    Several weeks after Superior Softwash came to my home and softwashed the roof I noticed browning on shrubs in the front of my home. Close to a month later my 25+ year old Norway Spruce and Blue Spruce turned brown almost overnight. I have also noticed a potted weeping Alaskan Cedar start to fail. I, as well as my landscaping crew, regularly water my property as I have thousands of dollars invested in decidous trees and shrubs as well as numerous mature conifers in my yard. My Baltimore County water bill is a good indicator of how I religiously water my landscape! I have employed Davey Tree Service, a licensed aborist, at my home for over 30 years. They come to my home during the Spring through fall seasons to inspect, fertilize and treat my landscape on a regular schedule. Davey Tree Service, as well as my landscaping company, were at my property just prior to the softwashing job. No damage to any plant material was seen at the time. After each visit I get oral as well as written reports from both parties in regard to any noticable plant/tree/shrub problems. When both returned in late August their reports noted the damage to trees and shrubs, as well as some perennials planted near my home. Another written opinion was sent to me from the arborist at the local Davey Tree service who came out specifically to inspect the damaged conifers. He supported all findings of the Davey Crew and the landscaping team servicing my property. The contract I signed with Superior Softwash was executed on my part, based soley on the promise that there would be, specifically, no damage to my "high value" (their words) landscape or koi pond. I spoke with their agent/salesman, in great detail about this and repeatedly noted that I had many valuable specimin trees and did not want to risk damaging or losing them. He added an addendum to the contract which stated "Guarantee Deluxe Plant Care - Significant/high value landscaping - water/neutralize/fortify - no plant loss guarantee - $75." He stated that his company had worked at numerous homes in Potomac, Maryland with similiar landscapes to mine and there had never been any problems. I asked him if this (the "guarantee" for which I was paying extra) was, in effect, like insurance against any potential damage to my landscape. His answer was "yes". There was never once any mention that damages had to be reported within a specific time when paying this additional fee. (Their site manager quoted a time frame of 10 days in an email after the damage appeared, while their standard written contract stated 14 days after completion for reporting damages.) I am not sure why I was charged an additional amount for what I perceived to be liability insurance when they would not honor the "Guarantee" added to the contract. I based my decision to employ their services ONLY after their agent added the "guarantee" which never included any time frame. Had he told me I would not be covered for any damages that presented after 10 or 14 days I would have never signed their contract. Conifers, especially more mature established trees, do not always show damage until a month or more. I did call another softwashing company to ask about their guarantees and I was informed that no softwashing company can guarantee against plant damage and they were surprised that I was given a guarantee by another company as they had never heard of such a thing in their industry. I reported the damage to the agent (my only contact with the company at the time) as soon as I noticed it. He referred me to a woman in their office. I left a message for her and when I heard back the next week I was told the site manager would come out the next day to take a look. Nobody ever called or showed up the next day. I left messages again that week but got no response. After Davey Tree came out the following Monday to give their opinion as to the cause of the brown trees I contacted the office again. The woman in the office said she would leave a message again for the site manager. Instead, I asked for the site manager's direct phone number as it had been 12 days since I first reported the problem. I was ready to call my attorney at this point as it seemed they were avoiding me. When I finally got an email from the site manager later that day he said I was out of the "10 day warranty" period but he would send his "plant crew" out to "hydrate the landscape and give nutrients to the plants that are in need of a little encouragement to bounce back". I declined as my entire yard had already been fertilized recently and more fertilizer would kill more of the trees, shrubs and plants in my landscape. I asked again for him to come out and see the damage first hand. At this point I was told, to stop bothering him and his co-workers in their office as I was harrassing them! I will now have to bear the brunt of a very expensive bill to clean up the mess. I spent almost $2.600. for their service and the clean up will be more than 5 times that.

    Your team, with Max, came to softwash my house back at the end of August. It still looks FANTASTIC. They were very hard-working and took great care to do a very thorough job -- believe me, we hadn't washed our house in 5 years, so it really needed it. This has really helped with the mildewy smell we had before -- all smells really fresh now and looks so much more presentable. Plus, now we can tell what wood needs to be replaced -- no hiding it! Plus, both of these guys were intelligent and great to talk to! Will definitely use again. Thanks Max & Superior SoftWash!

For backstory: We had a leak coming into our home for a few months before their service. Since they offered a complete evaluation of the roof and gutter area, I decided to go with this team. When they finished, I reached out to receive their report via email. It came back saying everything was in good shape, so we had a contractor come out to take another look. Turns out the repair needed was so obvious to the contractor (from two stories below) that he didn't even have to use his drone to evaluate the damage. It's hard to wonder how these professionals missed such a glaring problem. Just yesterday, we had a handyman come out to do the repair and while up on the roof they noted that we even had a tile completely broken in half just above the damage to the soffet and fascia (of which you could see from below). In a sentence: This team cleans gutters, if you are in need of a reliable inspection/maintenance evaluation--I suggest you go with someone else.
