I eat a lot of Thai food, and this is hands down one of the best Thai places I've ever been to. It really doesn't get much better than Super Sap's. I put this second only to the world famous Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas. The menu has your usual classics, and also a bunch of unique dishes that you don't see at other thai restaurants. The flavors are excellent, you can tell they use quality ingredients. We like to try something new every time we go. My favorite is the pork belly Penang curry. The Tom kha soup is next level, a step above what it usually is. As far as the ambience, it's a really nice, upscale feeling place! I went on my birthday, I like to dress up but you can also go casual and not feel out of place. There's a bar with cool, hip drinks and live music outside. Pricing is reasonable. I really enjoyed the pad see ewe with pork, short rib curry, and pineapple fried rice with chicken. Portions were huge and flavor was so yummy!! We got the mango sticky rice as dessert and it was absolutely HUGE and delightful, even had golden flakes on top. Worth the drive and the $$ in my opinion. The appetizers weren't what I expected though. I would skip those next time. The atmosphere is amazing. The service is incredible. And it's. Kid friendly! Very good Thai food, especially if you like heat and legit authentic Thai food. Make sure to let them know how spicy you like it and don't be scared to send it back and ask to make it more spicy because getting aligned on spice levels is one of the harder things in life between cultures. If you get the papaya salad order it with the pickled crab, don't try to eat the crab whole break it open and scrape the sugary crab meat out of its tiny shell and enjoy, take the crab claws and whatever else and pinch / squeeze the gooey meat into your mouth as you have some papaya salad. Massaman Curry is off the hook, and this is one of the only places in Austin I know where you can get raw shrimp. That's me I love raw shrimp, if that's not you don't touch the raw shrimp! Pretty much everything that I have on the menu is great, and the cocktails and drinks they have are also fantastic. The wait staff is friendly and helpful, but make sure you take an extra minute to communicate with them about what you want and what you like because there is often a language barrier that you'll have to overcome, even with the American bartenders. Overall I like the ambience and this place is definitely modern, clean and newer as it's recently built. There is a beautiful tree in a small "playground" outside, so although I'd say it could be okay for kids, I wouldn't say it is a restaurant that I would intentionally bring my kids to. I'm sure they do just fine, just not a kids place. Maybe leave your kids outside to play in the playground while you watch them from the balcony or something, that would probably be the best scenario. read more

I tried Super Sap's for the first time by getting it delivered. I ordered the C9 Panang Curry (spice 2, +1) with chicken and brown rice. Order arrived exactly how I placed it. I love their panang curry because it has green beans in it. Everywhere else that I've had panang has bell peppers only and no green beans. I chose this spot because it was close to a friend I was meeting up with for dinner. We chose to sit out on the patio on a nice December evening. The patio was simply gorgeous with the lighting. There were warming towers, which would make eating on the patio comfortable year round. I have only had Thai food a couple of times before, so it is still very "foreign" to me. My noodle dish was so much more than I could have expected. I chose spice level 2, and it was exactly right for me. The spice was there, but even more pronounced was the FLAVOR. Since my meal choice was mixed veggies (instead of a protein), I was pleased to have the experience of not missing the meat AT ALL! I found the serving to be large, and in fact, at home, I enjoyed two more meals from my leftovers, so the price was a good value. This place has been opened for a while but they are still disoriented. We had to chase down someone to help us and the food came 30 minutes apart. By the time one person was done eating the other still didn't get their food. The outdoor is dirty with pollen and not well maintained. They were out of a bunch of drinks that were listed on the menu. No cocktails were available either. Some of the dishes were decent and some were not memorable. The rumors were the couple that own Sap's Ver Fine Thai got a divorce and one member of the ex couple opened Super Sap's. Don't know which member kept the original and which member opened Super Sap. Not sure about the rumors were true either. Regardless, this Thai eatery was really good. We had tofu Pad Kee Mao, pork belly curry, shrimp red curry, and papaya salad. Every dish tasted perfect. Plenty of proteins in all the dishes. We especially loved the chicharron of the papaya salad, never had we seen such addition at any other Thai restaurants. Table service was attentive and super friendly. We will definitely return if in the area. read more

We were happy to find a new restaurant at this location and were keen to try it out right away. They had just opened 3 days prior. We like Thai food in general, but we cannot handle the traditional "spice" approach, so we always ask for "not spicy) ;-) We picked the Duck and the Pork Belly, which we both shared. The food was served hot (sadly, not a common thing in many restaurants), very well presented, and delicious. There were clear distinctions in taste between both dishes, and it was "zesty" enough for our palates. We were happy that the chef was able to accommodate our wishes. We're generally not big fans of open interiors and prefer more cozy niches and booths, but the overall quality of the food and the presentation will have us return for sure. We only had water and a Coke, so we cannot comment on anything the elaborate bar has to offer. Go and try the place yourselves if you like Asian, and especially Thai cuisine. I bet you can ask for the spicy version if you can handle it ;-) read more

Just okay. We had high hopes for Saps as we LOVE Madam Mam's on Anderson. Similar recipes, but not the same. I guess it's okay if you don't know Madam Mam's. We had the veggie dumplings, which had a weird taste, the Pad Prik (something or other) with chicken, which had about an ounce of minced chicken over a ton of rice, and lackluster flavor. And usually our favorite, Massuman Curry with the short rib, potato and online. The short ribs were primarily fat and the curry did not have the usual depth of delicious flavor. We were disappointed and won't order again, but maybe give it a try and see what you think. We think Thai Lada is better for Thai and in the cedar park area. read more

Good Thai food in a fun atmosphere! The Thai tea my daughter had was great, even though it had too much ice. For $6 you would expect for more liquid than ice. My husband had the red curry and said it tasted just like his mom's! So it is authentic! I had the tiger cry, cooked rare and it was delicious. My daughter had the crab fried rice and enjoyed it. This place has great service! We went in at around 530pm and our daughter had just woke up...on the wrong side of the bed...so she was not that pleasant. They went overboard and brought her a Shirley temple to lift her spirits, and were so very kind to us! We ordered the crab rangoons, which were filled with crab (not just cream filling) and so fresh! My husband got the tiger cried ribeye, which he loved and I got the flat noodles. Everything was great. There's a great playground out back for the kids too! First time trying the new restaurant and sadly we were disappointed. No yellow curry on the menu unfortunately. We tried the green and red curries and they had very unique flavors that weren't your typical Thai curry. The green curry had one tiny green bean and zero other veggies which the waitress took back to the kitchen to bring another one out that just had more Thai basil added into it and one slice of eggplant. The spicy level begins at 2, which was tolerable but too spicy for our daughter who usually loves curry. Also, they only have about a half cup of rice with each entree, which wasn't near enough and at $15 per dish there should have been more offered for free. The service was mediocre. The ambience was unpleasant as we were blasted with music multiple times while they were trying to figure out which techno cover song to play next. Overall, was hoping for a better first time experience. Hopefully they can get things ironed out soon for future patrons. We will be sticking to our favorite, Sip Saam. read more
