Chris was wonderful! My son lost his only key fob to his Nissan and we called AAA to tow it to a dealer. The AAA driver recommended we call 123 Mobil Lock in Norwalk instead of towing the car to Fairfield. Chris was there in 15 minutes, had all the necessary equipment to make a new fob and the car was started! Interesting experience with Chris. Started with a phone call to him on Mother's Day to see if he could make a key for my son's car which he'd lost his keys to. First off, Chris answered the phone immediately and seemed to know what he was talking about. He explained that I needed a code from my Toyota dealer in order for him to make a copy of the key. He told me that once I had the code, it would take him 10-minutes to get the key made and cost $100. Following his recommendation, I went to the Toyota dealer first thing Monday am and got the code. I called Chris and he said that he had 5 calls ahead of me (it was 7:30am) and that he would get to it by the afternoon and it would take 2-3 hours and cost $250. He then had someone pick the car up and tow it to his "buddy's shop" at no charge. My son stayed in the area while the car was there and walked by the shop numerous times throughout the day where the car remained on the tow truck all day. At 2:30, Chris called me and told me that the job was more complicated than he expected and that he couldn't make the key and we should tow it to the Toyota service center. He said they were putting the ignition back together and he could sell me the uncut key/s for $80. This is where it get strange. My son then went back to the shop to pay and there were 3 guys there asking him where the car came from and how it got there. No one was working on it, nor did it appear that anyone had been throughout the day. It was still on the tow truck. They tried telling him he had to pay them cash (even though Chris told me I could Venmo him the $80 for the keys). Long story short, I did Venmo send Chris the $80 Venmo. However, I have my doubts that anyone even looked at the ignition or tried to make the keys since the car never moved from the tow truck and the guys in the shop had no idea why it was there since they clearly never saw Chris in there working on it. I ended up having AAA come and tow it (removed it from their truck and put it on his truck) and take it to the Toyota service center a mile down the road where I was then told that the 2 keys I'd paid $80 for were not going to work. Maybe Chris is better at unlocking doors ‍ . He definitely answers his phone and responds to texts which is a positive. read more
