For a very long time now, I dreaded getting haircuts or stepping foot into hair salons due to the fact that most hairdressers always had something negative to say about my hair. It made me feel insecure and embarrassed when they made comments or gave me unsolicited advice. I came across this location because of my boyfriend. The establishment itself its kept clean and all the ladies are polite. I personally enjoy getting my hair cut by Nathalie. She's very friendly and knowledgeable. She listens to what ideas I have for my hair and gives me her honest opinion when I ask for it. She makes helpful suggestions based on the idea I have during the appointment and always asks for my approval before going to the next step. Although a haircut may seem simple, for me it hasn't always been a pleasant experience, but I'm very happy to say that Nathalie always does a great job and I will continue to come back with her. From one textured hair to another, thank you! read more

Must say the environment in there busy or slow is always top tier. The quality of a haircut when I leave from there leaves me fresh & clean. Nathalie, I must say thank you for the time & effort you put into my haircut everytime I come in. Nonetheless, the attention to detail you put into my haircut is chefs kiss. See you soon and thanks again read more

This is a SUPER Supercuts in my opinion. All the staff are kind, friendly, skilled, and professional but my favorite stylist is Celia. All the staff strive to meet the client's request but I feel that Celia works miracles on my hair. So grateful for her. read more

I really appreciated Stephanie's patience and professionalism! I'd definitely recommend her. Unfortunately, other times it's hostile but she made today's visit worth it. The manager here is amazing and pays attention to detail. I got the tea tree treatment and oh my goodness so worth it. She has magic hands

Hit and miss with this one. Been here several times, cuts are ok. Second time making an appointment and they were again 25 almost 30 minutes passed my appointment time calling us up for the cut. It's frustrating and incredibly annoying when you made the appointment to get out on time. read more

Yolanda did such a horrible job it made me reconsider giving up on hair stylist all together and cutting my own hair. She didn't even fade in the crappy layers she made. I can't even hide it with a pony tail or hair clip. I would never recommend super cuts read more

If I could give more than 5 stars for Naomi who handled 2 situations that could have had a horrible turn out I would just for her. I'm hoping a manager knows the value of a good worker, employee. Just this day alone in the hours I was there could have turned out to be a bad situation for everyone. Let me start off by saying this please do not walk in wanting multiple services folks. In all essential businesses people tend to get busy. Now , I'm not saying they do not accommodate because they will and do I seen it myself. There is plenty parking but remember it is shared parking as other businesses are there as well. This was my 2nd visit here to this Supercuts. Well I was there in a chair there was a customer who was beyond rude and made a big scene. Which made my visit somewhat uncomfortable. Naomi handled the situation well as can be. Thus gentleman walk in saying he made an appointment. Which was true but at a different location. So another thing make sure you show up at the right location for services before making a huge scene. Martha , my stylist fixed wonders in me well I walked in with 50 shades of Grey's and red lol. She gave me her advice she went to work. I got my hair colored , trimmed, special condition for a good price. Oh did I mention a style as well. So while in the stylist chair as I was almost done another incident took place. Where unfortunately we were all feeling uncomfortable . Uncomfortable enough that a customer called 911 while I was there. A walkin client came in and was highly rude to Naomi she handled the situation as best as possible, remained calm, tried to help the gentleman who just refused to cooperate or be happy with being fit in the schedule. All chairs were filled she even had a client that was waiting for her while she was handling this situation. Employees were scared as I. These days it is hard to tell how others will react or what they will do. I most definitely was frightened at what was to come upon his return hoping I was gone same time hoping others were safe. 911 was called unfortunately the man left already before cops arrived. Getting back to the stylist and atmosphere it was great besides the 2 confrontational incidents. Martha was awesome friendly and thru all the choas she wore a smile although scared. read more

I was hesitant about coming here. To be honest, the last place that came to mind when thinking of getting a hair trim was Supercuts. I thought it was more of a barbershop. But I'm completely shocked how much I've enjoy coming to this location. This is the only Supercuts I have ever been to, and I plan on keeping it this way. Noemi, the manager is always in high demand, so make sure you book your appointment ahead of time or give any of the other ladies a try. I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

