There are certain people you keep in your life once you finally find them... talented hairdressers…read morecertainly fall under that category! I was with the same hairdresser for 22 years until she sadly retired a couple of years ago. Ever since, I have been on the prowl. I've tried several hairdressers. The first one was awesome but her prices went from $120 for a cut, color, and gloss to $180 for those same services in an 18 month span. The second hairdresser I tried owned her own salon but couldn't match my color, and it was noticeable! My roots were a fiery red compared to my black hair. I gave her a few tries before moving on to another hairdresser who was able to match my color at my roots somewhat better, but couldn't cut my wavy hair properly. The owner of that salon tried to fix it but it's still botched. Finally, after scouring the Internet and reading a ton of reviews, I found Creative Corner. Becky (a 23 year veteran hairdresser to Creative Corner) took my call, listened to my situation, and graciously stayed later than her shift so she could fix my hair. Upon driving up, I was a little doubtful that this cozy little cottage of a salon would be any better than my previous experiences, but boy was I pleasantly surprised! This little place is overflowing with talented hairdressers who genuinely care about their clients and have created an inclusive, welcoming environment. Becky took the time to find the proper color and patiently separated each section of hair to paint my roots and then pulled it through a bit with the gloss. She showed me how uneven my hair was from my previous cut but we agreed to let my hair grow a bit more so I didn't end up with chin length hair. Lots of ponytails this summer! I'm incredibly thankful I met her and am loving the continuity of color in my hair. Best of all, the prices were extremely affordable at $85 for a cut, color, and gloss. I tipped her generously and booked a few more appointments to show my sincere appreciation. If you're looking for reasonably priced, high quality hair services, this is your place! Everyone is friendly and most have 20+ years of experience. Try them out!

I grew up in the area, but I now live in Providence, so I make the pilgrimage down to Coventry whenever I need a haircut. It's a great local salon--they have a friendly and attentive staff, and do it all--cut, color, straightening, waxing, manicures, and pedicures. I'm always thrilled with with whatever I have done, and pricing is super reasonable. I'm sure this review is clouded by my loyalty goggles, but who cares? In the words of Barney Stinson, AWESOME.

This is a place for guys to go get their hair cut....plain and simple. All guy barbers, flat screens on the walls, comfy couches, soda machine.....but also very little testosterone. I had always imagined a mens barbershop to be a bunch of overly proud men congregating to congratulate themselves on being male. The workers here are young-ish but respectful. They interact with adolescents, 20-somethings and 'older' professionals at whatever level and conversation springs up. They all take pride in what they do and want you leaving looking your absolute best. They spent just as much time on my hair 4 days before Easter as they have on a random September day. I find the cuts are much better than the quick in/out salon places. From a guys perspective the banter and surrounding conversations are MUCH more tolerable. The price is the same for me here as it was those other places and the attention to detail and what I want makes it a no brainer (seriously, do I have to argue with the stylist on how i want MY hair cut? Those other places are awful for guys).

I looked…read morecloser to home and met with an uncomfortable attitude ...'don't worry, you'll figure it out and you'll get used to it'. I searched on line and read every review I could find. Alicia's caught my eye. I made an appointment immediately so they could see what my hair looked like before it disappeared. I drove from out of state and was met by a lovely woman who wasn't talking about wigs, but instead wanted to know how I felt, what my concerns were and what I was hoping for. This shop is all about hope and acceptance. Cathy spent as much time and as many appointments as I needed. at that time there were not many shades of red in wigs and it was difficult to come even close to matching my natural hair, which was a brownish red with some curl. She finally did it after a lot of searching. The wig came in and Cathy cut it to match my previous hair style. Five months ago I was faced with re-diagnosis. The previous chemo left me with an odd shade of grey hair in both cool and warm tones that is whispy and as straight as can be. I went back to Alicia's and we started over again. I now go to work every day in a wig that matches my hair from the day I went back to her shop. Most of my co-workers have no idea is a wig and a lot of people ask what salon I have my hair done in. There aren't enough words to explain Cathy. She is caring, funny, and realistic, but she is also dynamic and incredible. You won't be sorry if you trust her to help you.
