Great and friendly service. Comfortable environment to do some work out of the office. The cold brew coffee had great flavor. I would definitely come back!

This branch of the Local Krave is well off the beaten path in the Pacific Beach/Bay Ho neighborhood. The location was on the ground floor of an apartment complex at the bend of a street running parallel to the I-5 Freeway. I only learned of its presence because a recent review showed up on my activity feed. Has this business really been in operation for four years at this spot per the feedback on another social media platform? The signage was minimal and limited to what was posted on the windows and doors which didn't make it easy to find the suite. All of the parking in the lot was reserved for tenants or the disabled. I parked curbside on Bunker Hill St where there were plenty of open spots. The seating was a mixture of a few high-top and regular tables. The ambiance felt like a hotel lobby as opposed to a cafe. I have never visited the sister location in Point Loma before, but I can't imagine its setup is similar to this one. For food, the menu featured croissant roll creations and sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches and burritos, breakfast bowls, and liege waffles. Coffee, tea, espresso, latte, and "Kraveman" drinks made up the bulk of the beverage offerings. The Southern Comfort was my to-go order which was breakfast sausage and a garlic butter fried egg topped with black pepper white country gravy. It could be served on a croissant roll (my pick) or flour tortilla. Within ten minutes, the breakfast sando was placed in a takeout container. The croissant roll was spiraly and soft while the white gravy was quite savory. Those were the good parts. The not so good aspect was the $11.99 price tag which was really pricey for a product that was smaller than the size of a fast food signature burger. The service from the cashier was pleasant and polite. I gave a three star rating for my visit to the Local Krave.

Tried the banana Vietnamese coffee, açaí bowl & the GOAT croissant. The croissant was the star of the show, it was so buttery, soft and the flavors all worked very well. Would definitely come back again to try other things on the menu. The staff was also very friendly, they brought out our coffee & food to us. There's some construction going on around there but not a big deal, they didn't bother us

Açaí bowl (very large bowl) and simple and sweet waffle added strawberries.

Hidden Gem. Clean, yummy and coffee was very good. Homemade waffles and croissants. Got an açaí bowl and daughter got the waffle. Very happy with our choices.

That white line is where the coffee ends:(

I always come to this location it's one of my favorite places to go, I love the food and the Vietnamese coffee. That said, the white line in the photo is how full the coffee came:/ that's just over half full the rest is whipped cream (which we asked for) but it shouldn't take away half the coffee. Love this place! Just wanted to mention it so I don't run into this again:(

Tried this place out before we headed home. Strange location, strange space for coffee shop. Iced coffee was ok. Wife got the banana kraveman, weird flavor to it. Would try somewhere else

this is the croissant roll they use for making sandwiches however I ordered it for breakfast

what a great coffee spot. When I visit San Diego I'd like to try all the coffee shops, especially those that are Mom and pop shops and not chains. I found parking to be super easy when I arrived around 7:30 AM. The coffee was fabulous dark enough to feel like it was robust and light enough not to be overwhelming. I ordered the zucchini bread and a croissant roll to go and both were fabulous. There was a kind woman working the register and a gentleman, and they shared how they make everything in house which I love the ambience is clean with tables and chairs to sit at.

pretty good! walking distance from my house and right off the freeway so we opted to stop in after our walk. we each got a sandwich, one country sausage and the other san diego. both delicious. i also got a matcha latte which i thought was great.

I drive farther from home to get coffee here because I love it so much! I always feel very taken care of by the staff. Our experience was enhanced by our barista Sara who was so nice and friendly! They bake the bread in house. I always get the turkey chipotle sandwhich and you can tell the ingredients are high quality and fresh! The Point Loma location has a cute patio area that adds to the vibe.

LITERALLY LOVE AT FIRST BITE

Had my best crossaint in America here the nutella strawberry croissant is delectable im glad I live an hour and half away from here or else I would spend all my savings

Pretty bad. It still looks like the apartment lobby, it's not finished. The coffee was really bad too.

Tastes better than it looks! Got the goat on their croissant bread oooooo it was so good!

