**Edited to say that after my initial review I was contacted by Tony at Superior Auto. He took the time to ask questions, look into the business records, speak to employees that handled my vehicle, and request all the information so he could fully understand what went wrong with my visit. He was proactive, helpful, and immediately offered several solutions. He reimbursed my visit, offered to have the car re-examined and was extremely kind and effective in working through this. I appreciated the response and his great demeanor, so I have changed my review rating.** Please go anywhere but superior for your car repairs! Honestly, it was a bad experience and they're even more untrustworthy than dealerships. I brought my car in for an oil change, tire rotation and to look into an acceleration issue I was having. When I got the call with the estimate from Chris, I was told I needed a new timing chain, that it was urgent and that it would be $5000. When I asked questions Chris was shifty and had very little details, and when I pressed for more answers he said if I didn't do it it wouldn't be drivable and that he does these "once a week with my kind of car". I felt very uneasy with him, didn't believe him, picked up my car (after paying $300 for the oil change, rotation and engine diagnostic which told them nothing) and brought it to the Honda dealer. The dealership ran a new diagnostic (for less money than superior charged me) and found the real issue. There's NOTHING wrong with my timing chain. There was a tear in an engine air tube that was causing the weakness, a $300 repair vs the $5000 superior wanted for a new chain. Superior just chose the easiest, most expensive thing to tell me without actually examining my car to see what was wrong. I sent an email to admin@superior and never received a response. They sent a text asking if I liked my service and when I said no and that I had complaints, there was no response. Really terrible service - and they didn't even fill up my tires with the correct amount of air. Who knows if they even rotated them?? I'll never go back. I would NEVER recommend SUPERIOR COLLISION to anyone. FIRST, they didn't even call or email to give me an estimate and in the circumstance of a damaged vehicle, time is of essence and very important. So, I waited and my car sat there for two and a half days. When I finally called them, they claimed they had called me, as if cell phones don't show all incoming calls and why wouldn't they leave a message. Especially since the front desk person had left me a message the day my vehicle was dropped off there so my information was in the system. SECOND, the estimate was way over the top and so expensive that I almost choked while talking to him. It was the cost of the lower end of a newer vehicle. I could not believe it and he spoke to me like it was normal and I was stupid. I immediately had my vehicle towed from there to another business who did it for a third of the price and they listened, cared and understood the circumstance and knew my ultimate goal. Basically, an older vehicle and needed to get it repaired, presentable and driving but not only that, wasn't giving me a line of bull by saying 'parts are so expensive'. BOTTOM LINE, Superior Collision was gauging me on parts, labor and everything in between. You name it, they were charging me for it and on top of it, they have a clause in small print that says it doesn't include hidden or underlying issues that they don't see. So there could've been possibly more charges had I agreed to allow them to do the work. Honestly, I think they saw a woman in a dire situation who needed her car fixed and she was willing to pay and needed it done now and thought she'd foolishly pay it. And if this is I'm not sure what they have going on but I will never consider them in the future nor will I ever refer anyone there. I'm all for supporting local businesses but I can't and will not support businesses that take advantage of consumers who are placing their trust in them. They're in the business to help people and much of the time it's due to unfortunate situations and rather than help, they choose to do the opposite. Shame on them! read more

