Best boat noodle soup in town! There aren't a lot of local Thai restaurants who serve this specific dish. Having traveled to Thailand numerous times in the past, boat noodle soup is one of my absolute favorite Thai dishes. This is one spot that I have consistently returned for their boat noodle soup. I will say though, that I have noticed the quantity of their dishes have gone down a little over the years, which I imagine is to be expected given inflation these days. It's a Thai family-owned restaurant, and the dishes are in my opinion, authentic. Well, at least the boat noodle soup is. I have tried the typical fried noodle dishes here as well (think pad thai, pad see ew etc.) and they are all really delicious. It's one legit Thai restaurant I would highly recommend to friends and family to visit. I came here last week for lunch and saw that they have lunch specials during weekdays. Staff is attentive and accommodating. The interior of the restaurant is clean and inviting. They even had fresh roses at every table, which I thought was a really nice touch. They also have an outdoor patio if you would like to sit outside, overlooking the road. I can't imagine sitting outside now during this summer weather we are having but definitely for cooler months. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to Thai Lada. We arrived for lunch before opening time (listed as 11:45 am on the door) and were given a choice of seating. By the time we left, every indoor table was taken. While there, we noticed that many orders were takeouts. The restaurant isn't large inside, but there's plenty of outdoor seating. The atmosphere was bright and pleasant. Service was great, but we had at least 3 people who took orders, delivered food, or took care of the check. My biggest problem was that the entrées arrived minutes after the starters... way too soon... and the servers didn't know who got what. My daughter and I both had the lunch special, which is a great deal in my opinion. It cost $15 for a complete meal including a soup and crispy roll to start, then an entrée. The entrées were varied, and included choices of curries, noodles, stir fry dishes, or fried rice, each with a choice of protein (extra charge for seafood) and all with a choice of spice level. The soup was wonderful. It reminded me of when I traveled in Thailand on business years ago. Same for the sauce flavor of the stir fry I ordered. The crispy roll was excellent, and came with a sweet dipping sauce. My daughter ordered the curry with medium spice. She said the spice level was mainly in the sauce, and that hers was a great meal. It was our first time trying Thai Lada. I am pleased with the overall results reprieve. The food was pretty good and the server was nice. The reason for 4 stars are: - the soup that was supposed to be the appetizer came at the exact same time as the food so one of them got cold while we ate the other. - the wings were not tasty The curries, fried rice, pad se ew, and khao soi gai were tasty. I hadn't been in here probably 8 years at least and the pad Thai was as good as I remembered. It has a little spice to it which was what made me enjoy coming back when I worked nearby. So I'm glad I was back in the area. read more

The noodles were absolutely delicious and protein packed. They're def not shy about giving meat and toppings. I mean the crab Rangoon was prolly some of the best I've had in awhile. You can actually taste bits of crab in it (as it should be). read more

We literally ate at their patio baking in the sun cause there was no room inside, so the whole time we got to listen to rush hour traffic. We ordered the steamed dumplings and they came with a strange aïoli sauce on top that I really didn't like, it completely ruined the dish for me. Who wants mayonnaise sauce on their steamed dumplings. I like when people try new things and push the bounds of imagination, but this dish should have never left the kitchen. We found this place while exploring Google Maps and were drawn to the Thai food. As soon as we sat down, I had a strong feeling that I was in for an authentic meal when I noticed the restaurant playing Thai pop music. Monday was a great day to visit, as they offered a weekday lunch special: $14 for a spring roll, a soup, and an entrée. We both decided to go for the special after discovering that the soup of the day was Tom Yum! One of us chose tofu, and the other chose chicken. The vegetarian spring roll was crispy and paired really well with the semi-sweet sauce. The sourness of the Tom Yum soup was the perfect appetizer to kickstart our appetite. I want to mention the surprising amount of food packed into this seemingly small cup of soup: a big chunk of tomato, onions, mushroom chunks, and 4 pieces of tofu! I wasn't expecting such a hearty portion and was pleasantly surprised. The amount of soup in the cup was also more than enough. As we were finishing our appetizers, our entrées arrived. We ordered Chicken Pad See Ew with 2 chili (spicy) and Chicken Massaman Curry with 3 chili (medium spicy). The Chicken Pad See Ew was heavily flavored--maybe a little salty--but it smelled wonderful and absolutely delicious. The thick noodles were packed with flavor, making for a satisfying combination with the protein and vegetables. The curry sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste, but once again, the bowl was filled with food. The portion of chicken was generous, the potatoes were cut into large pieces and cooked just right, and I especially enjoyed the crunchy peanuts that added extra texture. The server was friendly and attentive, checking on us several times throughout the meal. I also appreciated the slice of lemon in the ice water. When I inquired about vegetarian options, I was told they offer vegetable stock-based sauces that can make the dishes vegetarian! We cleaned all our plates and bowls except for the curry. I'd definitely want to visit again and maybe try other à la carte dishes, appetizers, or desserts next time! read more

