C5 Panang Pork Belly (Spc. 2)
Lyla A.

I will change my review is the next time is better. This is the ONLY Thai restaurant we ever want to eat at. It's the best around. We have eaten there no less than 12x and it's been great service and great food. We took out of town guests to eat (total of 6) and had a new server (we always have the same awesome server - I think his name is Carlos. This time it was someone different. He was polite and everything started out fine. When we ordered, we asked for some sauces for when our food came out (so they wouldn't have to make an extra trip to the kitchen). When our food came, there were no sauces and we also needed water so we requested both and he said sure. 20 minutes past still, no sauce, and we are now very thirsty so one of the people from our party goes inside to look for a server to help. Our server was inside and told our guest that he was very busy, which is why he hadn't come out with water or the sauce. By the time he came out (still no sauces but he had water). we were done with our meal and I asked for the check. The spicy food and lack of water made it un enjoyable for our guests. There was an automatic 20% gratuity added for a large party which makes me wonder if that's why they were completely inattentive to us because the tip was "guaranteed." This put a really bad taste in my mouth because the experience was nowhere close to what we are used to receiving at this restaurant and this time it was with guests. On another note, I ordered some thing that I never have before, but everything we've ever ordered at this place has been incredible so I was not afraid to try it. It was these tiny short pork ribs that were a heat level five. The portion was smaller than an appetizer and they were not tender nor had great flavor. I give this dish one star and would not recommend it. The food portions at Saps are large and we can never finish, and take to go for lunch the next day, so to see an entrée this tiny was very surprising. Overall, not a great experience this time

D1 Sweet Sticky Rice With Mango - Small Tray (1/3 of dish)

Cannot comment on the service or ambiance as we ordered delivery. We ordered the coconut shrimp, Brussels sprouts, pad see ewe, Penang curry and mango sticky rice again. The coconut shrimp and pad see ewe were my favorite. This time I ordered one pepper for the pad see ewe but didn't like the flavor of the spice. I'll continue to order it but add different roasted Thai chilis. The second time ordering the mango sticky rice, it was a bit too tart for my liking. The first one (in the photos) was the right amount of sweetness / ripeness.

P12 Panang Curry** F5 Pad Kee Mao***

We stopped here on a Sunday and they were pretty busy but seated us fairly quickly. The pad Kee Mao had a perfect balance of spice and sweetness. You could definitely taste the fresh basil. The noodles were also perfectly chewy and cooked right. The Panang curry was also really tasty and had the right amount of richness and heat. We got it with chicken and the whole dish paired really nicely with the rice. The service was attentive with a warm atmosphere, it is a great restaurant for either a casual meal or night out. Overall, a very satisfying experience if you are craving well executed Thai food!

Super Sap's is now Sap's Ver Fine Thai Cuisine and it's a downgrade :( We have visited Super Sap's basically monthly since we found them last year, have taken so many friends here, and have recommended them nonstop to thai food lovers. Unfortunately, we can no longer recommend this restaurant. We have visited twice since their rebrand/menu change. The new papaya salad is nothing special and we dearly miss the pickled crab that they used to add. My partner had gotten his usual Pad Woonsen but did not like the new version. Today he tried the fried rice which he also did not like. He believes the quality of their pork has gone down and both items were overall lacking flavor. The "NS1 Guay Teaw Nuer Sod And Meatballs" was actually really good the first time we came, but on today's visit, the broth lacked depth in flavor and there were no meatballs! I even got gaslit about them not including meatballs but it's... in the title and description of the item... We've given the new menu two chances and I hate to say it but we won't be coming back anymore. I hope management will be willing to take this feedback! We will miss you~

Pad Thai, P14 Vegetable Stir-fried

We went to Super Sap last night with our kids, but unfortunately, they seem to have changed their recipes. We ordered our usual -- Pad Thai and stir-fried vegetables. The Pad Thai was much too sweet and the noodles were overly chewy. The vegetables tasted okay, but they felt very basic and cheap compared to before, and the presentation used to look much nicer and more polished. Even my kids noticed the difference and no longer enjoyed the food. This used to be our favorite Thai place because their dishes stood out from the rest, but now it feels just like any other. Sadly, we probably won't come back unless they return to their old menu. Very disappointed.

F1 Pad Thai too sweet! But we did get the warning. Should have ordered the street F2

Their menu just changed and the usual Thai menu was gone. I enjoyed only the tom yum seafood soup and the crab fried rice. The staff were very nice and polite. Very nice aesthetic, very cold though. Outdoor area looked cozy at night.

