Don't go here. They are disorganized. One lady (Asian accent) behind the counter could care less about the overall business. She only cares about whatever clients she scheduled. Someone walked in while I was there and she says, I'm leaving at 5, maybe the other person can help you. Meanwhile the other person (Evalina) is scrambling around looking stressed out. For clarity... they scheduled me for a 430 appt with Evalina. I overheard the phone convo at 9am. Evalina was asked if she could take the appt at 5. She said 430 would work. Then she tells me the other person scheduled the appt without her knowing but she can do it if I'm willing to wait and it will take 2 hours. I just waited 20 mins plus the time of the conversation. 2 more hours? Then trust a stressed out, overbooked stylist to work on my hair? No, thank you. I don't need the stressed out energy, disorganization, blaming others for over scheduling, etc. I wasted my day believing I had an appt cause of these two people . I could have used my holiday to find another place. To top it all off she tells me, Am I sure I want to buy the oil Mitchell hydro cream whip for my hair because if someone getting a service done I get 20% off. Walk ins are welcome (as posted outside their salon) but will not get full service!! Came in as walk in. The hair dresser accommodated me after 20 minutes of wait. I asked for a haircut with shampoo. She said okay, but she has to do the cutting first. In the middle of the session, she mentioned that she has an appointment with a client and that will be coming soon. She was rushing to cut my hair when that client arrived. After all the cutting, I reminded her about how i wanted to shampoo my hair. I wanted bangs and well...it turned out lopsided and looks horrible. They aren't even and it's sort of a shitty bob/side bangs. Too much hair was brought from the back to the front to make the bangs. So now it makes me look like I have a really bad man toupee. Like Howard from Big Bang theory. I can't even have my hair on one side or even hair parted down the middle. I should just shave my head bald because I could've just cut my own hair and it would've looked better. Me- "I just want to cut the dead hair, and keep as much length as I can" Stylist- "Do you want layers" Me- "no, I'm not in to layers" Ive been trying to grow my hair out for three years, and I finally got my hair to the length I wanted, and she gave me a bad version of 90's Rachel from Friends haircut. 5 inches of side bangs, and layers that will probably take me 3 years to grow out. She even asked me what salon I normally go to, I said Marsha Nadaline, but today I just wanted to get a trim. I've never yelped before, because I'm not in to complaining, but she took my consent away, and I feel violated. I've been wanting to color my hair for awhile since I haven't had it done in a long time. I decided to try Supercuts in Manoa. I went in on a Monday about 8:30am and there was no wait. There were two stylists working that morning. I spoke to Skye on the phone that morning so she took me and we did a quick consultation. She was honest and didn't pressure me into making me make a decision, but since I had the day off and I got dropped off I went for it. First she cut my hair with layers and then we started the long process of coloring my hair. I went for balayage. This is a very tedious process, took me 4 hours to cut, color, tone and style. She explained every step and always checked if I was doing ok. The end product was amazing! Not as light as I wanted it, but I knew not to expect that since my hair is dark, almost black to begin with. Everyone I saw after loved my color and asked where I did it. They thought I was going to prom or on a big date...lol. I wish I was that young again! I just felt bad because my hair took so long and other guests kept coming in at a regular pace so her co-stylist had to do everyone else, all hair cuts, for 4 straight hours! These guys have great customer service and make sure you leave happy with your hair cut. They always ask! read more

Supercuts is typically a good option if you're not overly picky about your haircut (teenage boys, children, etc., NOT teenage girls!!!) This is a new Supercuts location in the Manoa Marketplace - where the gelato store used to be. Its location makes it super convenient (lots of parking and lots to do while you wait: Safeway, Longs, Starbucks - across the street, farmer's market, etc.) It's fairly small, but there was no wait and the staff was friendly. read more