If I could give 20 stars, I would! When I accelerated, my car would start shaking. It was intermittent in the beginning, and then it started happening all the time. It really scared me, honestly! I called a different service station and they couldn't get me in until Thursday of the following week. This happened to be a Friday. So that was an entire week, I would have to drive this way, which was alarming to me. I called Superior, and they were able to get me in the SAME DAY! I was absolutely Amazed! I brought my car in and they were able to diagnose the issue within an hour. AC brought me out to the garage personally to show me what and why this part needed to be replaced. He also explained to me, how it could've possibly happened. I have never ever had anyone that was fixing my car, bring me to the garage and show me what needed to be fixed. Wow! They told me it would take a couple hours to fix. And they offered to bring me home and pick me up later after my car was repaired. They called me a few hours later to let me know that the part wouldn't arrive for another four days. They came and picked me up, brought me back to the shop and gave me a courtesy car to use for FOUR days. Wow!! Superb Customer Service!!! Turns out the part came in early, and I was able to pick it up two days later. Outstanding!! They had also noticed, that my passenger mirror had broken off. All the wires were still attached, so it just needed to be glued back on. They glued it back on for me with no charge! I want to sincerely thank AC and the whole crew at Superior! We had a motor replaced by Superior and have had nothing but trouble with it since. Now something else is wrong and they can't figure out what it is. Told us they cant determine what it is as the security system is locking the car down and now they want to replace a part / sensor for $2000.00 but if it is not what is wrong we still need to pay for it even though they say they cannot get the reading before they replace it. I had my pick up truck in for minor body repair rear bumper and straighten right side box when I picked it up I did not really inspect it since I just walked in paid my insurance deductible and they had someone bring the truck up. Pretty much here are the keys see ya. After getting a chance to look it over good I found the following problems. The back up camera was not working (wires hanging down under bumper) There were a couple spots in the paint finish that had dust or dirt in it. They had to replace the rear bumper and the center step pad was a bad fit the center of it was warped upward. There is a clear chipguard decal in front of the tire they replaced and that was full of wrinkles.(should be smooth). There was a couple small paint chips in the finish close to the repair area that instead of sanding them out they just painted over them. I did take it back to have these problems corrected. they did fix the step pad and buffed out the dust spots. After I got it back I found a couple new specks of dust in the finish. They did replace the clear chip guard decal but that still has wrinkles in it not as bad as the first time but still noticeable. The shop person I talked to when I brought it back to show them the issues I had was kind of defensive and argumentative. I do have to say they at least gave me a rental for the time they had to have my truck for the redo of there poor work. I did try to post a bad review on this business web site but apparently they only publish reviews that are 4-5 star ratings read more

Daren is an actual godsend. He and Superior were so easy to work with! I got rear ended on Halloween, and they literally handled everything. They talked to the insurance companies for me, were able to send the estimate straight to them, and take the payment straight from the company too, which meant I could just focus on going to work and the chiropractor and not be running around and on the phone all the time. My car looks even better than it did before I got rear ended, and they even cleaned it- inside AND out! I only wish getting parts for a Renegade didn't take so long, but it is not Superior's fault they are made in Italy! read more

Brought my car in with electrical problems covered under warranty. Their customer service was top notch. Their inspection found a bad alternator, they were able to work with my warranty company, get the part and replace it within 5 hours despite being fairly busy. They were very good about communication and providing updates, so I cannot recommend them enough. First rate service, skill, and customer service. It is very rare indeed that someone writes a compliment about a car repair much less even more so a body shop but this place is two in one! Why I'm A Fan: The horror story turned dream: I had a repair done at a different shop on my car after a somewhat less than competent driver ran into me (No its not because I am an Asian and we are a notorious race for not driving well). The insurance company covered the costs but what after looking at the vehicle I wasnt happy as I had told them that my hood was not on "right". The OTHER company said "It will never be perfect because its been in an accident" even when using OEM parts. Which in my opinion was insane. Not even one day at this Superior Service center, and I was back on the road happy as can be in my hood that now fit like it should. Whether you drive a BMW or a beat up Geo, I'd recommend these guys to anyone for mechanical or body repair. Its for when you want the repair done right at the right price with the latest technologies available for it. read more

Unfortunately my car was on the end of a hit and run twice. I'm not from around here, just temporarily living in the area, so I selected this place out of the list of body shops in my insurance's network. I was very pleased with the work done. They communicated with me well and did a fine job. Naturally, the second time around I chose to return to Superior. I would give them 5 stars but instead of replacing my entire rear tailight that was cracked, it appears as if they molded the lense cover together or something. You can barely tell unless you compare the two different taillights closely. But they even detail the inside of your car before giving it back to you for no additional charge! So if you bring it in for auto body collission repairs, I would suggest emptying out your car so they don't have to move all of your stuff and can clean it better for you. read more

