Cooking classes here r the best! Incredible experience
JJ J.

High end cookware, cooking classes & event prep store with costumer service & knowledge & expertise the standout traits to make this my go-to anything kitchen related. This location in particular tends to fall over themselves trying to help, but never pushy, more like socially conversive yet technically omniscient, they know or find out all my insane questions...which I have a lot of given all the culinary nuances; they make me feel comfortable in all my at home cooking adventures! The cooking classes are constantly ongoing and there are a huge variety you can attend like for kids or occasions or cultural foods, I had an amazing time and learned many new things and was surprised I could cook that well, I'd say they helped my confidence plus were very inspirational. One thing that's always a must are the free coffee samples from the most expensive espresso machines, I may take advantage a bit too much there sorry! One particular item I got here that I use 100% of time are the epicurean cutting boards since they're composite paper (used to make skate parks back in 90s) so no microplastics & they're super tough and washable (still like hand wash only) & have wells & silicone corners for no slip. Just a fun place to hang out! Park in parking garage next door, that's free!

What a fantastic date night. Dee did a phenomenal job teaching Date Night: Dim Sum Delicacies. They take out all the boring work like dicing vegetables and measuring out everything, and focus on teaching you the unique aspects for preparing your dish. They will be hands on if you need help, but really try to let you work on your own. The food turning out delicious was also a bonus!

Fun date night experience! I tried new cooking methods and recipes. We went more so for fun rather than actual culinary education and had a great time. We met new people along the way which was cool! I enjoyed myself.

Great place for a cooking class! We attended a fresh pasta making class yesterday and we had a wonderful time. The instructor did a great job and was very friendly and funny took. The only thing my fiancé and I didn't like was the fact that the cooking class is in groups of 4, but other than that no complaint :)

So fun!! Took the "pasta from home class" and have been making pasta from scratch ever since. Had a small issue during the class where the measured proportions were off but the instructors were very calm and able to help whip up a new batch no problems! Got some awesome recipes out of it and a super fun afternoon. BYOB and we're able to finish a bottle of wine while cooking! Haha would definitely recommend and a cute date night out. The spinach carbonara is one of my favorite dinners to make now!!

This was so much fun! Such great dishes and a great way to meet people! We did the New York steak house date night. Yum !!! Our chef was a great teacher and everyone had a great time. I only wish we could stay longer.

Valentines cooking class!

Great selection of cookware and accessories. Loved doing the Valentine cooking class.

This review is specifically for the cooking class: Talk about a fun and educational date night! Whether you're wanting to learn new cuisine techniques with bae or want to become a better cook for your damn self, I vehemently recommend taking a class. My boyfriend and I attended an evening class with Chef Rich. On the menu: Indian cuisine! We made absolutely ravishing butter chicken, veggie curry and homemade naan. AMAZEBALLS. I also noticed classes for baking as well. Pro-tip: cooking classes are BYOB, so bring some wine or beer to pair with your meal.

What an amazing class we had today with Chef Nick! We had a group of 18 people, and all of our group felt like we had all the attention, all the help, he was so patient with us! They also gave us, snacks so we wouldn't be hangry since we were cooking for 1 hour and a half. They served water and coffee. Chefs Nick helpers were very attentive as well. We had the South American Kitchen Steak, we made pupusas with salsa roja, grilled flank steak with chimichurri sauce and warm corn salad and dulce de leche ice cream. Everything was delicious very well thought out menu. After the class you get to enjoy your meal, as well you get 10% off for purchases and if you sign up the same day you get 20% off your next class. We definitely had a blast, and we're so happy that we made the decision to have our outing at Sur La Table with Chef Nick.

Shipping is surprisingly free and the customer service is on point for both the staff in store and the folks handling the online orders. I went to the Highland Village store today to return it with the idea of the purchaser receiving the money back on their credit card and had the receipt and order number in hand. No-go with Crate & Barrel, as the original purchaser must be there, otherwise it is a gift card for store credit. I wasn't asking for cash, just a simple return. The store manager came over, and he came across as very arrogant and condescending. After driving 4 hours for the appointment, my sister, my 3-year-old son, and I waited about an hour before finally seeing him. The consultation itself lasted less than 20 minutes. He simply looked up my partner's A-number and repeated information I had already given him over the phone. Before I made that long trip, he had assured me he could help with this complicated case. Instead, he looked at us and said we didn't look wealthy enough and that I should save my money because we were going to need it. That moment was shocking and deeply hurtful. He never even asked what I did for a living or discussed a fee--he just judged us based on appearance. I own a successful commercial renovation business, but he never cared enough to ask. To make matters worse, he was eating crab rangoon during the meeting, getting crumbs on his shirt, answering phone calls, and sending emails while we were trying to talk about one of the hardest moments of our lives. It felt dismissive and disrespectful, as if our situation didn't matter at all. I met with another attorney afterward. He made no false promises, but he treated us with respect and said he would do everything he could to help. The difference in how we were treated was undeniable. Please don't respond by saying I never had an appointment. I have photos, call records, and proof of the appointment. I hope this review helps other families know what to expect.

Parking: They have a massive parking lot around the main building, as well as parking around the other buildings as well (since the shop covers several buildings and a pretty big area). They also have valet. Selection: Being such a large store, there's a ton of selection. You can spend HOURS shopping here. I rarely make it past the main building since the other parts have mostly furniture, linens, dishware, and such, but one day I do plan to explore all of them! The selection in the main building includes menswear, womenswear, kids, travel, stationary, games, makeup, kitchen appliances, books, pets, and holiday items. When you first enter, the displays there revolve depending on the season. Though a huge selection is great for finding a lot of things, it can also be overwhelming. I also find that they sometimes only have one of an item I'm buying or run out of items. Prices: The prices here are high, but what you would expect for the brands they carry. Service: The service can be hit-or-miss. In my experience you are rarely greeted or checked in on while shopping, which isn't a bad thing (as someone who likes to be left alone while contemplating my purchases I'm all for this!). However it does become an issue when you need help with something. There are also small service related moments that, while not horrible, can be frustrating. Most noteworthy is when you're trying to check out, the lines are more of a mob of people since the way to line up isn't clear (especially at the main central checkout). So you may get skipped or cut and the cashiers don't really handle this. Another issue for me recently was that I opted to get some Christmas gifts gift wrapped in store when the cashier let me know that was an option. Several things went wrong when I tried to pick them up though - First there was again no clear line and I accidentally skipped a lady that was waiting for a while. Then they could not find my items - a quick stop in to pick them up turned quite long because of this. Finally, they were wrapped (though quite well) in plain paper and Kuhl-Linscomb branding. While the branding was fine, the reason I opted for this option was for holiday paper (they were toys for a 2 year old for Christmas). This should have been made clear at the start, because I didn't have time to re-wrap them afterwards. Ultimately it wasn't a big deal, but frustrating to lose so much time to something that I won't be choosing to do again. Overall though I definitely recommend coming here and shopping around!
