From the moment I checked in to when I left the service was so friendly! Going to a salon for the first time can be very intimidating. That was not the case here! I had my haircut with Terra. She really listened to my wants for how I wanted my hair cut. She really followed through. I haven't had a blowout like that in a while! Let's not forget the hair wash! So relaxing!! Words can barely express how happy and relieved I am to have found Tony Santini to cut my curly hair. In Honolulu, where salons are experts at long straight hair, slightly curled with a curing iron, it's next to impossible to find a curly hair expert. Then the gods brought Tony. He spent a long time looking at pictures to understand exactly what I wanted and the texture of my hair. The shampoo was a great experience because it included lying down instead of the awkward chair, and a scalp massage. First a wet cut to get the length and shape. Followed by a dry cut to fix the curling. After we looked at it, he went back and corrected things that I wanted shorter or thinner. It was a process. Got a haircut here for the first time! I wanted to keep most of my length but still have some weight taken off as well as add more layers! Madi/Maddie/Maddy was my stylist. I have been wanting to donate my hair for a long time but finding an organization to donate it too as well as a hair salon that could follow the guidelines for donation (and be a good salon!) was tough. I finally found both. I donated my hair to Wigs for Kids and I found Every Piece by doing a lot of research and looking at reviews. I'm so happy with who I picked. I booked via their website but beforehand I was able to text them and figure out what kind of cut to do, if they would be able to do it, price, etc. Being able to text was a huge help because I work a couple of jobs and am in school, life gets busy lol. Once I booked, I got an email with details on where to park, how to enter the building and what to expect with the booking. My stylist was Terra and she was so amazing. Not only was she super friendly and we had so much in common but she knew her sh*t! I wanted to do something drastic, even a pixie but we both decided mmm how about a short bob vibe first and then maybe see how my hair would look. It was a good decision because my hair ended up being so curly, different textures in certain areas but the look framed my face and it just worked. I cut a whole 22 inches off. The appointment was for about 90 minutes I believe and included dividing my hair into sections for donation, a wash and cut. I have never had a salon experience before and since this was my first one, I have very high expectations now. Everyone was friendly, helpful and the process was easy. From booking to being offered a drink, getting started on time and having parking available- as well as a good cut?! I won't go to any other salon on island. I found my spot. There's tons of free guest parking in the parking garage - there is a log near the door that you'll need to fill out your time, licence plate, and reason for visiting - so, don't forget! Every Piece Salon is located on the 4th floor, which provides amazing views as you get your hair done. I'm in my natural hair era, so no color for me - just haircuts. I usually go way longer between haircuts than I should (6-ish + months) but now I come way more regularly - about every 3 months! The first time I came in, Tony asked me questions about my hair - how often I wash it, how I style it on the daily, what products I use, etc. The first green flag is that I didn't feel like I was being sold anything but instead was given advice on what's best for my hair type. I would be remiss if I didn't rave about the shampooing and little scalp massage - it's my favorite part. I love that you can lay down (vs. sitting in a chair and leaning your head back) - I close my eyes and it's like I'm in a whole new world. I'm so happy that I found my go-to hair person in Tony! First I want to start off by saying, I rarely feel moved to right reviews for places- good or bad.... I'm just really lazy now days (or underwhelmed by the service I experience) Every Piece Salon is an exception to this. Building is very easy to find and parking is easily accessible. Walking into the salon I was greeted and offered a beverage which is nice not having to wait cause it is hot outside. I was greeted by my hair savior Tasia who at first I was nervous about seeing because I have a lot of fear with haircuts coming out butchered from very reputable and well known salons (in the past) I'm so glad I went. What I asked is exactly what I wanted. Tasia js very sweet, personable, EXCELLENT at LISTENING to what her clients wants and concerns are and what I really appreciate was that she as able to achieve my inspo hair without compromising the length (my hair hasn't trimmed in a while) she also took into consideration my job created layers underneath so when I have my hair up for work it's not sticking out all over. I'm the kindest, most easy going person and I was extremely flexible from the very beginning saying to my stylist, Larissa, that I would be willing to take my time to get to a nice result and even during the service I was trying to work with her and allow room to do what we could. I even offered to cut my hair short to get rid of