When my go-to spot for takeout was closed and we were looking for something nearby, we ended up picking up food from here instead. It was a rainy night, and I appreciated that there was dedicated to-go parking in the back, making it convenient to get in and out. I can't speak much about dining inside, but it looks quite intimate with a few tables, and I believe they also have an outdoor patio. In terms of food, we ordered a bit of everything and still had some leftovers for the next day. The green curry was very flavorful and I liked the addition of eggplants and bamboo shoots. The crab fried rice had flakes of crab you could see and the flavor was also good, if not a bit strong. This dish also comes with a side of spicy vinegar/fish sauce if you are looking for even more flavor. The Khao Soi Gai was another curry based dish and would strongly recommend mixing it all together if you get it to go. The Pad Kee Mao was also tasty with a good amount of noodles. We enjoyed most everything we had, but would caution ordering the choo chee salmon which didn't taste the freshest. The salmon also lacked flavor as it seemed the curry was just poured over it. All the proteins we ordered were also a bit overcooked but this could have been because it was sitting for over half an hour until it was consumed. The food was really goodI ordered papaya salad and mango sticky rice and both were delicious. However, the pickup experience made me uncomfortable. After placing my online order, I was contacted and asked why my address was different. I explained that I had just moved here as of Saturday and they mentioned issues with theft on larger orders, my order was only 22$ which I understood. I even offered to show my ID and card when I arrived. When I got there, I showed my card to verify, but the staff member took a photo of my card. This made me very uncomfortable, especially since other customers were picking up orders without any issue. I respect that they are trying to protect their business, but taking a photo of a customer's card without consent is not appropriate. It has become my new frequent Thai spot in this area. Review is for pickup via GrubHub with a 15 minute travel time. We ordered the Pad See-Ew and the Boat Noodles (Spicy 3). Pad See-Ew: 2/5. The portions were okay but there wasn't enough meat. Some kind of flavor in the noodles was overwhelming - I think it was either oily or buttery. I would recommend some spice to offset this flavor. We ordered with zero spice and I couldn't take more than a few bites. Drunken Boat Noodles (4/5). Not enough noodle at all for the dish and way too much basil in the package (I'd suggest adding maybe half the basil). The soup had overwhelmingly salty flavor with hints of spice and more complex flavors. The pork rinds went pretty well with it, actually. The spice was packaged separately and I couldn't tell if the soup was already spicy or if I had to add it all in to reach the desired spice level. Overall, it's an okay Thai establishment that is quite pricey for the portions. I hope to try the boat Noodles in person next time. read more

I ordered F1 House Fried Rice (GF) that listed "house soy sauce" in the ingredients. Since it stated "GF" I assumed that they used a special soy sauce that did not contain wheat. The food here was decent! The Green Curry with Tofu was amazing, the flavor was really good. However, the thickness of the curry could be a little thicker. The curry felt super thin and watery. For the Tofu House Fried Rice, the flavor was really good, it has an eggy flavor if you do get the eggs - which can taste great depending on preference. The miss here were the noodle dishes. Both the Pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mao was very dry and needed more sauce. There did not seem much flavor in these so it was a bit disappointing. I do recommend getting the Thai Tea as it hits the spot for good Thai Tea. We went here on a Thursday and it was a bit empty during dinner hours. I'm always looking for a new Thai place to try and we came upon this place in a cute complex area. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well as indoor area with full window walls. It was a cold day and we ordered a Tom Yum soup which I've never had before, but was delightfully sour and savory with vegetables and tofu. We also got basil fried rice and a Penang curry that were super flavorful and full of vegetables which I appreciate. The prices are reasonable and the flavors are rich, I also appreciate that, you can change spice levels according to what you like. It wasn't too busy around 2 PM, but I would keep in mind that they close the kitchen at 3 PM for lunch so we tried not to stay too long past that. Overall, really enjoyed the meal. read more

