A perfect spot for coffee/tea and some light bites with great access to Mission Bay. Lots of seating and easy access to the area. The parking lot is plentiful but can fill up! The drinks and bites were pretty good, but the ambiance is what you're really here for!
I've been here twice and have had luck with it being not too crowded & quick service. And also friendly workers! The location is perfect here- beautiful views and ample space with shade. The only caveat is, the price of drinks and some food options are a little high(for what it's worth). If you like sweet coffee drinks, this place is for you. Both times I've been, I've had the turkey & provolone sandwich. The first time was great, second time was ok. I also got the spirit of aloha iced latte and for paying nearly $10 (without tip) it's definitely not worth it, I would not recommend their drinks. If the drink was outstanding, I could see it being $10, but it's not, unfortunately :/ they kindly remade it for me with it half sweet and even then it still wasn't good(very watery and cheap flavor) Overall: space 10/10 food &drink 5/10
Peak San Diego cafe. Superbloom has the most gorgeous location overlooking Mission Bay. They specialize in coffee with community style dining, but also offer bites and alcoholic sips. I was in such awe of this coffee shop that I visited twice in one weekend. I was able to try their coconut latte, the sandy beach latte, an apple muffin, and their breakfast bagel. While the views and vibes are high, their food/beverages could be tastier. I noticed that both lattes were light on espresso and heavy on sweetness. I was also surprised that their breakfast bagel was a bit spicy. Still highly worth a visit for the views alone! This spot is also dog friendly, has a plethora of seating, and free hour long parking for visitors.
To be very honest, the coffee (even though I'm not a coffee drinker) is only okay. I got the Spirit of Aloha which has macadamia nut flavoring but honestly it came out extremely sweet. In general I prefer my coffees on the sweeter end, but this didn't quite hit the spot. The ambiance here is unmatched though, it was a bright and sunny day, there are plenty of tables with umbrellas for shade, or even individual lawn chairs if you wanted to kick back and enjoy the view and fresh air. Superbloom is walking distance to Mission Bay and you're able to see people snorkeling, paddle boarding, jet skiing, etc. I've come here for a Yelp Elite event before and I remember the food being good, and the non-alcoholic aperol spritz from the airstream bar being delicious, so that might be the play instead of the coffee next time
Spring is in the air at Superbloom, with droves of people in line and at the covered, outdoor tables. The grape berries are forming on the vine, and staff are machines keeping food and drink going, and the line moving. DRINK 5/5 Fermensch hibiscus ginger: pretty purple hue of hibiscus, ginger-kissed, canned kombucha FOOD Charcuterie Board $25 Premium cheeses and cured meats paired with fresh, peak-season fruits and an assortment of artisanal crackers - I enjoyed the sweet honey and cheeses since carnivores immediately swooped in
Cute spot on Mission Bay with great vibes and good cocktails. We went on a Saturday afternoon and the line was quite long but it was easy to find a shady spot to sit once we'd ordered. We had the salmon app as a snack which was delicious, but options were otherwise pretty limited for gluten free choices. Overall cute spot but be prepared to wait a bit.
I have been coming to Superbloom at Mission Bay for a few years now. My book club meets here monthly on Saturdays. I'm sure many others meet here too. This place is always busy with a hefty line that somehow goes by fast. I really enjoy the menu selection, the music and the easy to access location. I hope to continue returning here for many more years to come.
Hi guys I don't recommend superbloom if your an actual coffee lover, overpriced bland coffee. Unfortunately we ordered the "love letter latte" which comes with salted caramel mocha and received a plain latte. When we asked if this was the correct order the barista said it's a seasonal drink, SO why is it on the "Current" menu and the cashier didn't mention it wasn't in season? To add to the disappointment, 3 small 12 oz drinks totaled to $30 dollars lol.
Coffee good though would have appreciated in a real mug. Breakfast was ok. Toast was nice and thick and well toasted. Bacon crispy-ish but very thin. View was good. Wish the tables and chairs were wiped down as it created a thin mud that got on my clothes and notebooks. Bathroom was semi clean but hot as a sauna. Service was ok. Ladies nice. They use pagers which unless you have headphones is a slight obnoxious noise going off the entire time.
I can't believe I 'live' at Superbloom and there is my review missing! I absolutely adore this place. For coffee, for working on my stuff, for drawing, as a meeting point with some friends before going for a walk at the bay, for relaxing, for doing nothing. For contemplating the grapes growing. This place is just fantastic, peaceful at the same time as animated. Coffee drinks are fantastic and I have had the opportunity to attend various events where food and alcohol were involved and always perfection. My favorite not so hidden escape.
Gorgeous views, excellent ambiance, but long lines. This is not a place for a quick cup of coffee on your way to work, this is where you come to sip slow, snack on the incredible Turkey cranberry sandwich, and meet up with friends. I've even seen people coming to "work from home" with their whole set up. Its a great place for moms to meet up, especially when their kiddos get too riled up for any of the many seating choices, there's a park to the right and a huge grassy area behind and to the left filled with shade and adventure. If you come at the right time, they also have a very cute separate set up for alcoholic drinks sold from a tiny converted air stream! Their food, besides the cranberry turkey sandwich previously mentioned, isn't special or spectacular. It's certainly not BAD by any means at all, but you aren't paying for spectacular food, you're paying for location. You're paying for the bay breeze and the feeling of taking a deep breath after a sip of coffee and saying "this is so nice!"
Pros: great view, plenty of seating, nice ambiance, great location to hang and walk around, family friendly, service was quick Cons: extremely overpriced food. Pre-made harvest grain salad with dry rubbery chicken was $30 and kombucha was $8. Would just get a coffee next time and skip the food.