the box dyed ends. Was I disappointed at the end of my appointment? Yes. To the point of holding back tears. I felt bad about that and did thank her for that work via messaging because it was a full day and I didn't want her to feel bad. But, that's why after a couple of weeks of trying to love it, I asked for a change to rectify my disappointment. The change I asked for was not to platinum, but to something that would cover the purple (black) then with either red or brown to the roots to fix the silver/ash that I didn't end up loving. Then tried to have a conversation with her about a realistic long term goal, like over the course of a year or more and that's when I was fired. For the record, I never wanted a full platinum. I'm changing my rating from a 2 star to a 1 star because of the blatant lying by the owner and insinuating that I was abrasive just so he could try and save face. He never once spoke to me, so doesn't know the truth of it. I pride myself of approaching life with grace and kindness. So to be treated this way is extremely hurtful. I had the best experience! Firstly I called for an appointment booking to do just a haircut. They didn't have anything at the time I was looking for. But then 5 minutes later the receptionist called back saying they had something so I booked it and rushed over. The place was easy to get to and so was the parking. Arriving, I was seated quickly and my stylist Terra came to talk and see what I needed done. I gave her a bit of info on how I treat my hair and what I was looking to get done. The assistant was so nice when washing my hair asking if the temperature of the water was good, if I was comfy, and massage pressure. She was so nice and I got a hair mask (because my hair was dry!!) When she started cutting she was attentive to what I needed and I also gave into what she best thought my hair would need. Super friendly, really clean place. 100% love coming here I've only been twice but the service is AMAZING! And it's so nice inside! It's really relaxing and chill! The prices are great compared to what you'd get at a Regis or Super Cuts for the same price. I went to Regis originally cause the prices were great but I got a $80 trim and when I say trim I mean JUST a trim when I wanted a full cut. Yet when I went here the prices are about the same but the quality is WAY better! The stylist literally brought the image of what I wanted into reality, but as a client it's always good to know what you want and like about a hair style and what you don't want and dislike. It helps them a lot! And try to save some photos of what you want on your phone, the more imagery a stylist has the better! And the even more better they can style you! I wasn't expecting Marissa to remember me since it's been three whole years, but she did! She's the sweetest person ever and is really easy to talk to. She makes sure you're comfortable the entire time as well. I regret not coming back sooner and going to other places to color my hair. Marissa is truly a master hair colorist. I have no idea how she does it, but I just show her some ideas of what I thought looked cute and she works her magic. My hair always come out better than what I was expecting! With the pandemic, I've noticed they definitely take a lot of precautions to ensure the safety of their customers. They sanitize the stations after every customer, take temperature checks, and require you to wash and sanitize your hands before you enter the salon. Parking is free and easy too! When you turn right into the HMA building, you're going to drive up the ramp and park in the reserved stalls. I was told by the parking lot attendant to park in one of the reserved stalls furthest from the entrance/exit. There's ample parking stalls, so you dont need to worry about looking for parking. My color makeover, hair cut, deep conditioning treatment, and a few other miscellaneous things came out to about $800 with tip. It's pricey, but definitely well worth the splurge. read more

Kelly has been slayinggg my hair for about 3-4 years now and it's always the best time when I see her. Other than the fact that she takes care of my hair & scalp health, but she always takes her time to educate me about color theory and gives me ideal & realistic advice and results. I don't know why I haven't written a review sooner! I've been going to Every Piece Salon for years. I followed Christina from Paul Mitchell to EPS and I am glad she came to such a great salon. The salon is located in the Hawaii Medical Association building. There is a parking lot drive way that heads up and there is free visitor parking! Go inside the building (if you go on a Sunday, there is a speaker where you can dial in), and they're on the 4th floor. The entire staff including the owner is so nice and welcoming. When I started coming here, I was a bit intimidated because I've never been to a higher-end salon (I was the person who went to Fantastic Sams lol) but everyone here is anything but intimidating! You're going to get what you pay for when you come here. From check in, to hair washing, to styling, they know what they're doing. I found Christina at Every Piece Salon through a 5-star Yelp review, and wanted to add my own praises for her talent, especially for anyone in my situation. I had my first appointment for "gray-blending" with Christina about 2 months ago. At the time, my hair was frizzy and shapeless, and had about 3 bands of color...root grow out at the crown (including white hairs), salon dye, and my own box dye. My hair shaft and ends were brassy. I had a lot going on. My hair required the analysis of someone with vision and a lot of experience with bleaching, and I completely found the right person in Christina. She gave me face-framing layers. For the color, she cooled down everything, with a money piece to brighten my face, and added cool, grayish blonde highlights that blend seamlessly with the white grow out. The redness in my naturally dark hair is gone. I'm in transition to growing out my gray hairs, and 2 months after my appointment, my hair still looks good. No more root touch-ups every 3 weeks! Christina also taught me how to properly care for my hair with the right shampoos and masques. The salon location is convenient and they have parking stalls so you don't need to feed a meter for parking! It's a friendly and peaceful vibe at this salon too. I highly recommend them! read more

If there is a promised land for hair heathens who have been coloring their own hair for the past year due to COVID (and maybe being cheap), this is "Redemption". In the same way you've been feeding your toddler healthy for their first three years, and then they discover a rogue M&M in the trail mix you thought you had weeded out. That look on their face of pure ecstasy and then realization you've been holding out on them their entire lives! This is kind of like that experience. Don't believe me? Let me explain. I had been doing my own hair since COVID and being a middle aged woman who doesn't have to answer to anyone, I felt like it would be appropriate to re-visit my 80's teens and do the wild colors I used to do. I'm not going to lie, it was fun! I had fun with Fuschia Pink and Stop Sign Red. But at some point, I felt like I needed a change in a new direction, but didn't pack that map. Enter "Every Piece Salon". The booking was easy, with follow up questions like "What are you looking to do?" and "What do you look like now?" (Fair enough) After explaining my situation, and that I wanted to go in a new direction. (From Stop Sign Red to Silver Fox) they set me up with a consultation. Their Salon is downtown on Betaravia (with free parking!) and was easy to find. After sending in an online statement saying I was COVID free and had not traveled outside Hawai'i recently, I entered the Salon and was directed to the sink, washing my hands, handed a paper towel and shown to my chair. Christina was to be my stylist. She did a strand test and we realized that there would need to be a little compromise or wiggle room on the color, since it was such a drastic change. No big deal on my part. I don't want someone promising something that they can't deliver. She was very personable and professional. They gave me an honest quote for color and cut. I made my next appointment. As luck would have it, they had a last minute cancellation, and Kaley, the fantastic receptionist, followed up with a text asking if I could come in the next day. Of course! As another fantastic Yelp Reviewer already noted, there is pampering from beginning to end. Can I just repeat my love for the "all the way lay-back shampoo station"? Are you kidding me? You mean I don't have to do a spine wrenching C curve with my neck to accommodate the wash basin? I felt like I was in First Class on the Airplane, with no Stewardess to bar me from entrance with a scolding "If only you would have tried harder on the S.A.T.'s!" In addition to this, the whole crew works with a Hive Mind and helps each other out effortlessly. They work together to help out whenever possible, asking and learning from each other. They ask questions about formulas for bleach and product and technique and are genuinely interested in adding to their own knowledge. This not only makes them a more efficient team, but makes them a respected repository of knowledge and expertise. No one is trying to steal each other's clients or back stab. That is rare in this atmosphere. Christina and staff took 4 and a half HOURS on me. Taking color out, bleaching, rinse and repeat, and depositing color in. Since the red was clinging tighter than a Kindergartener on the first day of school, we opted to do a game changing purple that really popped! Then the cut. Lots taken off the back, sides and back were shaved and sharpened. The top can be worn forward floofing or Dyke-tastic Pompadour. My wife was more than pleased! I couldn't be more thankful to ALL the women who worked my hair through the process and were as eleemosynary and careful with how I was treated (Like spun gold!) I was additionally amused by the "video taking" that Christina did as well as Kaley, in what seemed to be an intriguing study into "Hair Disasters and WORST case scenarios" 101! I always say, "If I can't be a shining example of perfection, then let me be a neon-flashing, cautionary tale." Needless to say, they achieved the impossible and I was quite pleased with the results for my 50th birthday. read more

She hooked me up with the best haircut I've ever had. Also they shampooed my hair twice and did a mask. I think the girl doing that was an apprentice but she did not hold back.
