Left work 2 hours early to come meet my favorite IG chef Maxine Sharf & Mom Ana at Williams and Sonoma for Maxi's new NYTimes bestseller cookbook Maxi's Kitchen that debuted March 6. The staff was helpful in getting my book for me since arrived early. Bridgett was really helpful while I was waiting to give me some tips on their crepe pans and pans for making eggs. I was 1st in line and Maxi was an amazing person not just online but in person as well. After giving personalized bracelets for Maxi & her mom posed for pictures and met Doug , I continued to browse through this wonderfully laid out store. This store is their flagship store on Westheimer so they have tons of items for cooking and entertaining. Staff was friendly for the most part and willing to offer assistance. So interesting how a person can make or break an experience. Got a gift from a friend, but she did not get a gift receipt. Unfortunately, due to allergies tried to exchange it. But no record of a sale and no gift receipt. Did buy something else, but guess what. They didn't ask my name, email or phone number. Learned that this is how they track purchases, so I immediately returned my items so that they could be purchased with a record of the sale. And when I asked the sales person why she didn't ask for my information, her response? Oops, I forgot to ask. Maybe that's what happened when my friend bought a gift for me. read more

I purchased a Jura S8 coffee machine for $3,299.95 from Williams Sonoma. The receipt clearly stated a 30-day return policy. After taking it home, I quickly realized the milk frother wasn't heating milk properly, despite using the correct settings. For a machine at this price point, not being able to make a properly hot cappuccino is unacceptable. Whether the unit was defective or just poorly designed, I was extremely disappointed. I brought the machine back to Williams Sonoma just two days later to return it and was told they wouldn't accept it because it was "opened." That makes no sense. How else are customers supposed to find out if a product works? This policy is misleading and completely fails to protect the customer. Thankfully, I escalated to the corporate team, who is now trying to resolve the situation properly. Bottom line: do not buy any appliances from retail Williams Sonoma locations. Once you open the box, they'll refuse to help, even if the product is faulty. read more

I attended the loveliest cooking class the past Sunday at Williams-Sonoma. Unbeknownst to me they offer these classes every Sunday at 11 am! The instructor was absolutely wonderful, walked us through every step of the process and answered every question. While we didn't do any cooking ourselves our instructor asked a few of us to participate in the process for a more hands on experience. I'm looking forward to coming back! read more

I purchased over 5k in items and within 8 days brought 1 item back cause it wasn't to my liking and was told they couldn't take back. Their policy states that my item was an approved item to return within 30 days and was told NO! I drove 1 hour to get to this location just to be told NO! Due to my recent eye surgery, my sister ordered on line from Williams Sonoma and had shipped to me three wonderful casseroles. They all can frozen in a insulated package. Some are pop in the oven as is. The one I am sampling tonight, the Chicken and Spinach Lasagna, needed to defrost overnight in the fridge and then pop in the oven. The containers are aluminum but they are more sturdy that what I usually get at the supermarket to make my own casseroles. This chicken and spinach lasagna has lots of melted cheese and a good amount of chicken. It is spiced well and is definitely hitting the spot. There is enough in this tray for an additional five servings! No cooking for a week - thanks sis! read more

I was attracted to Williams Sonoma because I parked across the lot at Highland Village mall. I didn't intend to buy anything because it was too hot outside and I really needed to answer a nature's call. This was my first time shopping at WS. I had no idea everything was so expensive. Ok, among all 54 reviews, only 4 people said expensive. I guess I'm just poor. I had a pleasant surprise by the friendly saleswoman introduced me to Trisha's Kitchen line of products. To tell you the truth, I didn't care about Trisha Yearwood was featured chef on Food Network. I was intrigued by the cocktail mix bottles. Some bottles got price tags but some don't. I was afraid I would accidentally drop it and I have to pay for broken bottles. While browsing the rest of store, I found a fancy cake tray with cooling rack. I didn't think much of it. I gathered them and headed to check out. The bill came to over $50. Oh no. Now I regretted for impulsive shopping. I guess I'll be back to return the pan. The mix was pretty good, actually. It sucks that Williams-Sonoma closed up shop in Augusta, GA but found a WS local in time to grab up some Scarpato Panettone for the holidays. This is the only place I know that carries Traditional Panettone from Italy. They go off the shelves fairly quickly so call ahead to ensure they have some tins left. I always look around for that "something" you need for the aspiring home chef and you can find some great deals on Cutlery if you know where to look. You do not need a whole set of knives in your kitchen, but you do need those Swiss Army knives that do it all with great quality which is where Global comes in with the Global Anniversary 3-pc set. The handles are superbly balanced by the weight of sand in the handle and razor sharp for those precision cuts for fish or vegetables. If you are in a hurry and need a quick meal for the week, head over to their sauces to take your meals to the next level. Check the corners of the store for varying clearance items. read more