The work they do is good. However, they certainly lack in clean up. I had the rear bumper and muffler system worked on. They had to take the liner out of the trunk, however they reinstalled it incorrectly and there was white dust all over the inside of the trunk. Part of the service is they clean the interior of your car. They vacuumed well, but that's where it ended. They wiped down the interior with some kind of chemical that left a film all over the chrome, screens, polished plastics. Plus, they half-assed cleaning the dash. So, you can easily see where they wiped and didn't wipe. They mostly just pushed the dust into the speaker grills. I would have rather they didn't "clean" the interior. The interior looked better before they got their hands on it. read more

Great place to go to for car repair and body work in Eagan. They have always been fairly priced and from my experience, they don't push to upsell you. I've always had staff that are very polite and take the time to explain what's going on and the options you have. Make sure you get the coupon book that has every-other oil change free. We survived the trifecta of driver idiocy: we were hit by a drunk, texting, uninsured moron. This service station was a go-to of our insurance company and I was a little apprehensive. I tried to change my mind and have it taken to the dealership (where I purchased the vehicle a mere 14 months earlier) but we were to late. They had already started work. We stopped in to gather some items from the vehicle ($12,000 worth of damage and an estimated month of repairs) and all my fears were gone. Tony walked us through all of the repairs, the how and why, brought it down to a personal level and set us up with a loaner. The car was ready on time, beautifully detailed and running perfectly. It was like the day I bought it. The only missing star is because they forgot to hook up the new tire to the TMS and I had to come back so they could connect the monitor. However, they got us in immediately when I called about it and fixed it while I waited. read more

I took my 2014 F150 with 65,000 miles to Superior Service Center in Eagan based on online reviews. They were courteous & prompt with my oil change and have no issues with this. My concerns are around the $1050 worth of 'recommended preventive maintenance' that was suggested. They wrote a formal quote to say that I should flush antifreeze (which I had recently done), flush my transmission fluid $199, flush brakes $99, service 4X4 axles and transfer case $299, and replace my spark plugs $368. At no time did they ask any questions about if my truck was driven under any severe duty situations. I looked inside my Ford service manual and it clearly stated the following: Spark plugs - 100,000 mi, Transmission and 4x4 150,000 mi, rear axle has Lifetime synthetic lubricant. I could not find the brake flush listed anywhere in the manual. Ford states that Severe duty is operating PRIMARILY in specific conditions and operating OCCASIONALLY under these conditions, it is not necessary to perform the extra maintenance. I was looking for a garage with integrity that I could trust to provide good service and reasonable recommendations. But quoting service at 1/2 the recommended mileage does not fit this expectation. Sorry but I will not be returning to this shop ever again. read more

