So my laptop decided to die one day partly because of its expiration date, it couldn't even turn on. So i was freaking out obviously because i have data on there. That is what you care about most anyway. I was gonna get a new computer but not before i get my data off my dead laptop. So i went to an establishment called Ge*k Squ*d at not-so-best-buy in hopes of getting my data back. After a gruesome wait of 40 minutes, i was attended to just to find out that there was nothing retrievable except an episode of gossip girl. OMG, that's all i need to survive. I'm kidding, i was gonna go cut myself. So not wanting to accept the reality, i decided to get a second opinion from SuperGeeks. Went there, was attended to almost immediately, charged me a refundable $99, if they couldn't find anything, i could get my money back. So after 2 days, they called to tell me that they have retrieved everything and that they put them in a harddrive (yes, i got a free harddrive, technically, i paid for it, but whatever, i got it). THANK GOODNESS I GOT A SECOND OPINION. The other establishment that i shouldn't mention *cough geek* *cough squad*, didn't help me at all and wanted to charge me more than $360 to get into the system. Supergeeks indeed saved the day. ****story no.2***** so i bought a new mac (yay), and my external hard drive isn't compatible with macs, so they had to format it so that it works on both pcs and macs. Extremely disappointed! They charged me $156.02 for comprehensive diagnostics, all operating system updates and super secret performance-enhancing tweaks. They called me 5 days later to tell me that I had a broken motherboard and it would cost me and additional $500.00 to have it replaced. I asked the technician to go ahead and find me the replacement motherboard. After waiting another 4 days they finally called me again and they said for them to replace the motherboard it would cost $1300.00 (more than the actual cost of a brand new computer). I immediately declined their service and asked if I would still be charged the $156.02. And they said, yes, because it would cover the cost of their diagnostics. I personally could have told them that the computer was broken without being charged for the diagnostics. I brought it there to have it fixed and when I went to pick it up, there were noticeable scuff marks and scratches on the case and a nick on the keyboard area. I took really good care of this laptop only to have it returned in worst shape than I gave it to them and a $156.02 invoice added to it. If you plan on taking your computer there to have it fixed or returned broken, please be prepared to lose a guaranteed $156.02 for their diagnostics, and their SUPER SECRET PERFORMANCE ENHANCING TWEAKS. I found them on Yelp and read their reviews and thought I'd give them a try but it turned out to be zero stars for me. I have the invoice to prove this bogus service. read more

This review is about the Moil'ili location. Very poor customer service. I was given very little information and 'Divine' at the front desk was uninformative and disinterested in helping me with my repair. She could barely answer any of my questions and yet still managed to give somewhat condescending responses. I was very uncomfortable about leaving my hard drive with personal info on it there, since I was told the technicians can look through all your stuff 'to make sure it is all recovered.' Um, no thanks, how about you just copy the info over and don't creep on it? Every other place I called in the continental u.s. follows HIPAA privacy guidelines. They were unable to make the repair so when I went to pick up the hard drive it was left in pieces rather then put together as I had brought it in. Yes, the pieces were bagged, but come on, how hard is it to put 4 screws in? Divine's response was to slowly fumble with it and act like she didn't know how to reassemble. Basically, this location is very unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and a waste of time. Don't even bother calling them. read more

I called Super Geeks on South King and explained that I was having difficulties printing from the internet and from the majority of the applications on my desktop computer. My desktop computer operates on Windows 11 and when I researched the cause it pointed to co-pilot as the possible source of the error. What was strange is that I was able to print documents from Word, Excel, and a test print page from the HP trouble shooting application. Adam, said that he could help/assist me over the phone, and he talked me through what needed to get done and in less than 10 minutes remedied the printing problem. His instructions were very clear and understandable, and it helped me resolve my printing issues. I've taken an older desktop, and Adam resolved all prior issues with it. I finally, stopped using my older computer because Microsoft announced that it would no longer support Windows 10 sometime this year. On time and on budget plus extra service. i couldn't be happier with them. I cracked the screen to my Dell Studio 1745 laptop and took it in late on a Saturday afternoon just before closing to have the screen replaced. Talked with Don who told me not a problem, just needed to order a replacement screen and install it. Gave me a quote of $59 for labor plus whatever the screen cost. Quoted 7 to 12 days depending on delivery of replacement screen. He noticed the laptop had a very sticky cover since the rubbery surface had deteriorated over the years, Part came in a week later and was installed. Went to pick it up and noticed that Don had cleaned the sticky mess of the laptop cover so it looked brand new! At no cost! Needless to say, i am a happy camper! They are very friendly and do what they say they're going to do when they say they're going to do it at a reasonable price. Can;t beat that! read more

I am so grateful to have taken my "fussy old lap-top" to Dr. Don the putter miracle worker.!!! He was a man on mission with that old laptop he was determined to make that old thing work right. He kept at it until it worked satisfactory. I realized it was an older model and I wanted just to play with it. Now its so much fun - I want more "brains on it" so I can now do big stuff with it Dr. Don said - We can do that - very positive - Oh - BTW for you gramma out there - he takes the time to explain how to best use your computer. Over the past few years I've consistently gone to super geeks when ever my laptops have crashed. I've recently gone Because my screen was cracked, my son stepped on the laptop not realizing it was there. I again was very happy with my results, they replaced my screen within a week. I was lucky enough they already had a screen that worked for my laptop and it didn't even cost that much. If you're worried aBout the $150 service, don't, it's more then worth it. I took my Mac Book Air to the Super Geeks after the guys at the Mac store told me it was a totally lost cause. I was in a complete panic when I brought it in and they were really nice and helpful and explained what they could do in ways that actually made sense to me. Used them a couple of years ago to clean out a Trojan from my laptop - good customer service, took about 2 days, reasonable price, but not cheap. Last Sunday, a geek in the front spent an hour helping grandma with her Explorer settings and desktop items. Ha! Otherwise I would have been doing it. Saved me all this time. Best part: didn't charge anything. Grandma loves them now. Pros: geeks are pros and go extra mile to help the customers. Good location (near former Long's Moiliili). Cons: No discounts for repeat customers. Also parking can be tough when they have too many customers at once. I just park at Long's. read more

I supposedly had a memory problem with my gaming computer according the support software. I was sent a replacement SIMM card. Don checked the memory cards, and all were functioning okay. I wasted my time, but at least I was reassured all was okay. On another occasion, my gaming computer suddenly couldn't access the internet.
