Went in for a quick cut, I have a bob ear-length with the lower back very short. It was now too long. I showed her how I wanted it cut by using my hand from where it starts, then a "little" shorter in the back. When she started to cut my hair, she turned my chair away from the mirror so I couldn't see what she was doing. When it was over, I really wanted to cry! She butchered it to an INCH at the top and around, very short on the sides and everywhere. So shes say's I said shorter in the back...I said a LITTLE shorter only in the back towards the top, even showed her with my hands, guess she forgot!! I said wanted to look nice for Thanksgiving, but this? I still want to cry about this awful looking hair cut!!! And, I PAID for it.....I should get a refund!!!! I won't go there again! read more

I asked for a layered hair cut and I had long hair. Now I have shoulder length hair. Should probably try a different supercuts since I felt like the lady didn't do what I wanted and only what she wanted...the easy way for her. Asked for a very easy no fuss haircut that any hairdresser should do easily- I have long hair and asked for a couple long layers. The lady cut my length more than necessary which is no biggie but taper cut the sides. I mentioned again about the layers and kinda gestured at the taper. I said nicely that it was a nice taper but not layers. She pretty much ignored me. I pointed out some uneven parts and she acted bothered that she had to fix them but never cut one layer! She just proceeded to blow dry it into a terrible style and poof! Send me on my way. I should've went in the next day and complained and got my haircut fixed but I could not due to my work schedule. I dislike leaving bad reviews but in this case I have to help prevent anyone from getting a really bad haircut and experience. read more

If I could rate this place lower I would. I went in wanting a short hair cut and showed the stylist pictures and she butchered my hair. The whole time she grumbled about how much hair I have. WTH?!? Worst haircut and haircut experience! This was my 1 yr old son's first haircut at a barbershop. All prior cuts had been done at home. I informed the barber of this and told her my son had never experienced electric clippers before so he might be afraid of them. I asked the barber to use just scissors for the cut. I showed her an example of what I wanted done and she said she could do it with scissors. Shortly after starting she brought out the electric clippers and as expected, my son started screaming and crying. I asked the barber again to just use scissors. She switched to scissors but again, shortly after switched to the electric clippers. By this time my son was having a full-on meltdown. The barber kept making several annoyed sighs and was visibly frustrated with my son. I kept asking how I could help but she ignored me. I tried having my son watch a video on my phone. The barber rudely ordered the sweet receptionist girl to hold my phone and stand in front of my son. The result was the worst haircut I've ever seen; nothing near the picture I had shown the barber. My son had been difficult by crying, screaming, not staying still but rather than to help calm him, she further aggravated him by using the electric clippers and by acting upset with him. My son's first barbershop experience which should have been a special experience was ruined by this barber. Never again will we ever go to a Supercuts. Pretty mediocre barbers with ok services. They are located right outside Ala Moana center right by Walmart. What strikes me the most was their $3.95 sanitization surcharge. There are so many things go wrong with this. First, they have a very small note inside, but Yiu won't know they charge you extra unless you go inside. I only noticed it after I completed my haircut. And it left me with no choice but pay for it. Second, the $3.95 is way too much for sanitization purpose. A regular sanitization involves minimum supplies, and they are all very cheap. Third, sanitation is necessary in any circumstances even with no COVID. And it should not be charged extra for it. Can you imagine being charged for clean dishes fee when you go to a restaurant? This is not the way you should run the business. I definitely do not recommend this behavior and this chain read more

