Don Finch is the man to beat ... but I don't think you will. I got locked out of my house late Friday afternoon, on Easter weekend. Since Don is in Norwalk & it was Friday rush hour, he actually gave me the name of a locksmith in Fairfield so I could get help more quickly. So straightaway I'm thinking, "He's suggesting a competitor that's much closer to me? Who DOES that?" So I called said competitor (1 mile away) only to hear him say it's his day off, so the cost would be $275 or more. No thank you. I then called another local, & he tried to pick the lock, but couldn't. So he stuck a wedge between the door & the frame, and started to force the wedge in, until I asked him what the hell he was doing. He said he needed to move the door away from the frame to get a tool in between them & get the door open that way. End of story for that guy. At this point I called Don back & told him that if he were willing to make the trip, I'd be more than happy to wait for him. He arrived in record time, and as soon as I saw him I knew he was the real deal. He had to drill out the cylinder on front door, and he was able to replace it with a cylinder he had with him. But here's the kicker - he personally "customized" the new cylinder, by *somehow* reconfiguring the inside of it, so I can still use my old key from the cylinder that he drilled out! So now I still have ONE key that can open all of my doors. This, my friends, is what's known as an old-world craftsman. In this day & age they are extremely hard to come by, and when you find one, you hold onto him. Don is a keeper, and I feel lucky, indeed, to have crossed paths with him. He is a true craftsman and a gem of a gentleman. I'll recommend him to everyone I know. read more

Seems to a decent honest man running a small local business. Got locked out of my alarmed business, and after 5 calls to others, I ended up with Finch's. Seems the local independents know which locals are better. The guy came, did what he had to do, which was not easy considering the type of secure locks I have.
