Went in just to get the sides and back of my hair cleaned up as I was leaving for a work trip and couldn't see my regular barber.....never again. Went there to blow dry my hair yesterday because other salons were too busy. If I could turn back time and not step into this place I would've. The young girl that did my hair was nice, but inexperienced, didn't have the right tools, and couldn't dry curly Hispanic hair. scheduled a haircut and blow dry/style at the Mineral Spring location. The whole vibe of the place was tense. not a friendly face in the place, everyone looked miserable. even the "manager" Brit. I explained very clearly I was attending a wedding and wanted my hair curled. After taking her sweet time blow drying my barely trimmed and not washed hair, she tells me the curls aren't sticking and there's nothing she can do. Then proceeded to charge me $60 for a cut and style. For what? You didn't wash OR style my hair. I ended up rushing to another salon who actually knows what they're doing. This is my default place now to get my son's hair cut. There have been one or two missteps, but I've found the person he works best with, and we are very happy. Nicole is fantastic with my kiddo and makes him feel super comfortable in the chair. He's just overall more calm with her, which is just so nice to see. Hello owners? Any owners of this branch actually reading reviews? Or pop in unannounced, call in and test how management is handling things? I think not. I've gone to this branch perhaps a hundred times over a decade. Location and price is right but the talent varies drastically. The best ones move on eventually. I can deal with the occasional bad shape up cut and I get my hair colored elsewhere tbh Or I color it myself which is why I need a real pro once a year lol. However my beef is with the management. It gets worse every year as do most of the people who answer the phones. Few have sales or customer service skills which I would think is a requirement for the manager. Isn't That one of the reasons why they get promoted? Guess not at this branch. When I called I immediately inwardly bristled at her tone but shrugged it off even though she was rude and obviously indifferent. Again, hello owners any where? I see a sign outside that implies that non customers can't use the restroom. Ok fair enough. However, after I tip and settle up the tab I ask to use the restroom. As the poor girl is answering me looking embarrassed she tells me the manger said no one can use the restroom. Even paying customers of over a decade. I didn't want to put her on the hot seat, not her fault. However I see the manager eagerly drifting over looking for some b.s. Bored? How about cleaning up between customers and or learning some phone etiquette and common sense with paying clients? Owners you should fire this petty,power tripping dumb ass. I was pissed I actually called two other S.C in R.I to ask about this policy. One person said they don't have that policy or enforce it for PAYING CUSTOMERS. Had to give one star to write review. I would rather put zero. The girl I got didnt listen to a word I said. I said to leave over my ears she chopped it...she said she has to even out...3 inches? I think not! She dried my hair half way at 28 degrees outside... I told her to just let me do it and she did!!! Had an awful experience there. Showed the pic of haircut i want, but she neglected it. Tried to explain it but she doesn't even know what is skin fade. Required me to hold my mask using my hand all way to the end, cuz the straps of mask would make it inconvenient for her to do the haircut. My arm sores after the cut. Seems she wants to finish the cut asap, so did it in a quick and rough way. It only took about 20 mins, as comparison, last time i got haircut in Atom, it's 80mins. In a word, I don't feel comfortable during the cut and definitely not satisfied with the cut at all. Don't go this place unless you have no choice. read more

Went in for a blow out. 1 star because it was very convenient booking online and getting a same day appointment and another because my hairdresser was super sweet. But, $65 for a basic blowout just seems crazy to me. I get blowouts often and have paid $35 max. read more

3 out of my last 3 walk-in visits my business was turned down. Either too busy, wait lines beyond 45 minutes, too close to closing (at 720 they tell me they are trying to close up early), or show a general disinterest in providing a timely haircut or my business. At this point I am just fed up with this branches service and management. I would recommend taking the 5 min drive to their branch in Smithfield off route 44. I have been a customer of this business for many years. Today, I booked a shampoo and haircut. Although, my stylist was very kind and engaging. I have never felt like I was being pushed off the chair. I had to encourage Becky to dry my hair and apply product. Looking at the mirror she should have been the one to suggest. I called to make an apt for my mom to get a hair cut at Supercuts on Mineral Spring Ave, since it's there is a Pandemic... My Mother (78 YEAR Old) & I arrived at Salon at 1:45 and the door was locked. I called and informed them that we were outside and my mother had a 2PM Apt. The lady explained that they would be there in 10 minutes. As my mother and I waited, a gentleman and a mother and teenage boy arrived. The mother of this teenage boy asked about the door being closed? I explained that I had called and they were headed in to open. As The Supercuts staff arrive, there were 2 female stylist one of them being a manager(this will come to play little later). They opened the door, did not acknowledge my mother and I and proceeded to take the gentleman and teenage boy in, leaving my mother outside. I asked the stylist why that was taking place and she explained that we did not have an appointment. I explained to her that indeed we had an apt and I called her and we had been waiting outside. She was very dismissive and continued to explain that my mother could wait 15 minutes outside to get her hair cut. At this point my mother started catching on & could clearly see that they took this gentleman and teenage boy ahead of her and made a comment "do you want to leave". I actually decided to be considerate and inform them that we decided to leave. As I opened the door to tell the staff and manager that we were leaving, I was given a very dismissive attitude & as I explained again not sure why we had to wait bc of an error they made, the stylist was like "byyyeeee" like basically be gone, we don't care about you guys as customers let Alone my elderly mother's health....Since I left, I have been trying to outreach the cooperate office and I actually called the salon back and asked for the manager. At this point I was completely astonished that the manager was one of the staff in the store. She began to excuse her poor management of the Salon during this very critical time, as she has a "new staff" and they may have made an error and not booked the appointment. I began to explain to her that was no acceptable as my mother is elderly woman and since she is aware that her staff are making errors with scheduling she should of at least taken my mother in before the teenage boy. At this point apparently the manager no longer wanted to deal with me and stated that she had a customer to get to. I told her I was still not satisfied and called back due to the attitude given to both myself and my mother as we had been customers for a long time. Now she said she will address the "attitude" with her staff...however she was there when it happened and it could have very well been her...I feel that Supercuts as a cooperation should not allow for these types of discrepancies especially during Covid. The manager also "assured me" that they take the health of their elderly clients very serious, clearly that was not factual as they did not even ask the age when they booked the apt let alone acknowledge my 78 Year Old Mother when she was in front of them, with her mask on following protocol waiting for her apt. read more