THIS LOCATION IS AN ABSOLUTE EMBARASSMENT TO THE WILLIAMS-SONOMA BRAND. No, seriously. I've shopped at W-S locations across the country and used to live and work a stone's throw from their Van Ness corporate offices. The brand prides itself on personable customer service and quality product - this location has the latter, but lacks the former. Big time. Starting with the man with the pony tail who greets you at the front door: - Generous, welcoming greeting into the store that I'm accustomed to? NOPE. - Was he even wearing attire appropriate for W-S? NOPE. - Knowledgeable about product? Eh, somewhat. I asked him about a particular colour of product and he immediately went into "Uh uh, NO" mode and walked away. MAJOR NO. I seriously didn't even make it past the front of the store due to this experience. Came in with a full plan to buy a complete set of kitchenware but ultimately decided to just purchase online from the manufacturer directly. Poor, poor customer service. I guess W-S is struggling to hire quality personnel like other industries. What a pity. I definitely won't be back, but I'm sure the staff here prefers it. read more

I know that parking at this location can be a hassle. But when is parking a breeze, really? I have always had the most pleasant experiences at this location. The store is always clean, well presented, and organized. Everyone that I come into contact with is helpful and eager to help me. Today I saw an R2-D2 apron. Oh my, YES! I got distracted by knives for my eldest son, but I'm going back to get that apron. I love all the gems that WS has. I mean bedroom furniture? I never go in for that in mind, but I always look. And I always come away with at least one sauce. One simmer sauce, a chimichurri or a marinade or a margarita mix or something. And they are always amazing. I bought a set of high quality pots and had a problem with one of them two days after I bought it. I went back to the store to get help with an exchange of the piece or help me find a solution (I had previously called and they told me to bring the whole set and that there was no problem in exchanging it, but it had to be complete, not just one piece). After I arrived, the manager in charge at the time attended to me, who was very rude and did not want to give me a solution. She simply told me that she could not do anything and completely ignored me. I was there for more than 20 minutes until a very kind Venezuelan lady helped me until another manager named Bill arrived. He was very kind and solved the problem. I find it unacceptable that in a store like William Sonoma there is such a bad service as the one this woman offered me. Unfortunately I do not have her name because she ignored me and walked away without being able to see her name on her clothes. All this happened this morning. I hope they correct this behavior that leaves much to be desired. I had a very bad time. Disappointed! read more

I had a very pleasant experience at this location. I was looking for a 6-cup Chemex, which I wasn't able to find on the shelves. The man who helped me was very professional and attentive. He was able to get the Chemex for me from the back of the store. A tip about parking - go straight to the parking garage! The lot right outside the store was completely full when I visited, and several cars were circling the lot trying to get a space. The garage is free, very close by, and I was able to find an empty spot right away. read more

The store is beautiful, plenty of samples over the holidays, great location for parking! Lots of inventory! I have to agree with all the other reviewers before me, the service is TERRIBLE! I asked to have 8 peppermint bark boxes to be gift wrapped. Twenty minutes later, I'm asked how I want them wrapped. Then I waited for another 20 minutes.. and now I'm still waiting. I ordered a kitchen island in Nov 2020, which was delivered today April 30, 2021, and could not be brought into the house through a standard size door. I was also told when I purchased it, that it would be delivered and fully assembled in the kitchen. It was expensive ($4,500), the wait was excessive (more than 6 months), and the service horrible. All of my interactions with William-Sonoma Home furnishings has been horrible. They have no business being in the furniture business. I like their in-store kitchen goods, but home furnishings and service was the absolute worst I have ever experienced. I had to request my money be returned. read more