Customer service really gone down I've been going to this particular Super Cuts since 2015 (over eight years!) almost exclusively. Even though there is one just down the road from my house. Always had good experience and nice haircuts here. This time, i checked in on the app as usual, waiting patiently for my slot. But it was not to be. Not only was there a loud and arrogant tourist family who was allowed to take over the entire place like some kind of obnoxious hurricane, but just as they were finally about to leave another woman showed up and immediately plopped into the one empty chair declaring she 'checked in online'. Beg you pardon, i checked in online 40 minutes and I'm RIGHT HERE. So when they proceeded with her completely ignoring my presence, I canceled the check-in on my phone and walked out. READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GOING!!! I don't know why I thought this was a Fantastic Sam's when I called to set an appt. Anyhow, I called in on Saturday to set an appt for Sunday morning which the women on the other line asked to hold while she takes a look at the schedule. She returns and ask if I was coming in for a haircut and I said, no, I needed a root touch up, she then asked if 9:30a would be ok for me, which was perfect! I live a few blocks from Walmart so I figure, it was a nice day out, that I'd walk over to my appt. I said I'm here for a 9:30a appt when she asked who did I schedule my appt with, I told her I didn't get their name, she asked if it was a guy, I said no, it was a woman. At this time I wasn't feeling welcomed at all! She opened the schedule book and I see my name is written in the books for 9:30a and 2 other names for later times but their names were highlighted vs mines which was not. She asked what was I getting and I said a roots touch-up and she kinda eyed up my hair and said that she needs to reschedule me because they don't do coloring in the mornings???????? Ok what???!!! She said she doesn't know who scheduled me but that they don't do hair coloring in the mornings!! She asked if she can reschedule me for a later time which I agreed, just to be nice, but I was already irritated and am glad I wasn't serviced. If their customer service was like that, I could only imagine the hair coloring. I came home and read the reviews and this place is terrible! There is more bad reviews than good!!! That's a clue!! I will stick to Fantastic Sam's where they want my business and treats me well!! SUPERCUTS, you don't deserve a star for my experience today!! Never before and never again will I be a customer! The stylist was very nice, but the service was not good. Although there were two other stylists that were not working on customers, there were so many long interruptions because the stylists that was "servicing me" was also busy taking in reservations for walk in customers and answering in-coming phone calls. The stylist just did a straight hair cut, but didn't even do any checks on any trimmings. I went home and found long strands that I had to cut myself. I went in wanting a layered hair cut, but after all the interruptions I didn't want to stay longer to only be waiting longer and to pay more for an unsatisfied service. Was in need to quick trim. Couldn't get my normal barber so I went here..... should've known the quality at Supercuts after my many encounters but I gave it the benefit of the doubt.. Asked not to have my hair cut at the back but continues to cut my hair after speaking to her about it multiple times. Her clippers were off and wasn't aligned so it scratched my head leaving it to bleed immediately after the cut. I couldn't bare to stay longer so I kept my mouth shut so I could cut it myself at home. Well it's 9:10. I'm standing outside the locked door (signs on the door say "open" and "hours 9:00-..." There's a woman inside but she's obviously just ignoring me. I usually come here a few times a year but the service keeps getting worse (as the prices get higher). Guess I'll have to find a new place to get a haircut. *10 minutes later. I called Malin at 4:31 p.m. in the car wash Thursday July 28th, I was told I have to wait until tomorrow to get a haircut, then I went there at 5:45, Malin asked me if I wanted a haircut, I said "yes please" then I asked to dye my hair as well, Malin said "there isn't enough time" so I asked "can I just dye my hair then?" I was told there's no time to dye hair either. Then a man walked in looking at shampoos and she told me "there's my appointment" but he didn't have one. Then I asked "is this your final answer? Malin said "someone will do your hair tomorrow. I walked out of there shaking my head in amazement after calling the corporate office leaving a voice message. Worst SuperCuts I've ever been to. Asked for short sides and mid length top so it can be styled up and the hairstylist went front to back with the electric cutters. She was also very rough and showed little care how she was cutting. When cutting the back of my head instead of having me look down she choked up on the paper collar and pulled back. The only good thing to come from this was a really fast cut, but only because she basically gave me a buzz cut. Her name is Sheila. Never going to go to this location ever again. read more