I always think, "Hmm, maybe I'll give this Super Cuts a shot. Maybe it will be better than every other Super Cuts I've been to." And then I go, and realize I'm an idiot for trying the same thing over and over again because I always get the same disappointing results. However, this time I wasn't going for me. I was going for my son, because we're headed out on vacation and I couldn't get into our regular salon. We got there right when they opened at 11 on Sunday, and there was a line, which seemed promising. Of course, a half hour wait with a toddler can always be dicey. But he was sooo good. When it was his turn, we sat down in the chair and the woman asked me what I wanted. I said, "We do the faux hawk, short around the back and sides and longer on top." She asked me what number clipper to use. I didn't know. I'm not a hair stylist. It's not my job to tell you how to cut hair. When she started the clippers, my son kind of shrugged because of the tickle, but he didn't make a sound mind you, and she said, "I can't do it if he's going to clench up like that." So I basically had to direct the entire haircut, while she acted annoyed that my toddler wasn't behaving like an adult. It cost $13, and there are extraneous hairs in the back. I usually pay $15 for a quality haircut, so it really wasn't that cheap either. I see a few good reviews for this place and think either these people work for the salon or they must like their haircut experience to remind them of the DMV, crappy service from a surly employee. If that's your style, then I say go for it. But I personally like competence and a smile. read more

This has got to be the BEST hair salon I've ever been to. I come here every two months since last Summer for a fresh cut and always get what I ask for, never any disappointments. The staff is wicked nice and they talk to you as they do your hair. I like how I've gotten to know mine a lot not just as a hair stylist but as a person. I'm going back here this week, I love it! I recently came back to get a haircut after sometime and was shocked by the lack of professionalism and management. First of all I waited to be checked in for over fifteen minutes and the girl who works in the front who I was told is the manager was extremely rude and impersonable. I cant believe shes the one running the circus here. I mean I suppose she could seeing how it's not rocket science to manage drug addicts. Mind you There was nobody else waiting she was just more interested in talking with her friend while doing her hair im assuming for free. I had my doubts when moving here in Nov.2010. I'm now a regular and go every two weeks. You can't make appointment from what I've been told from an employee. You can however tell them approximately what time you'll be in and they'll put you on the list. Saving you a fair amount of time. Like the previous review, the staff is tremendously courteous. They are all great. If you are looking for a low fade, a pencil line sideburn or the front hairline to be outlined to give a clean look than I would not recommend this salon. read more

I ended up with a complete crappy haircut all the times and the lady was done in 5 minutes! I have seen awesome barbers who take their time and give an awesome haircut. This place is a joke! They have zero customer service skills. It's local and a walk in salon is convenient with a busy family schedule and that is the s ONLY reason I have given them more than one chance. I checked in and I was told to have a seat because it was going to be a while because there is only one stylist that waxes eyebrows. She had proceeded to take 3 people that walked in after me! They did not check in online because she was taking their info and logging them into the computer. On a separate occasion they were completely rude when I asked them for a graduated bob for my 3 year old. Like that's a crazy cut for a 3 year old? My daughter is completely cooperative by the way. Took my son in for a haircut- I brought in a picture of what we had been working towards... think Ross Dempsey from 13 reasons why (my son has 4 opposite facing cowlicks and I've been painstakingly growing and trimming his hair for a year and a half so they are weighed down) all the stylist needed to do was clean up the bottom and give him a mid-fade... she said she understood and then brought up the clippers to the top of his head!!! Four times I told her that I wasn't pleased with where she was going, her response was that she wasn't done that this is how everyone is doing it. Finally another stylist stepped in I tried explaining to her why I was upset only to have the first stylist talk over me and interrupt me- at that point I lost it and told her to be quiet and let me speak! The other stylist was really sweet, saw where I was coming from she said I was right and couldn't understand why the other stylist hasn't stopped or asked for help. She tried so hard to fix the pterodactyl mess but it was too late it looked like he had two haircut...buzzed on one side and cockatoo on the other. I called the manager the following morning only to find her sounding annoyed and ask so what do you want me to do with her? Frankly, if this is managements attitude, I can see why you also give such horrible service. read more

Obviously from my awesome haircut they do a good job here. I always have Sue cut my hair, she rules. They don't take appointments but you can call ahead and put your name in for any of the stylists. I've only had to wait a few minutes doing this. I've cheated on Sue a few times when she's on vacation and I need a last minute cut and have been happy. When available I always go with Sue though. read more
