They are a local chain with multiple locations throughout Texas, founded nearly 50 years ago and still run by the same family. This location in the Greater Heights area is one of 4 in Houston. Whether it's a fridge on wheels, disposable plasticware, or a nacho cheese dispenser they really have it all. They have commercial grade fryers, heat lamps, all kinds of specialty cutlery, kitchen apparel (#1), sanitation supplies, massive food scales, and so many interesting things that aren't available in most stores. I have only come away from here for utensils and table coverings, but I could envision so much more. Everything can be ordered online through their website for delivery and pickup. Shipping is surprisingly free and the customer service is on point for both the staff in store and the folks handling the online orders. I think the prices are another selling point as what's advertised online is what will be sold in the store. Great spot for restaurant or party supplies just north of I-10 near Heights Boulevard. Staff is super friendly and helpful at finding what you need. On this trip I needed a pump for a 1.75L Tito's bottle of hand sanitizer along with some chafing dishes. Easy in, easy out and on my way. Beats some of the larger box stores and as someone not in the industry, I can still drop in for various necessities. Give them a shot next time you need cups, glassware, cutlery or many other items. Oh how I love everything about the kitchen...especially all the gadgets, even if I know I'm probably not going to use them or even have space for them, I love kitchen stuff (gadgets, pans, baking dishes...you name it!) This place is great for those basic restaurant supplies that you may need at home and the prices are reasonable. It can also tempt you to buy those unnecessary items as well...you know what I'm talking about...the cotton candy machine, the huge popcorn maker, the hot dog cooker thing...in my head I think "ooOoo...I might need those one day if I ever have a festival of some sort." Yea, I know it's just me making excuses to justify my purchase if I ever did purchase such a thing. You know we all do it! I like going here for the baking dishes, gadgets (dishers, spatulas, round cookie/biscuit cutters, etc.), squeeze bottles, and so forth. This place comes in handy if you like to entertain. You can get the aluminum pans and plastic serving utensils for a good price. Holiday time...awesome place to shop! The customer service is hit or miss if you're on a personal mission. I understand that they do cater more towards business related purchases but us individuals would like some attention as well. Other than that...I have no complaints about this place. I would go back as often as I could, but that would probably result in massive amounts of spending and well that's probably not the best idea, especially when you're trying to save money. I've only recently heard about this place, and we paid our 2nd visit today. We don't own a restaurant, and were only shopping for some minor utensils, but I found the place fascinating. i'm one of those people who loves spending hours at sur la table or williams-sonoma. i love kitchenware, especially the expensive stuff - i bought myself a $100 chinois for christmas (and haven't used it). i really don't even spend that much time in the kitchen. could you guys tell? doodes, this place is so awesome. it's like shopping at a costco for restaurant supply stuff. you can find anything related to the food service industry like 3 million types of glassware, cheapo squeeze bottles to pour sauces into to do fancy plate garnishing, tortilla warmers, and probably 10 different machines related to making hot dogs. i don't even like hot dogs that much, but i think it's really cool. today my trip here was to pick up supplies for a bbq party i'm hosting. right when i walked in a friendly employee asked me if i need help. i told her i was looking for disposable paper products. after further inquiry, i told her i needed those silly paper boats that they sometimes serve french fries in at bowling alleys. that's the only way i could describe it. she sent me to the correct aisle and probably saved me 10 minutes of searching for it. this is a big place! i found them pretty easily (250 of them for $11.95, right on!) picked up 1000 disposable plates too. ran into (literally) reese, the owner of etro. said hi but i don't think he recognized me in all that daylight (the hat that he always wears gave him away). so i'm walking up and down aisles with two big bags of stuff and voila! out of no where the super helpful employee is back but this time to take the products out of my hands so i can shop more comfortably. when i arrive at the cashier, she is waiting to ring me up. it was a painless transaction. and then... wait for it... she picks up the stuff and tells me that she's going to carry it out to my car for me. um, wow! the funny thing was she's a tiny little thing. i probably could have carried HER carrying my stuff out to the car myself. 5 stars for their selection of products & value. 5 stars for service. in this case, it still just makes 5 stars. read more

No one loves Sur La Table or Williams-Sonoma more than I do, but for more "pedestrian" things, picnic-type items, or when I just don't want to spend a lot of money, I go to Ace. This place is large, more warehouse-type interior, no fancy decorating, adorable merchandising, or free special coffee. Instead, you get more utilitarian, restaurant-type items. They have aprons, pots, pans, serving dishes, coolers, refrigerators, utensils and such. They lease items, too. The staff are friendly, helpful, not pushy. I love this place! This is my 'inside the loop' restaurant supply place. The staff is always extremely friendly. You can't sneak in and sneak out without meeting a smiling face somewhere. Once I thought that I had slipped in and then to the very back aisle to get some plastic cups only to be met with a customer service person double-checking to make sure that I was okay. They have just about everything that you could possibly need for a restaurant. Their prices are not the best, but you don't walk out feeling that you have been ripped off either. A good thing about Ace Mart is that they are open to the general public, unlike some other places. Went online to Ace Mart, made an order on 04/17. On 04/18 got an update there would be an delay due to the changing of distribution centers. I had not gotten any tracking information so I called and spoke with a rep named Rodney he sent me an email after our conversation that order would be pulled and shipped today. DID NOT HAPPEN , I did not get any tracking information so I called again 05/04 spoke with Rodney again. He stated the order was not shipped at all and he would call me back with an update. DID NOT HAPPEN. So I called again spoke with a young lady there she in turn spoke with Rodney and replied there was not update. Over 20 days and not updates on anything. I know the order was not a $1000.00 order . Don't you value all your customer big or small? I cancelled the order there was little to no apology. Wont do business with them again . read more

I've been going here for 5 years buying cleaning supplies for my business, which isn't a restaurant. I go today to buy a new push broom head to replace the dirty one on my broom now. I bought the handle and every head I've ever bought from this place for 5 years. They only have one left of the size I need, and it's not in a plastic package and it's got some dirt on it, looks like it fell on the floor and got dirty. Not terrible but questionable if it should be with the others that are for sale. Needing one I ask if they'll give me a discount on this one since it's open package and already has some dirt on it. The response was "Aren't you going to go get dirt on it anyway?" Uh... yeah. That's what it's for. But it's not going to last as long as a clean one. "I'll give you 5% (equal to 50 cents), we use them here too so we can just use it." Well then you just use it, and while you are you can think of all the times you won't see me here again. Seriously, this place prides itself on customer service and that's the attitude? And if she'd said 10% of 15%, a WHOLE dollar or dollar and a half, it would have been fine with me. It's the principle of paying full price for something that isn't in full price condition. AND I've bought probably 100 of these things over the past 5 years, so you can't throw me a friggin' dollar? And your markup on these is probably 70% so one dollar off an open and already dirty broom head is not likely to bankrupt the place. So thanks for making my 15 minute drive out of the way to your location a complete waste. And thanks for me now having to find a new place because I won't go someplace that treats me, or others, this way. You lost a sale and a long term customer for $1. Good job. read more

i love this place. i get small portion cups (for jello shots) with lids. ok, i have to get 200 of them, but worth it! plus i get to go containers for cupcakes. i make them all the time n the containers r great. no need to wait for my travel container to empty.....just leave togo boxes full of cupcakes! n the gadgets.....tongs r prob my fav. all kind of cute serving dishes n ramakins(sp?). non stop store for those who love kitchen stuff! read more