We had to have a vehicle towed to Superior Service Center due to it not starting. They diagnosed it, called us with an estimate and repaired all in the same day. They actually billed what they quoted as well. The day we picked up the vehicle it didn't start again about 4 hours later. We had to have it towed (this time to our local mechanic). They found that the part that Superior had replaced just days before was defective and needed to be replaced again. Not necessarily Superior's fault, but when I called them they offered to pay for the repair and tow (part was under warranty). They contacted my local mechanic and payed the bill. The only reason I give them a 4 was their pricing is a bit high. My local mechanic's bill for the same work was about 30% less, but I give them total credit for standing behind their work! Brought my 2000 Audi S4 here for an alternator repair I didn't feel comfortable doing. I don't like bringing my cars in and having someone else work on it so when I do I get nervous. Talked to Mike on the phone and he was quick on putting an estimate together for me on the costs. Labor was around $130 per hr. Not sure if that's for all repairs, which seems average nowadays. Dropped it off early in the morning a few days later at around 9am and was able to pick it up by 230pm. I also liked that my request of just doing the repair I needed to get back on the road and that's it was listened to. Instead of pushing me to do more. Front office was presentable, and front office staff was polite. It's been a few days since the repair and so far it's still running great. Good job to the mechanic that worked on it. There was a time when I first moved to Eagan that I would swear by these guys and bring both my vehicles here even for that smallest little thing I couldn't take care of myself. I prefer bringing business to local guys as well over chain places. All the good feelings have come to an end though. I'm not sure what happened to them but from my point of view it coincided with their opening of a second garage in Apple Valley. I'm talking about a very precipitous drop in everything from customer service to job performance. Perhaps they are victims of their own competence? It just seems like my last few visits they are always super busy. Why is that a bad thing you say, as it probably indicates the level of confidence the local populace has in them. Well, it appears to me they can't handle this increased volume of work, even with a second joint opening. The receptionists have short fuses and become rude even for the most innocent of questions if it happens to interrupt whatever far more important than help a customer task their doing. I've observed this so many times while waiting in their lobby a rude blowup certainly is no anomaly. The work I previously thought of as high quality isn't so much anymore. Again, while in waiting in the lobby I've witnessed several unhappy customers come in or call in about work they were unsatisfied with. I suppose that happens at every shop but previous to the last year or so, I had never heard of or had a complaint myself. On my own experience I had them perform an oil change on my gf's car and the next day she smelled a terrible oil burning smell coming from the engine and stinking up the whole car. They didn't put the cap back on properly. Took it back to them and to their credit they cleaned up the oil that had come out and gotten all over, but the acrid smell was in her car for the next week or so. Careless work. Indicative of a get it in get it out volume over quality mentality. And finally. I expect a little better service from the local mom/pop shop guy. If you are already working on my engine doing expensive repairs and I give you a headlight I've purchased and ask you to replace it, I expect you to do that for a minimal charge. What I do not expect is you to look in your fee book, determine replacing a bulb is a 30 minute job and therefore should be billed $80. You are already in working on the engine. For your guys replacing that bulb is a 5-10 minute distraction. Very disappointing. That is just one example. I've also noticed they started following in the footsteps of the chain stores and start trying to push unneeded repairs. They told me my brakes were at a critical level and I needed to replace the pads and rotors for $500.00. Naturally, concerned, I got a 2nd and then 3rd opinion before shelling out that much. 2 and 3 said "huh" after looking at my brakes. They were not at a critical level. They were fine. I've lost confidence in this place. I'm going to be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Today was my first experience with Superior. I went on line 48hrs ago and scheduled an appointment. The fine print said my time and day would be confirmed by Superior which is was when business opened on monday. My son and I arrived to drop the vehicle off at 845am for our requested 9am appt. 5 hours after my appt time I called to check on the status of my vehicle because I had received no communication from them. I was told that my vehicle had not even been looked at yet. I asked for clarification on why since I had an appt. I was then told that my appt time didn't mean anything. Then why did I make it?? I would completely understand if I had just walked into their business wanting my car repaired or had my car towed etc. I would then have to wait until they finished with scheduled customers and then get to me. The remainder of the conversation was met with remarks like "well I can't go backwards now so we just have to move on". "I'm sorry you misunderstood " etc etc. I didn't miss understand. I scheduled an appt online. And even if something had come up at the shop and I could get my requested service done in a timely fashion someone should have let me know. I work in the Healthcare field and run our day on appts. I know the difference between an appt and a walk in. And certainly would not leave one of my customers hanging for 5 hours. I repaired only what was necessary at the end of the day and took my vehicle home. Definitely a rude and disappointing first impression for a business recommended by my AAA. Will be letting them know about my experience also. Not the service they usually back. As far as my repair work I didn't complete it all because of the length of time my vehicle sat there and the customer service I received. Will probably go elsewhere. A big disappointment after deciding to support my local community business. read more

