Really cool restaurant with an interesting concept of all vegetarian and vegan diner type foods. The yuba sandwich was pretty bitter from the broccoli rabe but I did really enjoy it overall. The chickpea was sausage was also super interesting and I think it was overall the most interesting Vega sandwich I've ever had. The ice creams were also pretty good. Overall service was decent and the food was good but it was definitely overpriced.

The service is always quick. The atmosphere is a laid back, classic diner. The burger is my favorite sandwich. The tofu sandwich was substantial, but not too much flavor. The burger is smoky. You can never miss with their fries. The date shake is excellent.

I discovered Superiority Burger upon attending a birthday celebration and was pleasantly surprised from appetizers through entrees. The vegetable dishes were absolutely delectable, with enough spicy options and substantial umami components to consider becoming vegetarian. I had the burger, thinking that it would be the best thing on the limited menu, especially given the name of the restaurant. But trying a bit of other guests' made me second-guess myself. The space was cozy and stylish, low-key and comfortable. I'd consider having my own birthday dinner here next time!

This spot was easily in the Top 3 meals I had on my last trip to NYC! I still can't figure out how a vegan place can taste this good, but seriously, everything was absolutely amazing. Major credit goes to the locals who introduced me to this restaurant and, more importantly, took charge and ordered for the table! Every single dish was incredible, showcasing flavors that were completely new and exciting. I wish I could remember the specific names of the dishes, but the plates were works of art. My photos will definitely be my guide if I'm lucky enough to visit NYC again!

The worst tofu sandwich I ever had was at summer camp: an impromptu slab of grilled tofu slathered with mustard over a bun, prepared when I told the inexperienced chef that I was vegetarian. The tofu sandwich at Superiority Burger is certainly an improvement, but it still does employ mustard. After undergoing a lengthy marination, the briney tofu is deep fried to give the texture of a chicken sandwich. It's a hefty, decadent affair, although I wish just a bit of the tofu's naturally soft texture had been preserved in the cutlet's interior. My favorite bite of the evening was actually the Marcella beans with escarole and focaccia. It was like a deconstructed, improved ribolita.

Been dying to go here ever since their NYT food review. Managed to snag a reservation for 4 here Friday night. My husband is primarily a vegetarian so it was really nice to sit down somewhere where they can even make most things vegan. The atmosphere is that of an old school dinner but the prices do not match. The food is good and we were all happy with what we got. 3 out 4 of us got the burger and my husband got the TFT. Dang $22 for a burger and fries - woof. Understandably everything is more expensive these days and overall was happy with the dining experience.

The TFT is my absolute favorite, super filling very accommodating of allergies hot butterscotch date cake is one of my favorite desserts ever!! sides i've tried: - burnt broccoli: okay, would pass on in the future - rancho gordo marcella beans: surprisingly good! very warm and hearty - pumpkin: also surprised me considering i don't like pumpkin very much usually not too hard to get a seat either!

Superiority Burger is worth the hype. The vibe is fun, the food is good, and the staff are friendly. I did find the prices to be high though. Ordered: House salad for two ($19)- this salad was quite large! In fact it was more salad than the two of us wanted and we love salad! It was enjoyable for sure. The carrot ginger dressing was fresh, the focaccia breadcrumbs added a nice crunch and the pickled fennel was a tasty addition, albeit not too strongly flavored. The dressing was so flavorful that by the time we were nearing our last bites we had had enough. Superiority burger ($22)- this burger was delicious. It was one of the better vegetarian burgers I've had for sure! However it was small! I would have ordered a second if it wasn't so pricey. The fries were also delicious. Date shake ($14)- I wasn't sure what I was expecting but the date shake was different, in a positive way! It's vegan. It tasted like coconut with nice small pieces of date to bite into along the way plus a hint of orange zest. Fancy dessert ($17)- I don't know what I was expecting, but this didn't strike me as fancy... it was a square of chocolate cake with a small scoop of ice cream, whipped marshmallow, hot fudge and whipped cream. It was an enjoyable vegan dessert but wasn't memorable or special in my view. Next time I'll try the pearl pie. Overall, my first visit to Superiority Burger was enjoyable and I likely would return! I might order a little differently, such as switching up the dessert, but this is definitely a place to add to your list.