I called in to make an appointment and got there in time. When I went in they asked me to sit and wait. I had to wait 25 mins. What is the point of making an appointment? Since the manager replied and explained the situation satisfactorily I am changing it to 4. Hopefully I won't have to wait on the next one. read more

So I was in Downey on a Sat around 6ish and I had two hours to kill. I decided to get a shampoo and blow dry. I walked in with no appointments.. and was seen within minutes. There wasn't really a wait at that time which was good for me. The shampoo was good. It lasted about 6 or 7 minutes. Then the lady sat me at her hair station. What was weird.. was that while she was drying my hair, another lady who worked there just came and sat in the chair at the work station next to me. She would just sit there and look at people, including me. If she was further away, it would have been okay.. but the distance was pretty close. Anyway.. the blow dry was okay. She didn't do that thing some places do where they use a round brush comb with the blow dryer to curl your hair. What I didn't like was that she put too much serum in my hair. She kept going back for it with each layer of hair she would blow dry. $4 for a shampoo $28 for blow dry The total came out to $32! For that price, I would rather go to The Drybar. (http://www.thedrybar.com/main.html) Where that's what they specialize in! Yelp review here (http://www.yelp.com/biz/drybar-los-angeles-2) read more

Called for haircut/shampoo, Katie was available, who did excellent job.In/out in 30 mins!

Worst Supercuts! Worst customer service. I made an appointment for my 1 and half year old at this location 11/12/2021 at 4:20pm. I'm not sure who the women's name is but she was older, Hispanic, with glasses and ponytail. She refused to let my son sit on a booster and for let wanted him to sit on my lap!!! I started getting my sons haircuts at a year old at the marketplace location on Gallatin sitting in a booster with absolutely no problem!!! Always greeted so nicely and always felt like we were getting the best customer service. Today has been the worst far experience with Supercuts. Management really needs to train their employees to be able to handle all young and older customers to make them comfortable so just for themselves. Got her name. I believe it was Martha. Thanks for the worst experience today! read more

I must say that I was a new customer to this location. yet I'm glad I did because now this is my go too hair place from now on . I was a walk in yet the hairstylist there Blanca took me in right away. She listen to my concerns about getting my hair too short and did exactly what I asked for and suggested a hair treatment that made my hair feel so soft .Very affordable too ...TOTALLY pleased .they were all very friendly actually.... I could tell that it's a place that takes time to service their clientele: I will definitely be going back.Totally recommend this Supercuts read more

The lady cutting my hair was so rude and made me feel very uncomfortable when I was getting a hair cut.. earlier today we went to a diff ent location in Santa Fe springs to cut my boyfriend hair and they were so nice but this lady was rude from the start .. will never go back to this location I wonder why I'm reading other reviews and they say cops were called here .. the cut was okay it wasn't what I wanted or asked for but it's not super ugly .. save your self a trip and go to a different location read more

It was a pleasant visit, but the work the worst ever, went for a short hair roots coloring and got a scalp coloring the gray hair still is there, the Manager is well knowledgeable but the personnel should not be working in this field maybe other type of coloring I mentioned the stylist she was not using enough color paste she ignored me, I end up with face and ears painted even my girlfriend was upset, paying $50 for a crappy work, I would never recommend SUPERCuts in the picture read more

I moved out to Downtown LA a few years now and it's hard finding a great hair stylist. I decided to give SuperCuts in Downey a try because of the rave reviews. I went in yesterday morning and I'm glad I did! I happen to get my hair cut by the stylist Blanca (whom I read the great reviews about prior before). Not only is she great.. She's fast, very friendly, and I absolutely love the style of cut she gave me!!! :D Not only am I excited for my new cut.. I appreciate the friendly staff, the reasonable price and how well organize they are with their valued customers.. Thank you Blanca!!! You're awesome! Definitely will be seeing me again for a next cut :) Continue.. I came by Tuesday, but Blanca wasn't there! I took a risk in having Joanna cut my hair.. and I'm glad a did! Love my cute asymmetrical short bob! Not only did you bring bounce to my hair, but I no longer feel self conscious in leaving my hair down. Thank you Joanna.. you're AWESOME!!!! read more