Superior always does a superior job! I needed a new battery and Superior was able to get me in right away! They may not always be able to get me in right away but they do their best! I appreciate that their staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! If you bring your car in they will tell if they see any problem with your car. They will tell you if it's an urgent repair that needs to be done asap or if it can wait a bit. I've taken my car there for years and appreciate that they are very helpful and honest and stand by their work! I also appreciate that the waiting room is nice and you can watch tv and get a bottle of water or can of pop while you wait. read more

I've brought cars here in the past, about ten years ago, and had no reason for complaint. More recently, I brought my car for an insurance repair and they fixed it just fine. A couple of problems I had with them: -I asked them to change my oil while the car was with them. The front office person entered it in the system, but when I picked the car up, it hadn't been done. -I'm not sure whose fault it was, but they were still waiting for the replacement door for my car a week later. The insurance rep initially told me I may have to cover the rental car for the time between when I dropped it off and when they actually received the part. Later, she said they would cover the rental for ten days. Fortunately, Superior finally got the door in and installed on the ninth day, so I had no out-of-pocket. That said, I was stressing out about having to pay for a rental car, even though it was someone else who ran into my car, not the other way around. They need to order the part before customers drop their vehicle off. If they need a signed agreement with the customer, then so be it. I would have given them 5 stars without those problems. read more

I have had good work here in the past. I tried to get an estimate to fix hail damage and the "shop manager" claims that they can't give me a quote to fix the hail damage but I can take it in for repairs to them. Umm until my insurance company approves the estimate, I am not taking my vehicle anywhere and leaving it. That's a recipe for disaster if the insurance company and body shop disagree. Lost a customer. Good job "shop manager" for explaining you ridiculous policy and making excuses for it. I am going somewhere else. I suggest everyone else who has hail damage do so as well. The last time I had hail damage fixed the insurance and body shop were $2500 apart in their estimates. read more

When they expanded and added mechanical work, we also brought our business to Superior for that as well. They have become our most trusted repair shop in town! Their prices are always competitive if not the best, they stand behind their work, they are friendly, punctual, and their waiting room is comfortable and outfitted with wi-fi. The waiting room walls are covered with acknowledgements and small business awards. My daughter now drives down from Minneapolis for all of her repair work because she knows how much we trust and appreciate Superior Service Center. My 1 star review stems from interaction with a technician for an estimate. I brought my car in for an estimate for body work after a collision. Another vehicle spun out on icy roads and collided with my rear passenger quarter panel which then spun me out into Freeway traffic. I told him that my blind spot and cross traffic sensors as well as my back up camera went offline immediately following the accident. He informed me that the insurance company would never cover it. I asked him why not and he proceeded to tell me that since the car didn't make direct contact with these things, insurance wouldn't cover it. As we continued to talk about it, it dawned on me that he didn't believe me. I asked him if he believed what I was telling him and he repeated several times "I just think you're making a pretty tough argument". This was really upsetting, knowing full well what he was accusing me of. I wasn't "making an argument". I was explaining the collision damage. After it became apparent that Superior was not going to fix the car to make it whole, I left and found another body shop recommended by the insurance company. I went through the same motions with him without telling him about my experience at Superior. I needed to find out if I was completely crazy. The technician at this body shop immediately recognized that the place of impact was right where the sensor box is located so it made complete sense that my electronics were offline. The next day they began taking things apart where they discovered the damage was far more extensive than it first appeared. The floor had buckled and the sensor box was smashed, in addition to the more obvious quarter panel damage. I've been told they need to keep my car for 3 weeks and so far the damages are estimated to be over $5,000. So in the immortal words of Pretty Woman....remember when I was in here the yesterday and you wouldn't help me? Big Mistake. Big. Huge. read more