Finally after waiting a month to do my hair I finally got the chance to have time and actually go dye my hair! Called in ahead of time to schedule a appointment for hair color, I came in right away before one of the girl got off. Didn't have to wait at all once I got into the store. I got seated right away. I had Kayla as my hair stylist she had like cotton candy color hair which was really cute and pretty! I told her you can color whatever you want with me hair I don't mind. So she did whatever to my hair. She told me she's gonna lighten my hair more so the green will get off or turn into mint green and have the top of my head blonde as well. It took a while for my hair to have all the bleach on it. Took about 2 hours for her to get all the hair cuz I have super thick hair so it took more time and bleach. After that we waited 30mins to get it soaked in and lighten more so the green would go away. After that we finally washed off the bleach and got to do the best part! COLOR! Some of my hair was mint green or white So she picked 2 of her colors that would go on my hair. She picked purple for the top and bright pink on the bottom end. The color didn't take as much as the bleach did, it was way more quicker and the color was nice! After putting the color on we waited another 30mins to let it sit. After that we finally rinsed everything out, the color came out perfect! But instead of the purple staying purple it changed to like a darker red/ maroon color and the pink was all shades of pink since the bleach didn't take out all the green so there's like light pink, dark pink and a faded pink. But it really turned out nice after the blow drying! It was something I wasn't expecting and I LOVE IT! She knows me best and I Love her for it! THANKS SO MUCH KAYLA FOR THE AMAZING HAIR DYE! Love it so much! I recommend having Kayla as your hair stylist! She's really talkative and keep you company while doing your hair. She knows how to make a customer smile and communicate with them:) Especially if your getting a hair dye, go for Kayla! It's not the first time I used Supercuts I've used them multiple times here in Hawaii and in the Mainland. First off, I don't expect fancy smancy haircut. It was the spur of the moment to have my haircut and I've had the same style since 2007, so I went in blind. I FINALLY found the hair style I wanted and showed her a picture of it and it didn't come out anything close to what it looked like. When she started to do my hair she was struggling to comb my hair out because I had the got-to-be glue hair product (which is stronger then most products) I honestly thought I was gonna break her comb (haha). Common knowledge by looking and feeling my hair you NEEDED to spray water because it was very stiff and she thought a mere comb is gonna brush out my thick hair with no water added to it, HELLO! I don't know the procedures of hair if you're suppose to wash it before or after. A young adult was scheduled to cut hair and his hairstylist washed his hair and he didn't have any type of product in his hair what so ever. Can someone explain all that to me?!?!?!? She had no customer service skill. I didn't expect her to make conversations, but at least have the service skills and fake it till you make it. I wasn't happy with my hair cut what so ever. I came about a 3 weeks ago to get my haircut. The lady who cut my hair really messed it up! I was unhappy with the haircut after I went home to take a shower. I called and spoke to Pua and explained how I felt and how my hair cut looked after I left the store. Pua remembered me and what the stylist did to my hair. She offered me a complimentary haircut and style the next time I was available! I also explained to her that I travel back and forth from Maui, and she reassured me to just contact her or the store and they will take care of it! Had it not been for Pua, I would have never tried to come back! Hair stylists are hard to come by and if you take a chance on a person and place, only to have a bad experience.... I usually don't return to give them a second chance. It's so hard to find a great stylist and even harder to find establishments that go above and beyond for their customers. Let me just start off by saying you are better off not scheduling an appointment. I had called earlier in the day and made an appointment for 4pm. About 5 walk-ins came almost immediately after me and every single one of them had gotten a haircut all before me. By 4:30 I'm getting a little impatient and after seeing yet another walk in get seated before me I finally decide to remind one of the ladies of my appointment?? Apparently the stylist they had booked me with had already left for the day!! So they call for someone in the back to come out and cut my hair. The stylist spent majority of the appointment talking to a client next to me. And the haircut itself was awful. I had asked for face framing layers, a reasonable and simple request - or so I thought. Instead she cut two large chunks of hair on either side that did not blend with the rest of the hair AT ALL. The haircut was uneven and when I went home I noticed long pieces of hair that she forgot to cut. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you are willing to risk an awful haircut and awful customer service. read more

Asked for a 7/8th" buzz all the way around, and she acted like I was from Mars. It's an 1/8th of an inch shorter than 1" I told her. She said she didn't have that adapter size (I have two myself at home) & I said I'd settle for 1". But then she leaves the bangs much longer & I have to ask her to shorten them. Hair kept getting under my apron & itching like crazy. Don't most places put a rag under the neck of the apron? She's very rushed with her movements but polite here & there for the most part. I also ask her to not go too high up on the sideburns. I guess for her that's still the upper part of the ear, bcz theyre super short....shorter than I like Then when I get home I noticed she left the hair too long on the left top of my head....I'm gonna end up just shaving it myself now. I'm not sure what the girl's name was to cut my hair(if she sees this review and recognize my face edit my review and put your name in) but when you walk in she's the first one on the left behind the register. Yes- if you need to have a kid get a hair cut quickly- sometimes there is no other option. Let Us say that your child does something- hummm, Creative with their hair, and there is still school tomorrow. You need to do something and there isn't time to do something else. Luckily there is supercuts that can at least fix the problem for say $10 including tip. It is not a wedding best presentation of hair but it is good enough to go to school the next day. I don't like supercuts but in a pinch when there is no other options- I'm glad that it is at least close enough and has relatively competent hair stylists that can fix 'mistakes.' I have a guy friend that gets haircuts near weekly because of work, he is not Sen. Edwards level of $400 haircuts weekly for on the road, he is supercuts weekly cause of work. He likes it trimmed and tailored and I guess he likes the people that he visits- If you have seen me IRL, you know I am not that way. But there can be those winner hairstylists that do get your style just right and can do a great job. Right around the corner from Walmart so that is a plus in the parking department, and waiting is no problem as there are plenty of things to do while there is a wait. read more

Went for a cut and color. I have never been so disappointed. I have fine fair that is very easy to cut/color. I usually go to the hair school in Chinatown and love it. I didn't have time to go there and walked to this store. My hair looks terrible. I went in with a warm blonde color and asked to color the gray. This is way too blonde and it looks nothing like the base color I walked into the store with. I was confused when the hairdresser cut my hair first and when it was dry. As a result, I still have bad ends. I will wait a week and correct this hairstyle and it will cost me double what I paid. This was the worst $125.00 I have ever spent.