Really delicious food but the portions are so tiny! So just a fair warning. Quite busy on a Friday…read morenight but we luckily made reservations and got seated maybe ~10 minutes after checking in. Food: - Flat iron steak: delicious and super tendy with a nice crust. Came with an arugula salad - Fish of the day: today was rock fish with a creamy panang/thai sauce and it was DELICIOUS - Duck: my table's favorite dish. You can make your own tiny tacos and the macha chili was seriously the best thing ever - French fries: nice horsestring fries, cant go wrong - Tuna crudo: super light and citrusy and flavorful, but only like 5-6 pieces - Chicken skewers: this honestly fell really flat. Would not recommend, i'd say it's the worst thing on the menu and surprisingly fell short. Doesnt feel like it belongs on the menu. - Brussel Sprouts: really good and unique with a peanut butter sauce - Mac and cheese: yummy but nothing special Overall was a great experience but I'd probably only come here on special occasions. Their drinks were also fantastic - the cantaloupe was super tasty. Shoutout Ola for being the best waiter!

The happy hour stand outs for me were the: - lamb meatballs $12 - this was the unanimous favorite amongst us, the flavors and juiciness of the meat was great ($4 per ball) - pork belly bao buns 3 for $16 - succulent and tender meat that basically melts in your mouth bc the fat in the best way, and the buns were super soft as well I enjoyed the flavor "crispy" brussel sprouts $10 but the texture was no where near crispy, they were cooked thoroughly but kinda mushy. The steak $25 was ordered as medium rare and was a bit too rare for our liking. But the fries were nice and crispy. The worst thing about the meal was the mac and cheese $8. We all tried it and agreed that it had issues with it being bland and having no depth of flavor, and the cornflake crumble tasted like old oil and stale cereal. Everyone's least favorite item of the night. ---- Notes: - we sat inside and there's not much air flow, it got pretty stuffy and hot during our meal - service was very attentive and charismatic, Dalton did a great job helping with allergy concerns - They were kind enough to split the bill in 3 but unfortunately charged me for an extra beer and I didn't notice it until after we had left - parking was okay, able to find paid street parking around the area ---- Overall: I reallyyyy wanted to like this place more, and I will probably give it another chance in the future bc I see such great potential. The food was just inconsistent btwn dishes with some being amazing and others subpar. If you want to try this place out definitely go on a Wednesday for their all-day happy hour bc their food at their regular prices wouldn't be worth it in my opinion.

We said we would wait for water but it never came around and they never checked up on it. I ordered the sampler that came with chilaquiles, beans, huevos rancheros, and corn tamal. When I ordered it, the server asked "and what would you like for your meat?" Her wording made it sound as if there was a protein that came with the chilaquiles. I was caught off guard at the end of the meal when I saw that there was a hefty (for the small portion) additional charge for the tough and flavorless carne asada. Maybe it wasn't intentional, but I think it would be better phrased as, "would you like to add protein?" for it to be less ambiguous. Nobody likes to be surprised with a higher bill than expected. I did not think the chilaquiles lived up its claim to be the best. It was pretty good, but the carne asada actually hindered it rather than helped it. Definitely get something else if you want to add protein to your dish. I was unhappy with the level of service, and the price didn't match the quality of the food. There are so many better spots in SD for Mexican food.

Thank goodness there was room too, because wow oh wow. It has been three weeks and we keep talking about that happy hour. LOL I appreciated that their happy hour menu wasn't all snackable appetizers; there were smaller-sized dishes for those less hungry, too! I ordered the Kiwilango slider + fries, my mom got the HH fish & chips, and my dad got the wagyu smash slider. Plus $10 beers, of course. Everything came out quickly and beautifully portioned, which made getting dessert (magpie ice cream cake) a no brainer. Delicious!!! I didn't stray into their full Kiwi-based dinner menu, but I can fully vouch for their happy hour, the cozy, charming vibes, kind and attentive servers, and flavorful dishes. Would absolutely recommend and will be coming back next time I'm in town!

Sausage rolls were an absolute must. My only gripe was that it seemed like it was a bit understaffed for brunch on a Friday morning. There was only one waitress that we could see. Also the prices are quite high with additional protein options varying by dish rather than a generic price. For example, to add a protein to "The Cure" dish, it was only $3 but to add it to the French toast, it was an additional $7. Made no sense. Also the mandatory 4% credit card fee at a restaurant felt a bit tacky considering how much you're already spending on the meal. Overall, I'd still probably come back again but with cash.