My experience with Super Service Center - Eagan leaves something to be desired. I was in a car accident over the winter and ended up bringing my vehicle there to get fixed on a Friday evening; I was hit by an oncoming car in the front passenger-side corner and quarter panel. Over the weekend the technician put it up on the lift and checked it out. On Monday I spoke directly with the technician and he said that it should take them about 5 days to fix and repair. So far so good ... then as soon as the insurance company stepped in it went downhill. First, it took the insurance adjuster almost two weeks to get out to even look at the vehicle. As soon as they provided their quote, they negotiated directly with Superior, which was fine by me. After that was agreed upon, I received a phone call from who I am guessing was the shop supervisor stating that it will take 15 working days to complete the fix with little reason given for the huge disparity. Almost 30 days later I get my vehicle back. The reason for the extra working days they attributed to finding two add'l things wrong with the vehicle (front axle and an engine cradle) and waiting for my insurance company to respond to them. I get things taking longer and needing to get the approval from insurance before proceeding but I felt like I had to initiate that communication. So I get my car back and there is now a check engine light on (it was not on prior to the accident) and there is no power to the radio. So they pull it back into the shop and throw the computer on it. The check engine is for an O2 sensor and they said that the fuse was blown for the radio. The fuse was replaced and they tried clearing the code but it came right back. I opted to not have them repair the O2 sensor because by this point I had grown very skeptical and just wanted to get my car back. And I knew that I could drive my car with this error. I then take my car to my father-in-law to have him and one of his guys inspect the entire vehicle but primarily to take a look at the O2 sensor. I provided them with the receipt from Superior to have them check out what was done. (They work on a farm and have repaired everything from cars to trucks to semi's to combines so I know they know what they're doing). The front passenger side headlight was damaged beyond repair in the accident so a 'new' one was installed. This 'new' one Superior installed turned out to have a broken high-beam light that faced downward, and it had been cracked in the back and glued together. I and my insurance was charged almost $170 for this + labor. Next, they replaced the axle on the front drivers side (this was one of those extra things they had to wait for confirmation from my insurance company for). Not sure why since the front passenger side axle is what had damage to it. There was a part of the axle (a boot I think?) that had been cracked and was leaking oil. This should've been caught by Superior but was fixed (replaced) by my father-in-law. The computer error codes had about 20 errors in there for some reason. My only guess is that when Superior was working on my car, something got tweaked and resulted in this. But I have nothing to substantiate that. I don't know if this is a result of having the involvement of an insurance company because generally, I've seen good reviews about Superior. Unfortunately, my experience with this has resulted in no desire to have them work on any of my vehicles. read more

We have been taking our cars here for over 10 years! They are a great company beginning with the pleasant smile and helpfulness of the front office to the excellent work done in the body shop. I stopped by today to get a quote on body work that I need to have done on my vehicle. First of all, there were 3 younger women sitting at the front reception desk area. Not one looked up when I walked in, even though the reception area was empty. I stood at the desk and finally the lady with longer curly brown hair looked up and asked if she could help me. I said I would like to get a quote for the body work needed. She said "here we schedule appointments for doing quotes, would you like to set one up?" I said, I am here now, can anyone help me at this moment? She said no (without checking with anyone), we don't do it that way. I said fine, congrats on losing my business, and walked out. No one in the service department was contacted to see if they could step away or had a free moment. It is ridiculous that someone couldn't take 15 mins to look at my vehicle and provide a quote. Why do I say 15 min? Because I walked into two other places and that's exactly how long it took for them to give me quote, without an appointment scheduled. Your business model is flawed that you can't find 15 mins to do estimates, your staff is rude, and I will certainly tell anyone who will listen about what a shoddy business you are. And please let your front office staff know that when the door to the building opens they should all be looking up and greeting the person who walked through the door, not acting like they are above providing customer service. And by the way, I have had work done twice before at this place. Both times there were screw ups - like replacing a strut with another broken strut and telling me they had tested it - obviously they hadn't because when I drove with it installed it made a loud, heavy, clicking sound. Awful experience. Will never return. Body repair took over 3 months. Car was returnes with engine issues even though it was frezh fromna tune-up and inspection. Was treated very rudely for bringing this up and basically told to fuck off. Consider any other service center before this one. read more