Degrading. Bad customer service. I brought two items purchased online to return them at the store. I had called customer service beforehand and they assured me that it would be fine/possible to do so before heading out. When I got there, it was sketchy already when I got scolded for not doing the return correctly online. I asked for detail, specifics on what was not correct and the store associate said the return was not fully completed (the return is not complete because the items have not been returned back/received by William Sonoma, in which I was trying to do so). After offering up receipts, email confirms, and return code, he said he doesn't need any of those things and made other remarks while punching away keys at the register, which I mostly ignored because I just want to get it done and leave. Then, he said he would print out a return receipt and walked off. After standing there for 5-10 minutes and noticing him going to another register to check out other customers, one who he was flirting with openly, I asked if I was still waiting on my receipt. He then directed another store associate to print it out for me. The other store associate was caught off guard and quickly came over to help and tried to catch up on what was going on. It took another 15-20 minutes to print out the return receipt, done by another store associate because the initial one decided to walk away and ignore me. It's a bad reflection on the store to have someone so rude work there and also I feel bad for other store associates who have to work with him. read more

I haven't written a review on yelp in over a year, but i'm so sick of this Williams-Sonoma that i've come out of my hibernation to say a few words. This is far and away the most pretentious and snooty Williams-Sonoma i've ever been to (and that's saying something). I realize most guys in their mid 20's don't like to cook and could care less about cooking stores, but i love them. I walked into this store with my Dad over the weekend to buy a Toddy Cold Brew coffee maker. We walked in and i immediately saw the system i was looking for up on display, so i told the guy standing next to the door that i'd like to buy one. He said they were in boxes with the other coffee systems back in the store. We headed toward the back of the store and i didn't see any of what i was looking for among the coffee systems. I made eye contact with a salesperson (middle-aged woman) and signaled that i needed some help. She looked away and pretended to not see me. I walked over to her and asked if they had any more of the toddy makers in stock. She had no idea what i was talking about. She flagged a young guy that worked there, who said they only had one left and it was the display. She walked back up to the front of the store with me, realized it was up pretty high, radioed for someone with a ladder to come get it, and walked away without saying a word to me. About 5 minutes later, the young guy from earlier walked up, jumped up on the counter, got the toddy maker down, set it on the counter next to me, and walked away, all without ever making eye contact or saying anything to me. I assumed he had gone to find the box, so i waited. About 10 minutes later, i was still standing around waiting and it was clear that no one was looking for the box. I walked up to the registers to see if they still had the box and got completely ignored by all 3 sales people behind the counter, who weren't busy helping anyone. Finally, i flagged down the woman that was 'helping' me earlier and asked her if there was a box. She assured me there was no box, and i was just going to have to take the system as it was, and pay full price for it. I explained that there were some critical parts missing and that the system wouldn't work without the missing parts. At this point another sales woman chimed in saying that all of the missing parts could be ordered online with a tone that said 'would you please just get out of here'. I was about ready to walk out and just buy the damn thing on amazon, when i finally convinced the young guy to see if he could find the box, and what do you know, he found it in about 2 minutes, with all of the missing parts. The whole system was dusty as hell, but the woman i had been dealing with the whole time made no effort to wipe it down or clean it up, or even pack it up in the box. This is the 4th or 5th time i've been in here trying to buy something and gotten either totally ignored or very poorly treated by the people who work there as if i have no business shopping at a place like Williams-Sonoma. So i'm done with this place. W-S may have more hardcore foodie and coffee geek gadgets than Sur la Table, but i'm so sick of dealing with them that from now on i'll just get my stuff at Sur la Table or find it online. They can keep their $15 jars of jelly too. read more

One day, I will own a home. And when I do, I probably won't be able to afford the things in Williams-Sonoma. But I will look. And drool. And hope that a rich relative leaves me a bunch of cash to splurge on at this store. Seriously. There are so many goodies to choose from, it is hard to find a place to start. Luckily, my husband is notoriously a kitchen guy. We always start off looking at knives and cutting boards. They have a great selection of knives in all price ranges (though we can usually only afford one knife at a time). I like the cool silicon oven mitts that are all the rage (yes, kitchen mitts can be "all the rage" and I have four colors already). Plus, they have all the cutsie salt and pepper shakers/grinders to look at. Our other favorite section is the room decorations. Curtains would be wonderful to have one day. Or a comforter that doesn't look like it was passed down from three generations ago. Yeah, that would be nice too. Or how about a decorative lamp? But of course, if you get a decorative lamp, you'll need a decorative table. Yep, this can get dangerous. Luckily for us, we usually make it a point to leave the credit cards at home and just dream of owning matching furniture. Until then, we make it a habit to roam through the aisle pretending like we can afford the things here. read more