We came here for a quick lunch. I like that they have seats facing the water, so you can soak up the sun and the views of Mission Bay. Brunch is served until 2:30pm, but they also in the evening. We shared a grilled cheese and a turkey provolone panini, but I also got a matcha latte. The sandwiches came with chips and were pretty tasty! There were a swarm of bees headed our way, so we packed up and left LOL. read more

Dear Gregory, we take feedback about our team seriously, but we're…
I discovered Superbloom via tiktok. I had high hopes and was very excited to put this as a key stop on my itinerary. Upon arrival there's tons of parking as it's essentially perched in the middle of a beach park. The building is adorable and there's even a place to rent bikes. The menu has some tasty sounding items so it can be hard to choose. Overall the vibes and views exceed the coffee itself, but I still recommend to folks visiting because it's so cute!! read more

Unfortunately the view is the only thing we liked here. Both of our drinks were watery and flavorless. The avocado toast was $15 and not at all worth the 30 minute wait. I don't think it helps that they have incompetent people working behind the counter who genuinely don't want to help you.... And thennnn to top it all off, my girlfriend overheard they have a rodent problem from the employees who thought no one could hear them gossiping behind the janky side area while waiting for our order Not worth the drive from North County for a bummer experience. read more

First time here and was so happy I found this place. I came here for a meet up with colleagues and had no idea this place existed. It's located by the bay and has its own parking lot. It's also a great place to stop by/park at if you want to take a nice walk by the bay. I came here Saturday at a 9am and there was already a semi long line, but it goes by fast! There's so much seating available too. I ordered the Sandy Beach, and a cheese danish. The Sandy Beach was very good! Tastes just like Starbucks! The cheese danish was good too, had some lemony flavor in it. They were able to heat it up for me too! I'm sure I'll be back soon. I really love the vibes here. This may also be a good place to study (I don't believe they have wifi though), if you want an outdoor place with great views. But just a great place overall. Drinks are a bit pricey than most places, but I think it's worth it. read more
San Diego, this is that hidden gem (outdoor) coffee shop you've been looking for. It's so much more than a coffee shop though. They serve wholesome food and have a separate cart for alcoholic drinks. The prices are reasonable, especially for the location and ambiance. Oh, and parking isn't a headache! It's pretty much a bay-front location with a ton of space with large tables and group seating, making it a nice place for meeting up. I always see people working on their laptops, and/or co-working groups. It's dog friendly, as well as family friendly. There's a playground just steps away, and facing the bay. The iced dirty/filthy chai is my go-to. I'll usually come here with the pup, and my boyfriend to play chess. Other times, my nephew joined and was able to do his arts and crafts on the big tables. Very versatile. Very calming and relaxing being this close to the water while enjoying a bite or sip with good company. With that said, be sure to bring a light jacket bc that bay breeze can get chilly! read more