Pad kee Mao was delicious! I ordered spice level 3 and I would definitely dial it down to a 2 next time but the dish was delicious and not soupy. The sauce stuck to the noodles in the right way. We also ordered the crispy rolls and the spicy edamame. The rolls were deep fried and filled with cabbage, carrots, bamboo shoots, glass noodles, and black mushrooms. I have to also say that the cocktail menu had some really interesting drinks.

Mai tai, it was nice and refreshing, but skimpy on alcohol for the price.

Service here sucks, and management to blame for it! Went for dinner, our host Hulio took too long to come and get our order, and he came with food and that's it, we never saw him again, not even once did he checked on us, we wanted straw, we went inside and got ourselves, we asked him for dried crushed chilies when he took our order and when he bought our order but still he dint bring it, so went inside again and got it ourselves, after dinner my son wanted mango sticky rice for dessert, we waited 15ish mins after dinner and he dint turn up, and no refills either, we were done by that time, my husband went inside and paid the bill, food quality and quantity has decided too, very less protein with rubbery texture and were done with this place, for weekday night place was more than 50% occupied and there were only two servers for both inside and patio, so I'm guessing greediness of owner/management to balm for sucky sucking services!!

Really nice interior, exterior was clean and breezy, nice live music. There is a playground right next to it so beware. Food was really yummy had the C1, green curry and family members had crab fried rice, pineapple fried rice, stir fry, all enjoyed them very much. It was Mother's Day so it was busy but still enjoyable.

The beautiful glasses from left to the newest at right side. Notice 2 bottles thanks to one on the house!

Love this restaurant/bar! It is rare that I find a restaurant where the vibe is on point, food is delicious, and the staff are full of enthusiasm for guests to be comfortable and happy!! My only recommendation would be they stay open later. They close at 10pm!! This is a long review so start with key notes & if you want details & photos keep reading.... **Notes** - Restaurant & Bar Vibe is electric & inspiring - Food is Fresh traditional Thai & Fusion! Lots of variety but not too much that they don't have specialties dishes. - Great Date Night; dim lighted areas for romantic conversation vibe or section with a dance floor disco ball, small stage for live music, and a bar. - Good for solo eating - Amble bar space & will sit singles at tables - Karaoke & Live Music on certain nights - all ages & types of music - Sports - TV & screen - Drinks - They have a full bar with many Sake varieties (sparkng, flavored, non-flavored, cold, hot, etc.) - Patio with fans, heat, lights...very beautiful at night - Ample parking (safe & lots of lights) **DETAILS** I was greeted swiftly & felt literally catered to the whole visit and they were jammed backed. Mind you, I had ordered online for takeaway & a drink while I waited because the vibe was so amazing. I ended up staying & leaving 2 hours later because it was so much fun! The first time I came during the soft opening week, the bartender had recommended a sake back then but I couldn't remember which one. The bartender not only remembered me, but also where I sat, & the Sake so I could order it again. Wow!!! Talk about attentive bartender that is always on their A game!!! They had these beautiful glasses that the Sparkling Sake was served in. I really appreciated that given it was an expensive (fully worth it) Sake. As I sat at the bar waiting on my takeaway, I admired the beautiful glass of Sake. Thank you to the manager/owner who saw me appreciating the beauty of the glass. He said, "If you like that glass, you should see the new ones." Then he came back a few moments later with another bottle of Sake on the house (attentive to what I had been drinking & didn't care of the cost but that I fully experienced the SAKE in THAT NEW glass). I posted photos of the whole experience including what I ordered. I put the menu name & number of the dishes in the PHOTO description. The dishes were fresh and beautiful presented; even for the "take away". The SPICES were SEEN and super FRESH. You don't need to nor should you alter ANYTHING. You do have the option for preferences on spice levels, do not includes, etc. I highly recommend stepping out of your comfort or control zone and take the dishes as the chef intended. You will NOT be dissapointed. Talk about turning a low key boring night into a karaoke, Sake, and disco ball night! So much fun!!! Thank you again to that gentleman for his generosity!

All the Thai chili and chili, they're not shy!