Me and my boyfriend stopped by at this Williams-Sonoma for an egg poacher (a little bit random?) but since we couldn't find one at Walmart or Target, decided to just stop by since we were in the area. When we came in, no one really greeted us. Maybe because we are in our 20's and they don't think we are worthy enough? I don't want to go too far to this and say it but there were enough workers right there and some were talking to older ladies. We asked right away where we can find an egg poacher. One of the guys guided us to the general area and just pointed at the general area and told me "right there in the middle". At first I picked up an round egg shaper thing when you are frying an egg. Since I have never bought an egg poacher, I obviously didnt know. I was reading the box and found that it wasnt the right one. I had to check the sticker on the piece next to it to find the right one. When we were checking out, we were waiting behind this one lady that were buying a lot of stuff. After she was done, the casher was helping the lady put her stuff in the car so we were just left there to wait. No "will be right back" or anything like that. So we were just waiting there, this one cashier that was at customer service looked at us and just passed us, without asking us if we need help or anything, and went to a different register and started talking to this lady (in 30's or 40's) and started helping her with checking out. I was getting really annoyed. Finally a lady came by and helped us with checking out. She was courteous to us and everything was fine from there, but I don't think I will recommend this place to anyone after the service that they provided to us. Disappointing. read more

The man that waited on me was not only extremely nice, but completely professional. He was able to reorder my item and have me on my way in minutes. I recently got a wedding gift from a friend from here. We didn't need that particular gift so we decided to exchanged it. Because it was a gift it didn't actually come with a receipt (also no gift receipt). But they were able to find the items in their catalog and give us a credit onto a gift card. The process was very smooth. As far as the store, it's a big location in highland village. This area there is so many home stores with really nice stuff. We wouldn't normally buy anything here just because of the prices. But the quality is superb. We ended up getting a nice marble cutting board! read more

Need a $15 melon baller? No? How's about a $300 see through toaster? No? What about pancake molds shaped like Star Wars characters? Ah, I got ya that time! That's pretty much the best way I can describe Williams-Sonoma. There's nothing there you can't live without or get cheaper, more practical versions of elsewhere. That said, I LOVE this store. It's one of the few places my hubby will gladly go shopping with me. He loves kitchen gadgets even more than I do. I now own Star Wars pancake molds (both sets), Star Wars cookie cutters, a uber fancy food processor, and a microplane. Now I just have to figure out what to DO with all this stuff. (Except the pancake molds... use those all the time now.. Darth Vader cakes taste the best.) read more

I love to cook. I love to cook on high-end cookware with utensils that are ridiculously singular even more. I can't help myself. Williams-Sonoma is a lot like Pier 1 in my opinion. You go there for ideas and then buy the cheaper version at JC Penny or Target. Every once in a while I like to splurge and walk out with a big white bag with WS written across it. I went in this Sunday for a purpose. I signed up for a cooking class entitled, "The Perfect Turkey." If you ever been inside a WS you know that behind the counter is a large cooking range where the staff prepares tasters using their latest products and where they offer one hour FREE technique classes. This class was pretty cool. The participants circled around the stove stop and our instructor walked us through the process of roasting the perfect holiday turkey. It was almost like being in the audience of a cooking show on the Food Network. The best part was that we were able to taste the turkey at the end.... DELICIOUS! We also received a 10% coupon for the items that were used during the class and I picked up an All Clad turkey roaster that was already deeply discounted (but still ridiculously overpriced.) I received the 10% discount along with an additional 15% with a coupon. I've always found the staff at this WS very helpful and pleasant. I love the look and feel of the store and the smells! This place always smells like home to me. Again, I'm nowhere near the level of financial freedom or cooking savvy to use WS as an exclusive outfitter for my kitchen but for the occasional gift to myself it's perfect. To me, this store is all about the experience and not necessarily the prices. Sign up for a cooking class if you have an hour on a Sunday afternoon. I think you'll enjoy it. read more

