I came in for a root touch-up ahead of a wedding this weekend and had a great experience. I arrived a little early and was warmly greeted and seated right away. The salon itself is stylish and very welcoming. Linda was my stylist, and she was fantastic --attentive, collaborative, and made sure I was involved in every step of the decision-making process. The scalp and neck massage alone is worth coming back for; it was incredibly relaxing. The music playlist was also a perfect touch and made the whole experience even better. Such a great find! I'll definitely be back! read more

This was my second time getting a haircut with Kelly because the first time was such a great experience! I had some idea of how I wanted my hair cut this time around, but wasn't too sure. I was comfortable with asking Kelly on her thoughts because I wanted direction and advice - I had my hair cut elsewhere before, and they either weren't able to provide me recommendations regarding my hair type or just took my request and weren't able to give me proper direction. My haircut turned out way better than I expected! Kelly was great to chat with during my haircut session and made me feel comfortable. I also saw other clients having a great time chatting with their hair stylists - so no matter who you go with, you'll be in good hands! read more

I've been going to Dee for over 5 years now -- even back before he opened his own salon -- and there's a reason I've stayed this loyal. I usually go to him for both my haircuts and balayage, and every single time I leave loving how my hair turns out. His skills are truly top tier compared to other stylists on the island. I tried several hair stylists around Oahu before finding him, and none of them compared. Dee is incredibly talented, but what I appreciate most is his honesty. He'll always tell you what will actually look best for you rather than just doing something trendy that may not suit you. His salon is also absolutely adorable. The space has beautiful pink décor with gold accents that gives it such a warm, stylish vibe (definitely feels like his wife's aesthetic!). Both Dee and his wife are so sweet and welcoming, and their energy makes you feel like more than just a client -- it makes you want to keep coming back long-term. For anyone trying to find the salon: it's located on the 10th floor of the Ala Moana Center office building. The entrance is directly across from Genki Sushi inside the mall, which makes it really easy to locate once you know where to go. Most importantly, I trust Dee completely with my hair. That's why I don't go to any other hair artists or stylists on Oahu. He genuinely cares about his clients and about the quality of his work. He takes pride in his art and never wants you to leave disappointed. On top of that, he's a great conversationalist -- and I say that as someone who is naturally pretty introverted. Every appointment feels like catching up with a friend. Dee is also someone who carries a lot of wisdom, and seeing him always feels like a breath of fresh air. If you're looking for someone you can truly trust with your hair, Dee is it. read more

If you need a new style or looking for a different vibe to get your hair done, then come see the amazing talent at Salon Allure. Located in the Ala Moana Building with BOH on the ground floor. They are on the 10th floor in unit 1010. Parking is free in the mall and connected to the mall from the 4th floor of the mall structure, if you can find parking on that floor. You will see a small ramp that connects to their parking lot. Their unit space is so chic and pink with modern and natural lighting, great music playing, and cute puffy chairs that the vibe beckons you to just come sit and unwind. For my hair I mainly only need a haircut, so I have Janet tends to my needs and has such a great spot next to the window. You can see all the way to the ocean from her chair. Besides the view, Janet is very experienced and talented in this field, so feel assured your wishes will be met. My favorite part of my hair cut is the hair washing... sooo therapeutic. She is very passionate about her work and offers a drink and treats if you need something before she starts. She says she does color, and perms beside cutting hair so if those are also your wishes just talk to Janet and she'll tell you what she can do for you. Till my next pamper sesh, Grind On, Pau! read more

Even after moving to Las Vegas, I still would come back to Hawaii for work and would make it a point to see Dee at least once a year to get my hair cut and colored. A best friend referred me to Dee. She always has great hair and I knew she doesn't just trust anyone to do her hair, so I knew I would be in good hands. I have seen Dee for at least 4 years and he has consistently done a great job. Because I get balayage coloring, it is an all-day appointment (~8 hours to cut, color, and style), so it is a good thing that Dee and his wife are amazing at talking while working. One of the reasons why I go to Dee is because he not only does a great job with my hair, but he also tells me what to do for upkeep with the hair including what shampoos and conditioner to use. The ambiance of Salon Allure is very chic and high class. I love the pink decor with the gold accents. While it is an all-day process, Dee is worth the time and money. read more

Absolutely in love with Janet!! I have been going to her for the past 5 years, and I would never go anywhere else now! I've been going to Dee for the past 9 years, and I truly can't recommend him and his salon enough. The level of consistency, professionalism, and care I've experienced over nearly a decade is unmatched. The salon and it's stylists are always warm, welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful, making every appointment feel like a personalized experience. I've had the pleasure of having both Dee and Yoyo work on my hair, and both stylists individually are amazing so you truly can't go wrong coming to Salon Allure. Their skills are top tier; whether it's a simple trim, balayage, universal color, color correction, or just an overall makeover, they always deliver exactly what I envision (and sometimes even better!). The pricing is incredibly fair for the level of expertise and quality you're getting. One of the things I value most is the exceptional customer service. On the very rare occasions when I wasn't completely satisfied with the initial result, they handled it with nothing but professionalism and respect. There's never any ego or defensiveness, just a genuine desire to make things right. They always go above and beyond to ensure I leave happy, and I truly appreciate how easy and comfortable they make the process. That kind of care and dedication is hard to find and is a big reason why I've stayed a loyal client for so many years. If you're looking for a stylist who really knows their craft, takes pride in their work, and treats clients with respect and care, this is the salon for you. I literally do not trust my hair with anyone else! read more

