That company was Elite. They responded to my quote request quickly and spoke with me about what I needed help with. Through the Angie's list website I sent a request to have someone get back to me. Since it was Sunday I knew it wouldn't be until Monday before I heard from anyone. Well I was WRONG! The email was sent at 11:30 am and I received a response at 1:00 pm that they could come out on Monday (the next day) and what time would be good for me? Wonderful!! They also explained there was a $65 service call, and that would get credited back if my repair cost over $75. I said in my email I understood and I think that is very fair. Monday morning we received a phone call from Norm at around 8:30 and we had an appointment for that day between 1-3. Norm called later to let us know closer to which time he'd be and then he called to let us know he was on his way. Excellent communication. He arrived, and in today's new normal, he was CDC compliant. He was very friendly and professional. We showed him where to go and he went to work on my 13 yr Amana fridge which hasn't given me one problem since the day it was purchased. He looked at everything. My husband was asking questions and Norm wasn't just an inexperienced guy they sent out. He knew his business and was showing my husband which worked with what, what was supposed to be working etc.. Alas, in the end, there was nothing even the experienced Norm could do. My Amana died. She died with dignity, though, and we were not forced to subject her to hundreds of dollars of needless repairs that would have done no good. Norm probably could have tried to make some "repairs" and charge us but he is honest. I will keep High Desert Appliance Repair in my contact list and when something breaks, which it will something always does, this company will get my business.

E&J service work is friendly and efficient, and they regularly go the extra mile to do more for less. They are also quick to let us know when it's a better value to replace an appliance than it is to fix one. We should have written the above review some time ago; but what occurred yesterday was outstanding. We had a dishwasher throw a fatal code earlier this week. E&J told us it was time for a new machine and recommended a well known appliance store here in town. When that store's installers couldn't remove the old dishwasher without damaging our kitchen, Ernie, the Owner of E&J came to our home himself and took care of the problem free of charge. We don't expect free work from valued suppliers and insisted Ernie take something for his service; but what a difference E&J is from the big appliance store installers who demanded more money for a job they couldn't do without damaging our home. Thank you Ernie and thank you E&J!