This place is so cute and in such a great location. I got the spirit of aloha iced latte and a breakfast bagel, both were great! The line was a little long but almost no wait for the coffee and the food once we ordered. There was a ton of seating and a beautiful view. I would highly recommend this spot! read more
The café is located on Mission Bay just off the Clairemont Dr exit, right on the water with a beautiful view of the bay. It used to be the visitor center, and now it's a great spot to relax with plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the water. I ordered a large iced vanilla biscuit latte and a large iced vanilla latte, both made with breve. The drinks were good, though a bit on the pricey side. Their menu has a wide variety of options, including different lattes, matcha drinks, breakfast, and lunch items. It's also pet- and kid-friendly, which makes it a great place to meet friends or just come by yourself to enjoy the sunshine and the view. read more

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you for the feedback. We’re sorry the wait felt…
Love love love this cafe!! The ambience is beautiful, and I would spend hours here if I could. Not sure if there is an outlet, but I'd love to work here for the day. I ordered a latte with oat milk, and added lavender syrup. The baristas were super friendly. I stayed for a while, and ordered a wine later in the afternoon. Such a great place to spend your afternoon read more
I have had this spot saved on my places to try and check out and today I decided to come with my friend. It's super cute and I love the vibe. When we got there the line was really long but it goes by really fast. They had plenty of tables and chairs. The drinks were really good and so was the food. It was not heavy or salty at all. I loved how you could sit, hangout and talk with friends while looking at the water. The service was great! Really helpful and nice! I can't wait to come back and try more items of their menu! read more

Love the location, but that's about it. I ordered the ancient grains bowl and it didn't have all of the ingredients described in the menu. It was missing the roasted sweet potatoes. Also, I had not expected it to be a pre-made bowl. For a pre-made bowl, one positive note was the ingredients were fresh. My matcha latte was flavorless and tasted nothing like matcha and it was not remotely hot. It took them 25 minutes to make it and it was definitely not worth the wait (or the money)! My friend ordered the breakfast bagel and enjoyed it, but we were both very disappointed with our matcha lattes. The place was packed, I'm guessing it's because of the location being conveniently located at Mission Bay where there's a nice trail for walking/running/biking. There was also plenty of free parking. read more

3.5 stars. I will preface that Superbloom would have been a 5/5 except they have seem to have some issues accommodating different diets and requests, my friend specifically asked for no bacon on her bagel and there were multiple pieces on it. While I liked that vegan options were clearly marked on the menu, they seem mislabeled, as the deviled eggs were marked vegan but are very likely not. Aside from that, the location and vibes simply cannot be beat! While parking is tough and limited on the lot next to the cafe, a couple circles did the trick. There could not be a more perfect place to start a lazy Saturday and go for a walk around Mission Bay right after. The line to order was long but moved fast, and there was plenty of seating in and out of the shade. There was also a pretty long line for the bathroom, which was a spacious and clean single occupancy. Prices were reasonable. I really enjoyed my avocado toast and matcha, and it was not difficult to make these vegan friendly! Don't miss this spot if you are just visiting San Diego, it's peak SD vibes and you will feel like you're in heaven on Earth! read more
Outdoor eating by the beach, can't complain. There are plenty of umbrellas, so you can sit in the shade if you like. I ordered the overnight oats, plain bagel with cream cheese along with a mocha and hot cocoa. The food was good and the coffee was alright. I love a mocha with oat milk as much as the next guy, but this wasn't my cup of tea, or coffee. When you order drinks or pastries, you need to hang close by the counter because they will call your name. The prepared foods will utilize a buzzer. There is plenty of seating and the view is great. There is also plenty of parking, so it's pretty easy to access. I would definitely recommend coming here just to hang out by the bay. read more