Super surprised by the mixed reviews. I wasn't expecting much from this place, but a friend recommended we go and honestly it blew me away. I didn't know veggie burgers could be this delicious. We had the collard greens sandwich, superiority burger, and side of broccoli. Everything was so freaking amazing. The ambiance had diner vibes and the service was good. I really enjoyed my meal and would go back in a heartbeat.

As a meat eater, this spot was on my radar after Pete Wells gave his stamp of approval. Truly the best vegetarian burger I've ever had. A quirky diner spot with so many delicious veggie and vegan options. Not a spot for those with a peanut allergy as everything in the kitchen has touched peanuts per the chef, which was sad for my friend. Service was so friendly! Glad I tried it, but probably will not return as I am not a diner gal usually.

I never really cared for the famous vegetarian burger that Superiority Burger is named for, but I spent years going to their tiny takeout window on 9th Street. I couldn't resist their TFT (tofu fried tofu) sandwich and that incredible charred broccoli salad. Chef/owner Brooks Headley would always create something amazing from whatever he found at the local greenmarket. We all knew he could work magic in the kitchen, even though he barely had any space to work with. When I heard they were moving into the old Odessa Diner space with a real kitchen, I couldn't wait to see what they'd do. I've been there quite a bit now - for brunch, dinner, and plenty of dessert runs. The food is good, but the desserts are really what keep me coming back. I loved the waffle with guava butter, and they make this wonderful collard greens sandwich on the most delicious focaccia bread. Some things weren't quite as exciting - the lentils with cornbread didn't do much for me, and the Sloppy Dave was forgettable. The TFT is still perfect though. I wouldn't bother with the house-made soda. The desserts are really something special. I regularly buy their ice cream by the pint. The labne flavor is my favorite. It's creamy and tart in all the right ways. I tried their pandan box pie and raspberry tart too, and they were both incredible. I keep finding reasons to go back for more. I really love what they've done with the space. They kept all the campy charm of the old Odessa Diner, and it feels so comfortable and welcoming when you're there.

This was a wonderful and surprising experience. Honestly, the best vegan food I have ever tasted. I am not vegan but I like to try alternatives to meat and dairy. This restaurant gives a diner feel on the inside. Reminds me of my favorite diner spots in New Jersey. They have a regular menu and then specials that change on a daily basis. I recommend following their instagram because you will see the new menu options they serve. They post all the time. They typically have their cheesy bread which tastes exactly like dairy cheesy bread, I was very impressed. They also have many dessert options, as you can see we tried all three hahaha and these change as well. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back. This is a great spot for vegans and non vegans, they do a wonderful job at making it taste like the real thing.

Wow that burger was phenomenal! The bun was so soft and the burger has the perfect ratio of toppings, to burger to bun. The fries were also fantastic! We loved the special coconut curry dish too, really flavorful!

I ended with something so unnecessary and so wonderful, I'm glad I did it: The sticky toffee pudding. Just pure delight. It was relatively quiet when I was there. Funny enough, we met our only other vegan friend there. So, from the vegan perspective, this is a popular and tasty place. We started with drinks, being lunchtime, we opted for non alcoholic drinks, the matcha colada and the salty maple macchiato. The matcha colada had a nice color but tasted mostly like coconut and pineapple which was still yummy. Friends ordered 3 different kinds of sushi and dan dan noodles with tofu. I was confused with the sushi as I thought vegans didn't eat fish...so yes I asked and was told that they probably made the "fish" with tapioca. I did try a bite of each roll (I was still full from the fest) and I was surprised that it tasted pretty good. They did a nice job with the roll and presentation. The matcha cheesecake was nice and creamy. I would not have known it was vegan. I don't normally like food that pretends to be something else because it usually doesn't live up to the real thing. The idea is that it is not pretending to be something but rather substituting with vegan options, I do think from a health perspective, I am more open to trying more vegan foods. Ambiance felt upscale and wait staff were helpful and congenial. I hear dinner time gets packed here. I may have to try again when I have not eaten already.