I got an email about how they were going to have a bunch of Artisan vendors at their store this weekend, and I made it a point to show up. Some of the vendors included: - Mabis Patisserie - Tavola Pasta - Viva Villa! salsa I bought stuff from Tavola, two bags of pasta ($8/each, which is a little steep, but considering it's from an "artisan" vendor, I think it's pretty normal). I can't wait to cook something to include this pasta. They had some interesting flavors for the pasta; there was one bag of spinach, bellpepper, and beet pasta. I'm not a big fan of beets or bellpepper, but maybe in the future I'll find it in myself to buy it. I was a little disappointed that they only had one type of pasta for sell (some macaroni twist type, not sure exactly what it's called) because I really wanted to buy some fettucini. I also bought some salsa from Viva Villa. I'm a little disappointed because it tasted different in the store than it does at home... It was spicier in the store when I was sampling it and I wish that heat was included in the one I bought. I really like Williams-Sonoma, but I would caution people from buying cookware in store, as you can buy it online (and usually get free shipping) for about half the price. I shop in store for the smaller items, or things I need for instant gratification. read more

My wife gets VERY nervous when I go to Williams-Sonoma (as she goes to Anthropologie next door) because she never knows what I'll come out with. I constantly resist the urge to buy a brand new set of pots and pans, tableware, and two of every utensil hanging about the shop. I mean, who doesn't need one of "those thingies" or a couple of "that thing there" -- I'll have them when I need them, right? But seriously, the selection is great, and the quality is great. Prices? They're high -- but what did you expect? YOU walked into the "high end" kitchen store that obviously isn't Sam's Club or Targét, so why are you surprised the prices are high? I'm really a fan of Williams-Sonoma during the Holidays. They always have the neatest and (dare I say) cutest (there, I said it) plates and mugs and glasses and coasters and decorative towels and holiday foods and... you get my drift. I also like that they will order things for you and have them delivered to your home (or to their store). Yes, I know you could just order online and skip the trip -- but remember: you didn't know you needed "that doohickie dealio" until you walked into the store and fell in love with the display item. Also, if you were a bore and ordered online -- and you need to return the item -- you can bring your return to the store for a refund. That's always nice. The biggest negative to me is that there can be a LOT of traffic at the registers, which are setup in a somewhat confusing manner. You never really know who's checking people out or where the line is sometimes, and the free-for-all can get frustrating during peak hours. However, the pros far outweigh any cons -- and the location helps a lot, too. All in all, Williams-Sonoma is a solid store that stands behind their solid products and items. The staff is knowledgeable, and I've never had any negative issues at all with this store location (or any other Williams-Sonoma, for that matter). read more

I called today to see if Williams Sonoma has a product and I'm trying to explain it to the young guy that answered and he does not seem to understand; I'm asking him if the store carries any slicers like slicing a whole potato or cut it into cubes and he says, ma'am, do you have access to a computer? (Who doesn't these days?) he cannot understand what I'm trying to tell him so I ask him to transfer me to someone else; he refuses to do that, yet he has no clue what I'm looking for. Awful customer service. I waited for 20 minutes with a huge heavy box in hand to return. No one acknowledged me, when they finally said they could help me around the other side of the counter, by the time I walked over there, which was 5 seconds, they were already about to start helping someone else. Of course that angered those customers, thinking I was cutting them in line and the worker did not bother to explain the situation. She then went on to be extremely rude to me during the check out. I love W-S. I couldn't wait to get married so that I could fill my kitchen with many things from here. Now that I've been married for a couple of years, I love stopping in to pick up new items for entertaining, like the awesome cocktail mixers I got for $2.99. Most of their items are pricey, but if you keep an eye out for sales, you can pick up stuff for an amazing price. I bought diswashing and hand soaps for $2.99 a bottle around Christmas, you really can't beat the price for their signature items! They also offer free cooking mini-classes every Sunday afternoon. Going to Williams Sonoma makes me feel like the organized, put together, 'do everything better guide' poster-child that I am not. I aspire to be like that some day, maybe, but not any time soon. I love that they have every single utensil you might need in the kitchen, and you know that it is going to work because they only carry the best quality... as far as I can tell. I mean, I am sure professional chefs use better stuff, but as I am not running a Zagat rated restaurant, WS is the best to me. Their stuff is pricier than Bed Bath and Beyond, and obviously as a 23 year old, I am not looking to buy any appliances over $1k, but their selection of pots and pans is really great, and their customer service is unparalleled. Other reviewers have pointed out the store's amazing return policy. I have used it in the past for a blender, which I ended up not needing. Currently, I have my eyes on a gorgeous mixer, but I'll have to continue saving up for it. I don't really need it, but it is gorgeous!!!!!!
