I heard great things about this new local Mexican restaurant. We decided to check them out…read more We arrived on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch recently. Pre-Hispanic Mexican Cuisine is located in a nice area in downtown Morgan Hill. Parking is accessible along the streets, nearby parking garage and multiple parking lots. The former Mexican restaurant Chacho's use to occupy this space for a few years. The restaurant has simple sleek modern decor. There are plenty of tables inside for dining with a lively full bar present. The outdoor patio looks inviting and cozy. There is a bar in the middle with surrounding bar stools and plenty of patio dining tables as well. We ordered a spicy jalapeño margarita, mango margarita, the chicharron dumplings, queso fundido with chorizo, bread, and chips from the daily happy hour menu and 2 octopus and chorizo tacos and 1 fried shrimp taco from the regular menu. Everything was authentic and delicious. The chicharron dumplings were my favorite dish. It was both flavorful and sweet. The octopus and chorizo taco were unique and scrumptious. The texture of the octopus and crumbles of the chorizo was such a delightful combo. The fried shrimp in the taco was crispy and delectable. Our margaritas were refreshing and hit the spot. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Pre-Hispanic Mexican Cuisine. This restaurant definitely stands out among the many local Mexican restaurants in the area due to their unique flavors and authentic boldness of their dishes. The staff was accommodating. The daily happy hour was a great value. We will be back to try more dishes and drinks.

Pupusa Lady - Pupusas

I asked if they could make a fresh one without beans, but they couldn't. I tried them anyway -- they were okay, but nothing special. I don't like "fusion" food; pupusas are delicious just the way they are. For the price and what you get, I don't think they're worth it. For price and flavor, I'd give them a 4/10. If you know pupusas, you know what I mean -- the meat was shredded, not the typical mix. Hopefully Bay FC steps up their pupusa game. Response to pupusa lady Thanks for letting me know. Just to clarify, I meant pre-mix, not pre-made. I was mainly disappointed about the fact that they couldn't make one without beans since everything was already mixed. Bay FC really shouldn't be charging you a fee just for working the game either -- that doesn't seem right. Then passing the higher price to the consumer.I do stand on my 4/10 rating for flavor.

Quality! My first…read moreexposure to the Pupusa Lady's food was 2 or 3 years ago at a function in Morgan Hill. The pupusa's were unusual than any item of food of its similar kind but they were approximately 3 to 4 inches in diameter and with no frills/no extras. Then last night at the Day on the Ridge event in Eagle Ridge, the Papusa Lady's food truck was present and the experience far surpassed my first one. The pupusa was approximately 5 to 6 inches in diameter and was accompanied by a small container of sour cream (enough to smear on the entire pupusa), hot sauce, an amazingly tasting of some type of flavored rice with cilantro, and a delicious (and also unique tasting) coleslaw - all for only $10!! Excellent experience which I'm very thankful for. Kudos to the Pupusa Lady's food truck last night.

The service was fast and we got so much positive feedback about the dishes served. I especially appreciate the attention to detail that they have for their vegan dishes. Given the short…read moretimeframe and large order size, they delivered everything quickly while serving great quality food. The service was fast, organized and the food was consistently great. If you're looking for a catering food truck for a small lunch window that delivers high quality and very quick service, I HIGHLY recommend Fire and Rice. Their Hawaiian Asian fusion menu is unique and stands out compared to other Asian or poke trucks I've tried. The garlic shoyu chicken and tuna poke were my personal favorites. I tried some of my coworkers garlic shrimp & Miso tofu too...surprisingly pretty GOOD! With inflation being what it is, their food is absolutely worth the price, and they were also flexible and willing to work within our reasonable budget. I can't recommend them enough. For catering inquiries, It was a little difficult getting them on the phone so we played phone tag a lot. I suggest texting or emailing Micah or Jessica for the quickest response, as they're often busy on the truck or during service.
