmiths yesterday to come change the locks after my home was broken into and we thought a house key was missing. The technician responded immediately and was on his way to my home within half an hour. However, we found the missing key right before his arrival and when i called to cancel, I offered to pay the travel fee since he was almost at my home. However, the man was very kind and said he would turn around and not to worry about it. Technician responded quickly to my call when I had a late night semi-emergency. He was very professional, courteous, efficient, and got the job done without any hassle. He changed both locks (I had broken my key in the top lock a while back and now, upon returning home from work, in the bottom lock, too, smh) and although I was afraid I'd be charged an arm and a leg, the prices were more reasonable than locksmiths I have used in the past. Came out quickly to resolve broken exterior door knob. Pricing was outrageous. $227 for 20 minutes of work. Charged $35 to come out, $85 to open door, $129 to replace door knob with a $20 off the shelf knob, $25 to tweak the door plate. Also requested that I tear up the check written to the company and rewrite to him. Not something that is done by a professional company. Would never recommend them to anyone. Feel like he took advantage of the fact that I'm a women and nickel and dime everything. read more

The "Wizard" totally ripped me off. Refused to give me an estimate until the work was done, charged me $165 for a $20 lock, and $85 in labor for five minutes of adjusting the lock. Refused to refund me when I complained. I was so mad that I had another locksmith come to my house to tell me what it should have cost, he said $90. My total charge from the "Wizard"? $324. I called 3 other area locksmiths and asked for rough estimates over the phone, and they varied from $65 to $90. There are lots of choices out there for locksmiths, so I would recommend you choose someone else, or demand an estimate first. Funny that the website says lowest prices; his prices were nowhere near the other locksmiths. read more

Called took over an hour to get to location. The webpage advertises $35 service call and $49 for lock out service. There was a disclaimer saying that it may be more dependant on the lock. After the portly service tech unlocked the door in under 3 minutes with two metal lock picks. He then proceed to try to charge me $212, $45 for "weekend service call" then $167 for services and tax. After pointing out the webpage only says $35 he took $10 off what was owed. After explaining that this was way to expensive he then said he would do it for $160. Then when I asked if I could pay with credit card he said cash only again not advertised on webpage. Since I didn't have cash he then said we had to go to the closest bank to get the money. Since I didn't want to deal with him any longer we went to a gas station with an ATM, i got the money asked for a receipt which he said he "didn't have any". I paid the $160 and he sped off. read more