My favorite salon on the island! The owners are as skillful in their craft as they are stylish. They take care in making sure you look and feel your best with your haircut or any other styling services you might need. This is my go to for premium haircuts and also I've recently started to experiment with perms. They made me feel comfortable in exploring new styles. Highly recommend Dee and Yoyo! read more

Dee is amazing--I've been going to him for over six years, and no other salon on the island compares. He takes his time to protect your hair, and his meticulous, seasoned technique always delivers. He's thoughtful, consistently offering drinks and snacks, and it's a joy to see him and his wife--they're hilarious and make every visit a good time. I wouldn't trust my hair with anyone else and recommend him to all my friends. Bonus: the salon is kid-friendly, with a playroom full of toys so you can unwind while your little ones stay entertained. My go to hair person is Janet! I requested to do pink balayage and girl she delivered! I've never done pink in my life and she chose the most pretty color pink that suits me. She knew that money pieces would frame my face and I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair whenever I go out. If I could recommend anyone to do hair it would be Janet! D & Yoyo at Salon Allure are gems ! I walked in with dull, lifeless hair and left feeling absolutely beautiful. I had such a great experience at this salon. Kelly was my hairdresser and she did an absolutely amazing job with my highlights. They look so natural and blended so beautifully into my hair. It's exactly what I was hoping for, and I've already gotten a ton of compliments from friends and even strangers. What really stood out to me, though, was how kind and accommodating Kelly was. After I got home, I realized I wanted to go a bit shorter with the layers. I reached out, and she had no problem letting me come back in to make the adjustment. She made the whole process feel really easy and made sure I was completely happy with the final look. You can tell she really cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for someone skilled, professional, and just genuinely lovely to work with. read more

Oh, and they offered me a a super yummy complimentary coffee last time I was there! Kelly is an absolute magician with perms on thin highlighted hair. For decades I've been getting Air Neutralized perms once or twice a year in which I skip the neutralizer and keep the rods in for 24 hours, then no styling or washing for 2-3 days so the bonds are stronger. Kelly is an absolute magician when it comes to hair. I have been seeing her for a good two years I feel. When you find someone who knows what they're doing and who makes every chair session absolutely amazing, I just knew I had to follow her. I would honestly follow her to any place on the island, she is worth it and she is worth any drive to be able to get my hair done by her. I always leave feeling and looking like a million bucks. She's the sweetest and it feels like I've known her forever. She can cut, color, style and you will leave her chair feeling like you want to come back over and over again. Salon Allure is conveniently located near the Ala Moana Mall and there is ample parking. They offer you drinks and snacks and the atmosphere is relaxing. The inside is cute and cozy and not to mention their fire playlist. I sat in that chair and kept reaching for my phone to shazam the songs that were playing to add to my personal playlists. Bottomline, if there is anything that you can take away from my rambling review. Kelly is amazing and I will be going to her for years to come. You should too! read more

Kelly is a hair whisperer and a total rockstar. I followed her to Salon Allure because when you find someone who can actually make sense of hair like mine (we're talking full-on Chia Pet action), you don't let that go. She's super skilled with cuts, color, and perms. Somehow, she gets my hair to behave without a fight--Which is impressive considering the mess she's working with. On top of that, she's got this awesome, quirky personality that makes every appointment fun. Super friendly, always down-to-earth, and just a pleasure to be around. Salon Allure is on the 10th floor of the Ala Moana Building, right next to Ala Moana Shopping Center. There's plenty of parking, which is a huge plus. The space has a strong pink aesthetic, but it's laid-back and welcoming once you're in. You can tell everyone enjoys being there, which definitely adds to the charm. If your hair's been testing your patience and you need someone who knows what they're doing (and makes it fun), go see Kelly. Seriously--you'll be glad you did. You're welcome in advance. read more

I've been meaning to leave this review forever, my bad...but I've been going to Dee for YEARS (10+ years! omg I feel old...) he is the best and I always love my color and cut. My mom even started going to him for the last several years now, too, and also loves him! She always raves after and always looks n feels so amazing. LOVE MY HAIR-- I'm very particular when it comes to my hair & only get it done when I go to Korea but my hair has been needing some TLC. After some extensive research, I found Janet at Salon Allure. The interior of the store was sooo cute & clean-- everything gave pink and girly vibes i loved it. Janet was so kind & welcoming when I came in and I showed her a reference photo of my desired look and she confidentally told me she can do it. I've been to many "high-end" salons in hawaii and a lot of stylists often tell me "we can try" and as a client, it is not reassuring hearing that so I was very happy throughout the entire process. Everything from the wash/head massage, cut, to styling was very professional and everything I envisioned. Thank you again Janet. Book with her next time you go! read more

Salon Allure is amazing. When you walk into the salon, you're met with the cutest pink décor, which subtly reminds me how important self-love is. Even the simple act of doing your hair can elevate your mood and brighten your day. The hair stations are very modern, featuring large mirrors, adding to the overall chic vibe. I'm so grateful to have been referred to Salon Allure because the quality of their work is absolutely stunning. I've been a loyal customer of Yoyo, who is not only confident but has an incredible eye for what looks good. She's very detail-oriented and takes the extra step to ensure your hairstyle not only looks great but also complements your face shape. What truly makes this place special, though, is Yoyo and Dennis. From day one, I've always felt welcomed and in safe hands. They're such down-to-earth people, running a small, family-owned business, working so hard to get where they are now. I always leave Salon Allure feeling beautiful. I highly recommend this salon and will continue to be a loyal customer. I've been coming to Yoyo since she was hapai (pregnant), and seeing her little one in the salon feels like such a treat.