This was the most horrendous, horrible experience I've ever experienced with my hair. I went in for a straight cut trim. I asked the guy to cut off about 2 inches of my hair when he first initially cut my hair, he cut about 3 1/2 inches and I was feeling uncomfortable with the fact that he didn't listen to me when I said 2 inches But he had already made the cut so I couldn't do anything about it in the moment and I just let him. after the initial 3 1/2 inches he took it up another two and a half inches. I left the store with half of my head of hair gone when I just wanted to trim and not to mention it was very uneven, so I have to cut it, shorter to fix. I felt absolutely fucking violated. when I called back to the company to complain, they claim that they never cut my hair and they don't have any male stylist that could've helped me out so they do not take accountability for their actions at all. The absolute worst haircut EVER. Was concerned from the start but he was cutting very conservatively so didn't think he could do much damage. Was going for a just below the chin bob with slight layering. Asked him to trim the back a bit shorter & for some reason he started chopping the side of my hair off. He cut a huge chunk off that is at least 1 1/2" shorter than the back or other side. Then the manager tries to tell me that it looks fine and every stylist has to practice and will make mistakes. 3 weeks before Xmas and my hair is butchered. Would not send my dog to this "salon". We left the salon at 1250pm and quickly noticed outside of the salon that my son has muitlple cuts with fresh blood on his neck and behind both ears after a haircut. I have pictures as proof and planned to call the salon to talk to the hairstylist to explain what she did to my son to avoid causing a scene at the salon as there's other customers present and know she will probably deny it. Upon arriving home 1:10pm mins later, I instructed my son to shower to clean and apply antibacterial ointment as I don't know how sterile is the equipment. At 1:11pm, I called the salon and spoke Mi Jung Murashige who was the hairdresser who cut my sons hair as she answered my phone call. I explained that my son just had a haircut from her just recently today and there's cuts on my sons neck with fresh blood. She said "I want to see." I said we are not in the location. She said "You know kids skin is very fragile and easily gets cut" while sounding annoyed. She said "you know what I'm busy and can't talk right now". I told her if she will at least apologize because I don't want anyone else's children to experience the same situation, that my husband said salons are suppose to cover the neck before a haircut with a cloth (she didn't cover it), and my son has gotten his hair cut millions of times and has never had his skin cut open. She sighed and said "I already apologized in the beginning and said Im sorry and can't talk right now" as she sounded defensive and annoyed. She then hung up the phone. I didn't appreciate her poor attitude, defensiveness, poor customer service, and didn't sound sincere on how she handled the situation. A good stylist will never nick a clients skin especially multiple times. I wasn't impressed by her haircut anyway but gave a $4 tip, other hair stylist at the Manoa location has cut my sons hair with a better cut with no nicks and no skin bleed. read more

Soooo slow... we didn't even get a haircut! Went in tonight for a quick cut for my son, and it was like watching paint dry. There was nobody in line so we thought it would be fast, boy were we wrong! We were quoted a ten minute wait.... but 20 minutes later we were still waiting. We did get to watch one hairstylist sweeping, sweeping, and even more sweeping while the other was cutting as slow as it comes. Walked in here today to get my haircut - I had zero expectations as this was a $20 cut. I hadn't been to a supercuts in over 9 years, since the last one butchered my hair and gave me HORRIBLE highlights. They asked me to wait 10-15 mins, which was A-OK with me. Got sat and was asked how I wanted my hair. Positives: + She continually checked with me about the length + She also assured what she was doing with my hair multiple times + Had a 25% off scratch and save off hair product + Helped me find hair product for both me and the boyfriend. This Supercuts is new so it's very clean, beautiful, and quite spacious. There's also plenty of parking available in the Manoa Marketplace and the nearby grocery stores, banks, and drug stores make the location perfect to complete a day of weekend errands all in one trip. The stylists who work here are very kind and patient, they never seem to rush a customer out the door like at other Supercuts locations. I really like how my boyfriend's haircuts look when he goes here. As a nice touch, they even place a warm towel on the neck after a fresh haircut. read more

Had 2 appointments at a designated time for my daughter and myself. We were 15 minutes early and both stylist were cutting hair. Aaron asked if he could help me when we walked in. I told him we had appointments at 3 & 3:30. He told us they were an hour behind appointments and I said fine we'll wait. Aaron went off on me and said that he only cuts hair for people who treat him nicely and said some other rather rude comments which floored me since I was never rude to him. I even apologized in case I said something that offended him. He said he's been busting his butt for 2 days now and hasn't had a break and that he'd get to me if he felt like it. He then proceeded to sweep the whole place and disappear to the back for 20 minutes. 45 minutes into our appointment wait another guy walked in. Aaron appeared out of nowhere and immediately gave the guy a cut. My daughter got a cut from the other guy who did a nice job. I wasn't going to let Aaron butcher my hair as it was apparent he had a bone to pick with me. believe me Supercuts Manoa lost 3 customers today as I'll never go back with my 2 daughters specifically because of Aaron and his customer service. First off, I would like to say that I am from the mainland, and the city that I am from going to supercuts is kind of frowned upon, for whatever weird reason. In May of last year I got my hair dyed completely blonde/bleach blonde. Naturally, I am a dirty blonde. Yesterday I was sitting at a nail salon and I decided that I wanted to get my hair fixed because since then, it has grown out and exposed my roots. I was looking up different places on Yelp, but being a college student, I can't afford to pay more than $100. Every five star review on Yelp mentioned the name Aaron at supercuts, so I went in and asked for him. I waited about 15 min while he was finishing up with a customer and then I got in the chair and we had a "consultation". He told me very clearly what we were going to do and how much it was going to cost. I was pretty surprised that we could start right away, so that was really nice! He was super great through the whole process, he trained at Aveda back on the mainland, we talked about different things too. That aspect was nice because my hairdresser back home as been my hairdresser since my first haircut pretty much, so we always have lots to talk about. I 100% recommend Aaron, he is trying to build his clientele base so he can have regulars. He is also trying to build up a base of dying people's hair. I am now back to dirty blonde completely and I love it! It will be so nice to have a person here now that I can not only go back to myself if I need a cut, but someone that I can also recommend to my friends! read more