So what is Le Botaniste? It's an organic, plant-based, and carbon-neutral cafe with locations in NYC and a couple in Europe. So everything is vegan. Everything is organic. The calories and other dietary information are listed on the menu. I had their Chef Priyanka Samosa Bowl (a seasonal offering), which includes brown rice, saag, samosa balls, crispy chickpeas, turmeric onions, tamarind and green chutneys, and yogurt raita. It is 433 calories and 12 grams of protein. I thought it was good - although I thought the samosa balls were quite dry (the chutneys, saag, and raita helped), and I liked that it was light and healthy and wouldn't slow me down for the rest of my busy day. I also grabbed a water and a quinoa peanut butter cookie that I saved in my bag for later. (I noticed that they had some wines that I would have been happy to try - if you eat in, you can have a full experience with a drink.) I showed up right at 11 when they opened, and there was only one other customer. My bowl was ready in seconds and I was out the door and across the street seated in Bryant Park within a minute or two. The reservation email said they would hold the table for 15 minutes, and we arrived at about 9:43 after getting stuck in traffic. We were still within that window, but as soon as we checked in, the host immediately told us the kitchen was closing in one minute and that the bar would close in about 20 minutes, so we needed to place our food order right away. It made the meal feel rushed from the moment we arrived. The restaurant was virtually empty, but we were seated directly next to the bathroom. There were clearly plenty of other seating options available, which made that choice even more frustrating. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable bathroom odor from our table, which was really unpleasant and not what I would expect from a restaurant at this price point. Servers were also constantly going back and forth between the dining room and what seemed to be either a storage or cleaning area near the bathroom, so in addition to the odor, there was steady foot traffic throughout the meal. There were also papers or sugar packets underneath the table next to us, which added to the feeling that the dining room was not being carefully maintained. We ordered the paella, fig toast, and Calabrian flatbread. The food itself was fine in terms of flavor, but the rest of the experience made it feel understated and much less enjoyable than it should have been. The paella and toast came out quickly, and then we waited about 45 minutes for the flatbread. During that time, no one checked in, explained the delay, or asked how anything was. We honestly thought the flatbread had been forgotten. Then, after that long wait, the flatbread and dessert were brought out almost at the same time. The server explained that the kitchen was telling them to bring everything out at once. We had also ordered a bottle of Lambrusco, but it was not available, so we were given a different wine instead. Overall, the pacing and service felt very disorganized. We were rushed to order immediately, then largely ignored for the rest of the meal. No one asked how the food was, no one checked on the delay, and the timing of the final dishes made the meal feel chaotic rather than enjoyable. Even though the food was fine, the experience around it really took away from the meal. I also think there is a practical issue with the reservation timing. If the kitchen closes 15 minutes after the last available reservation, it does not make sense to offer a 15-minute grace period. Either the final seating should be earlier, or the kitchen should remain open long enough to properly serve guests who arrive within the stated reservation window. For a restaurant with Avant Garden's reputation and price point, I expected a much more thoughtful and polished experience. I wanted this to be a special birthday dinner, but we left feeling disappointed. I don't feel eager to return, and based on this visit, I would have a hard time recommending it to vegan friends.

It does well with doing the whole "fusion" schtick without losing the essence and flavor of the dishes. Pad Krapoa Moo Krob, the meat on the pork belly was so juicy - the pork skin was crunchy and chewy at the same time, flavors of Thai spice, basil, and bell peppers harmoniously working together to bring a balanced meal. The shrimp basil fried rice was delicious, a great alternative if you're not feeling the crab fried rice. The service at Obao is always prompt and helpful, whether it's questions about the menu or recommendations, anyone is willing to help. Inside Oboa is dimly lit, a moody vibe that is fun and invites playful conversations.

The hostess stated how she had a long reservation list, but was able to get us right in! Once we sat down, our server, Spaghetti, came over to us. He was extremely friendly and took our drink orders right away. I ordered an Espresso Martini, and it was delicious. My father ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which was extremely tasty. For our entrees, my mother ordered the Pad Thai, and my father and I ordered the Pho Bó. My mom absolutely loved the Pad Thai! The Pho Bó was incredible. The broth was so delectable, and it was honestly the best broth that I have ever had. The portions were also incredible, especially for the price and being in the city! Once we received the check, we noticed that next to the Pho Bó, it stated that it is Michelin Recommended, and we completely understand why! We are looking forward to going back!