I've been meaning to try Super Saps for quite some time and finally did. We ordered the Chicken Satay, Pad Kra Pao, and Three Kings Chicken. Hats off to the Madam Mam and Saps empire; despite their split, at least we have two great sets of Thai restaurants now, and they don't skimp on the spice--they go up to 40 ! Here's what we got: **Chicken Satay ($12):** Generously portioned and moist, the chicken satay was a delight. The accompanying sauce, pickles, and toast rounded out the appetizer nicely. **Pad Kra Pao ($17):** Served with ground pork and a generous helping of Thai basil, this dish didn't hold back on the Thai peppers and came with two perfectly runny eggs. **Three Kings Chicken ($24):** This was our least favorite, mainly because I'm more accustomed to bone-in chicken. However, I appreciated the variety in the "Three Ways" presentation. The steamed chicken was a bit bland, though the scallion oil sauce helped. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, paired with a sweet and sour sauce. The grilled chicken was flavorful, reminiscent of teriyaki. The rice and side soup were very tasty. While $24 might seem steep, the portion size was substantial. Overall, all dishes were enjoyable. Service-wise. There was a couple of kitchen mishaps with not having fish (what I came for) but they gave us a free creme brulee to make up for it!

I've heard that Super Sap is owned by the former husband of the owner of Madam Mams in Austin. For those who grew up in Austin, Madam Mams was a beloved spot on Guadalupe, though I feel the quality has declined over the years. The recipes seem to have shifted to cater to the American palate, losing their authenticity. Since we now live in this area, we decided to give Super Sap a shot. The ambiance leaning towards a modern vibe with live music. They have a full bar and even a sushi menu, although we didn't try the sushi since we visited on Christmas Eve and opted for Thai food instead. We ordered Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao), a pork belly dish, spring rolls, and papaya salad. -When trying a new Thai restaurant, my go-to is always to start with the papaya salad to gauge the authenticity of the menu. A good papaya salad strikes a balance between fish sauce and palm sugar, and this one definitely hit the mark. -The noodles in the Pad Kee Mao were slightly overcooked. - The pork belly dish was fantastic and featured an authentic Thai sauce. -The spring rolls were not rolled tightly and fell apart easily but peanut sauce was delicious. The prices were a bit high, and the portions were on the smaller side. While I understand that rising economic costs play a role, there are other decent Thai restaurants in the area that offer larger portions at more affordable prices. I would definitely return for the papaya salad and pork belly, and I might try another noodle dish as well. The service was generally good, although it was a bit surprising that there weren't any Thai staff members working. It's not a big issue, but as someone who is part Thai, I found it challenging to communicate certain requests since they didn't fully understand what I was saying.

We used to come to Super Sap's often and were always happy with the experience, but unfortunately, our last visit was disappointing. We had a reservation for 7:00 PM and arrived at 7:07. A new hostess greeted us rather rudely -- she started scolding us for being "late," as if we were children, even though it was just a 7-minute delay. That created an unpleasant first impression. Then we had to wait over an hour for our food, which was surprising since the restaurant wasn't even that busy. The service used to be much better here. It's really unfortunate to see the quality decline like this. We hope this is just a temporary issue and the restaurant will return to the high standards we remember.

Good food. Meatball soup was a new one for me, but I liked it. Crab Rangoon were on the small side , but had real crab, so it's all good.

My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. It's definitely a neighborhood bar, but with a slightly elevated vibe that makes you feel like you stumbled into the nice version of a local hangout, not the sticky‑floor kind. I ordered three rounds of Hendrick's and tonic, and my partner went with four rounds of Tito's and Sprite. When the bill came out to $140, I had to take a quiet moment with myself. Yes, Hendrick's is top shelf, but even with that in mind... whew. That total felt a little ambitious for a neighborhood bar in Cedar Park. I'm all for a good cocktail, but I also know what these pours cost elsewhere, and this pricing didn't quite match the setting. That said, the service was excellent. Our bartender was attentive, quick, and had that perfect balance of friendly without being overly chatty. She kept an eye on the bar, and we never had to wait long for a refill -- which I appreciated, especially since the place wasn't packed. Honestly, the smooth service was the highlight of the night. The vibe itself is cool -- a little eclectic, a little upscale, and clearly a favorite for the local crowd. It's the kind of place you go when you want to unwind without dealing with the Domain crowd or the chaos of downtown Austin. I can absolutely see why people love it. But between the drink prices and the overall experience, this is one of those spots I'd visit occasionally, not regularly. A cute neighborhood bar? Yes. A $140‑for‑seven‑drinks bar? Not for me.
