I have had my vehicles serviced at more than 15 repair shops during my 28 years living in the Twin Cities metro area and Mendota Heights Auto Service has become the only place I will bring my cars for work. Sean and his team are very courteous, punctual, honest, ethical, and proficient at offering explanation of problems/repairs (which I need because I'm not a car expert). This Review may seem full of superlatives but it reflects how I genuinely feel. About 6 months ago I had work done on my car at a major Twin Cities car dealership service center (where I had a discount coupon). A few weeks later my tire (that I had paid to be fixed) fell off while the car was in motion. Luckily for me I did not sustain any serious injuries and I had no family members in the car at the time of the incident. I was told I needed new rear brakes, so I planned to replace them myself on Saturday, 12/29/25. When I went to start the job, my security socket was nowhere to be found. So much for my Saturday project. The shop was closed for the weekend, so I couldn't resolve it. I met with the owner, Dan, on Monday. He ordered a new set of security lugs in hopes that the key would work. It did not. The tech had misplaced my original key during the brake inspection. Needless to say, it was a major inconvenience--and I didn't receive so much as an apology from the owner. This was my experience as a first-time customer. A $50-off coupon will not bring back my business.

So, I waited and my car sat there for two and a half days. When I finally called them, they claimed they had called me, as if cell phones don't show all incoming calls and why wouldn't they leave a message. SECOND, the estimate was way over the top and so expensive that I almost choked while talking to him. It was the cost of the lower end of a newer vehicle. I could not believe it and he spoke to me like it was normal and I was stupid. I immediately had my vehicle towed from there to another business who did it for a third of the price and they listened, cared and understood the circumstance and knew my ultimate goal. Basically, an older vehicle and needed to get it repaired, presentable and driving but not only that, wasn't giving me a line of bull by saying 'parts are so expensive'. BOTTOM LINE, Superior Collision was gauging me on parts, labor and everything in between. You name it, they were charging me for it and on top of it, they have a clause in small print that says it doesn't include hidden or underlying issues that they don't see. So there could've been possibly more charges had I agreed to allow them to do the work. Honestly, I think they saw a woman in a dire situation who needed her car fixed and she was willing to pay and needed it done now and thought she'd foolishly pay it. And if this is I'm not sure what they have going on but I will never consider them in the future nor will I ever refer anyone there. I'm all for supporting local businesses but I can't and will not support businesses that take advantage of consumers who are placing their trust in them. They're in the business to help people and much of the time it's due to unfortunate situations and rather than help, they choose to do the opposite. Shame on them!

He was proactive, helpful, and immediately offered several solutions. He reimbursed my visit, offered to have the car re-examined and was extremely kind and effective in working through this. Honestly, it was a bad experience and they're even more untrustworthy than dealerships. I brought my car in for an oil change, tire rotation and to look into an acceleration issue I was having. When I got the call with the estimate from Chris, I was told I needed a new timing chain, that it was urgent and that it would be $5000. When I asked questions Chris was shifty and had very little details, and when I pressed for more answers he said if I didn't do it it wouldn't be drivable and that he does these "once a week with my kind of car". I felt very uneasy with him, didn't believe him, picked up my car (after paying $300 for the oil change, rotation and engine diagnostic which told them nothing) and brought it to the Honda dealer. The dealership ran a new diagnostic (for less money than superior charged me) and found the real issue. There's NOTHING wrong with my timing chain. There was a tear in an engine air tube that was causing the weakness, a $300 repair vs the $5000 superior wanted for a new chain. Superior just chose the easiest, most expensive thing to tell me without actually examining my car to see what was wrong. I sent an email to admin@superior and never received a response. They sent a text asking if I liked my service and when I said no and that I had complaints, there was no response. Really terrible service - and they didn't even fill up my tires with the correct amount of air. Who knows if they even rotated them?? I'll never go back. After the oil change and before I left, they gave me a list of things that were "wrong" ($5800) with my car. One major one was the valve cover gasket leaking. ($1700+) Leaving Honest 1 with a terrible feeling in my gut, I decided to go to get a different quote. That is where All Imports & Domestic came into play. I called them and talked to Michael and we scheduled for me to come in that day to have them look at the quote I got from Honest 1. I knew I needed new tires and some front end work (Thanks MN roads) and Michael suggested that they clean my entire engine and put dye in the oil to see where the leak(s) and coming from. He sent me a quote for the engine dye, front end work and new tires and on Tuesday of this week, I dropped my car off, hoping they didn't find the problems the Honest 1 told me about. Michael called me in the afternoon to tell me that it wasn't necessary to do the dye test because it is a very minimal leak and that also saw that my car had the wrong size tires on there...so he ordered ones that were right. I picked up my car and had a bill that was a little more then one of the jobs Honest 1 would have done that wasn't needed. This is going to be my forever go to place when I need a oil change or anything else for my current and future cars. I have also had neighbors bring there cars here and how I came to use them in the first place and over the last 20 years we have used them on and off. Never had any issue nor have any neighbors. I definitely would recommended this shop as trustworthy, reliable and dependable which I can tell you is not the case with all places you might consider in Eagan. One place I would stay away from and this is getting side tracked but a relatively new chain which has two locations in Eagan and while I wont explicitly name them I'll just say this about them. They are not HONEST and they market themselves as being that along with being women friendly repair shop. I have first hand experience, knew a person that was honest and worked there and left because he could not in good conscience do what they were asking of him. One being constantly up selling folks and trying to get unneeded work done. My experience along with friend who worked there has also been collaborated by neighbors and friends in the community. They have already gone through one owner but the new ones were no different in my opinion. Ok, I digress but try these guys are the complete opposite so out before you try any place claiming to be HONEST try the guys out or any other place for that matter.
