The price for their desserts is definitely on the higher end but quality is good and portions are not big but acceptable. They are a small shop where they share half of first floor store with the hotpot restaurant that is two stories tall. Makkee Dessert has one kiosk outside of their shop right at the entrance where you order. Most of their seating is outdoors but there are also 3 small tables inside the store to dine in. There is a monitor where you can track when your order is ready for pickup. The two desserts we ate at the shop were the Taro Black Sticky Rice Mochi Fresh Milk ($11.99) and the Taro Paste Snow Black Sticky Rice ($11.99). Both were delicious! For to go desserts, we got two of the Makkee Deluxe (Warm) ($11.99 each) and was told it was also delicious. Food was nicely packaged. We got the BOGO peach gum milk tea and BOGO mango snow black sticky rice. The milk tea was watered down but had a strong jasmine tea flavor. The dessert was surprisingly really good. Mangoes were sweet and it came with a side of vanilla ice cream and black sticky rice on top of the shaved ice. Everything paired well together and was refreshing. It's a bit pricey but I would consider coming back to get the dessert again.

It may be for sentimental reasons, but I truly think the gelato here is unmatched by any other ice cream place I've visited. I love the soft and slightly stretchy texture of the gelato. It's definitely softer than other ice cream I've tried, but I honestly prefer this type of elasticity. The flavors are very classic: I love the strawberry fresca, lychee, and stracciatella flavors. After leaving, I tried my drink (which I should had before I left) and it was definitely coffee and it was super strong (I do not like or drink coffee at all). You can tell the bread is made with care, and for me, great banh mi always starts with great bread. The fillings were just as enjoyable. While I thought the protein could have used a touch more seasoning, it didn't take away from the overall quality or experience. This is the flavor profile I still expect from a cold cut sandwich. There was a healthy slathering of pate with just the right amount of pickled vegetables to bring in that brightness to balance it out. I bought a large sandwich with the intention to bring the other half home, but that was a total failure. Both the hubby and I ended up eating our entire sandwiches there!