I honestly don't understand how this restaurant has good reviews. It was NOT GOOD at all. The tables were all dirty and messy. The line to order was SO LONG! And the worst of all... the food. Incredibly overpriced, my friend paid $8 for a SAD small vegan taco, ONE SINGLE taco!!!!!!! I ordered the bagel, it was alright, but the ingredients were not fresh at all! 4 hours after eating I'm still burping the aioli they used in it. The service was okay, not rude but definitely not friendly. Honestly, don't spend your hard earned money on this establishment. read more

Back again... because you guys raised your prices AGAIN! This time... for your Tues Happy Hour. Superbloom- your Tues HH was a steal of a deal. A hidden gem. A glorious thing. Yet- you raised your prices from $7 margaritas (say what?!? AMAZING) to $10 & the plate of tacos used to be $12 (Are you kidding me?? AMAZING) to $16. Those prices are no longer HH prices but standard pricing... so we won't be coming back. As many, many reviews have stated, your prices are already outrageous... but you're saving grace used to be your Tues HH deals. It is no longer. You really should consider bringing those prices back... read more

Continues to be one of my favorite places to come with a friend for lunch! Parking is always easy and they always seem to have seasonal coffees! I got their seasonal peppermint drink and it was SO delicious. Their breakfast bagels have become my go as I have become obsessed with them due to their garlic aioli! Service is always great and there's always plenty of seating read more

A great spot to meet up with friends, bring your family when they're visiting San Diego, or enjoy Wednesday Trivia night by the water. The ambiance is everything here - from sunrise breakfast to a sunset drink by the fire. Service is fast and friendly. I was told WiFi is spotty, so probably not a place to bring your laptop for a work. read more
Came here straight from the airport to grab some coffee and see the views! Parking was super easy to find. There was a long line to order, which stayed constantly long the whole time so it's definitely a popular place! They have tons of tables and seating available but since we happened to come on a hot day, all the tables in the shade were taken for a while so we just had to wait to grab one. The cafe is surrounded by a lot of greenery though so it's a great place to just bring a picnic blanket and watch the jet ski riders. There is even a playground down the hill by the basketball court to keep the kids busy. It took about 10-15 minutes in line and another 10 minutes to get our drinks. The breakfast bagel took the longest for another 15 minutes. It was a good bagel but not worth the wait. Luckily we munched on the lemon cream biscuit while waiting. The sweet lemon cream was so delicious, like a creamy custard! The menu said a berry compote but it was actually just a few blueberries thrown in there, so that's the only thing I'd want improvement on. The coffee drinks were tasty though! Loved all the options for seasonal and specialty lattes. The Fluffernutter is described as peanut butter, banana and chocolate but the main flavor profile was peanut butter. It was a yummy drink but just wish it had more banana! The Island Bliss was a coconut chocolate flavor. I had to ask for whipped cream since it didn't have any and they seemed like they didn't know that's what it said on the menu. The whipped cream definitely made it taste better and creamier though! Overall we enjoyed our visit here, and would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting San Diego so you can take advantage of the nice views that you can't just get any other standard coffeehouse! read more

What a cute cafe with beautiful views of Mission Bay! They have plenty of lot parking and outdoor seating so it seems like a great place to hang out. We came around 1:45 pm on a Sunday and there was a short line to order but drinks came out fast. I ordered the iced vanilla biscuit latte and my sister got the iced cherry blossom matcha. I enjoyed my drink! It was perfectly sweet, smooth and strong, and you can taste the vanilla and it wasn't artificial tasting. Both drinks were pretty pricey but at least there's no extra charge for alternative milk. Service was friendly and quick. I would definitely come back for the drink and to try their food! read more

Cute little cafe right by Mission Bay and a convenient parking lot! Came on a Sunday afternoon and there was a short but quick line to order. Drinks also came out quickly. I got the cherry blossom matcha but unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the cherry flavor (and no extra cost for oat milk!). It was a bit pricey as well, almost $9 but understandable due to the location. I would try their regular matcha latte or their paninis next time! read more

Is it still hard to park?
No . You may not be able to park in the closest lot during busy times but you can always park in the next lot or on the street. It's easier now that tourist season is over
Are there plugs to plug in a laptop?
it's all outdoor patio seating. I haven't seen any places to plug in
Where do they get their pastries from?
I believe a local vegan bakery - they've had items I've seen at a couple other shops.