The yellow curry with 5 hot was soupy and sweet like dessert, the flavor was so sugary completely inedible. They removed their best soup from the menu "lemongrass soup" while the tom yum you could barely taste the tamarind. Chicken pineapple stir fry had so much broth it was like a curry not a stir fry! The tom kha soup and the dumplings were just okay. A total waste of money for a meal. Whoever is cooking there something needs to change. I found this place just by searching nearby the home. My bf and I used to drive out to georgetown for his favorite Thai place but they became very inconsistent. I found this place maybe a few months ago and we have been coming at least 2 times a month. We usually get their pad see ew and the garlic edamame and Thai tea. I usually order delivery from Thai Lara but and it's a solid delivery food. But the food just taste better when you dine in as most things are but this is especially exceptional. I've been to this place more than I can count and its hands down my favorite Thai place in all of the ATX and Round Rock area. The last time I came in was last week with my Sancho (lol) no but really, I came with my lunch bestie. We ordered some menu items to share. Tom Yum I love a good Tom Yum as it's a classic. The aromatic soup blends spice and freshness all together and it's healthy to boot. I had this menu item prepared extra spicy just the way I like it and it did not disappoint. Crab fried rice This jasmine rice dish had sweet bits of crab mixed in with Thai spices. It was a light yet filling dish. Salmon Just yes to all of it. The crispy salmon was cooked perfectly with fresh vegetables and onions in a well simmered and robust juice. Thai tea Who doesn't love this beverage? Well maybe if your lactose intolerant, perhaps you don't. But this tea tasted just like the type I ordered daily while in Thailand. This place was great! Simple and satisfactory Thai spot on Parmer. I tried this place because my Thai friend said they brought their mom and she approved we ordered khao soi and pad see ew and I was super impressed by how the food came out 5 minutes after ordering PIPING hot. Pad see ew was a little on the sweet side and maybe could have used some more char, but I liked the flavors and the level of spice (spice level 2) both dishes came with. " This place is Legit!!" - my thai father-in-law. I've come to Thai Lada several times and each time the food has been excellent. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. I've had the food via take out and dine in. It taste way better dine in. There aren't many staff members and seats, so you might need to wait a bit for a table. I've ordered a ton of different dishes here and they have all been good. So my recommendation is to speak to your server and figuring out if you wanted a sweet, savory, soup, or spicy dish. I haven't come across a bitter dish here but I wouldn't doubt they have something like that on the menu In terms of sweet andsavory noodle dishes you can go with classics like Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Prik Pao, and Pad See Ew I am a fan of the northern thai curry dish Khao Soi. The dish here comes with Chicken and so it is called Khao Soi Gai. Gai being thai for chicken. Boat noodles and Crab fried rice are also fan favorites. If you are looking so a slightly sour soup, you can try the Tom Yum Soup Larb Salad is a spicy meat salad that is also good. Even at the spiciest request, the food is probably a 6/10 on the spiciness scale. I would at least go medium spicy since the aromatics will add to the flavors of the dish. If you really like spicy food, you can go thai spicy and I doubt you'd break a sweat. Overall, I am a big fan of this place. The food is serviced fast and fresh. Prices are reasonable. read more

This is a nice little resturant with outdoor seating. Thai Lada delivers too using several delivery services. I stopped by last night to get some fried rice and fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce. I was met with a cheerful hello and I'm sure smile but with the masks...well the eyes sparkled at least. The server took my order and said it would be about 20 minutes. So needing more steps to get my 10 thousand I decided tio walk down main Street for a couple blocks and when I returned my food was ready. I When I got home i opened my order and put it on a plate at my home. The fried riceI I ordered was basil with chicken. I added a little spice using red pepper flakes. The rice was delicious. The fresh spring rolls were really fresh. The lettuce inside was green and crisp and I put the peanut sauce over it, so tasty. I wasn't able to eat everything so lunch today!