I made an appointment for two hair cuts early Sunday morning but when I got there for my appointment I was told I needed to wait 40 mins to 1 hour. I've been coming here for a long time and I've never experienced that. I don't understand why make appointments if you're not going to honor them. read more

Horrible experience. I came in and asked to sign in and after being stared at like she didn't understand what I was saying said she can't check me in but I can wait in the store. I asked why and she said it's too long of a wait. I asked the wait and she said 1 hour (which isn't long I would have waited) I stepped to the side while she was able to check in another customer. The lady that helped was named Martha and had horrible customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

Parking is a major issue with this location, and not making appointments. You can call 45 minutes before to be put on the list. I always like the cut. Usually we have the same stylist. They take MasterCard and Visa, but not American Express. read more

I came in for a haircut with an appointment. My appointment was for 2pm so I got there a few minutes beforehand. I was checked in and asked to wait. I waited for 5, 10, 15, going on almost 20 minutes when a lady named, Martha (older,Hispanic lady with glassed) asked me if I needed something. I looked at her and said yes, I have an appt. On the app, it asks if you want a particular stylist, so I put anyone. She asked did you want anyone in particular and I said no. (why do they ask on the app who you want, if your not going to read it). So she ended up cutting my hair. Throughout the entire process, she did not say one, single word to me, not even small talk. It felt really uncomfortable. At one point, she literally pulled my hair and I gave her look like, "wow, you just pulled my hair." She then continued to finish the cut, then I went to pay and said "thank you" but not even a "come back, or have a good day." I thought of brining my family here, but after this experience, I decided to run far away from this place.!!! i wanted to put a 0 for a star but Yelp does not give you an option to. read more

i'm starting my review page, so here i go. first time going to this location was 1 week ago & it was very profesional. my hair dresser was Noemi & she is so sweet. i went in again today to get more layers in my hair & i made an appointment with her again. you can tell she knows exactly what she's doing. i have curly hair & i wanted curtain bangs but she was explaining to me what would work best for my hair type. she didn't let me down & i love my hair completely. read more

This review is for Lulu who cut my husbands hair yesterday. She did a fantastic job! We were usual clients at the Torrance location but since we moved to Downey we were in search of someone who did a decent job, for not too much. Lulu was very friendly and nice. She let me pitch in with suggestions on length every so often and made adjustments as we asked. Overall the cut turned out great! We are definitely going back to see Lulu in a few months! read more

GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE TRYING TO GET GOOD SERVICE HERE! Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time... And to top it off it's happened a few times (should've written this review a while ago, but have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt). Good luck trying to call ahead and get an accurate account of how long it will take. Sadly a few of the stylist do a great job of cutting mens hair but the device in trying to get to a chair is horrible!! Tonight I tried to walk in and was happy to see at least two stylist I am familiar with... Was told I could write my name down and it would be 45 min. So I go run errands and come back to have to wait again. *also one time a lady was either so incompetent or rude that she tried to give me a mo-hawk and when I tried to get her to fix it, she handed the machine and scissors to another stylist. They couldn't even really look me in the eye as I asked how long it would take. Hate to be impatient but this has happened before when I need to catch a flight out of town and this was the last straw... My kids hadn't eaten dinner and although I really needed a haircut, I can't stand when people can't be Curtiss enough to keep an "appointment". read more

These girls are amazing! Each & everyone of them. They are dedicated to their customers and service. Super helpful. They listen to the customers needs. I have to admit my first initial visit was rough but for some reason these girls are awesome and aren't the same. Totally personable. Yes the wait is long, but that's expected. Business manager is Very Passionate on how her customer service and business running smoothly

My mother went yesterday in the hopes of getting a retouch and they looked at her like she couldn't pay the service just because she showed up to this place not looking the best that she can and with my three little brothers they looked at her up and down with I'm guessing hopes she'd leave and not wait and made her wait for almost an hour. After waiting they told her they couldn't match her hair color? Didn't you guys go to school for this? How come they couldn't even try to match her color? This is discriminatory to a way I wouldn't think possible in a place so diverse like Downey. read more
