I was surprised that there was a taco truck sort of in the middle of nowhere. I was on my way to San Martin and needed a quick food, saw this place and made a pit stop. Cash only! Ordered a carne asada burrito for ease. It came with rice, beans and pico. Took mine without beans. The burrito was delicious. The carne asada meat had flavor too. I wished they gave me hot sauce with the burrito and I forgot to ask. They did provide like a little pouch of a pepper, onions and radish. Quick stop for a quick lunch if you're in the area!

Delish. I pulled in at 4:45 on a weekday and the parking lot was nearly empty. At 5, it was like locusts descending. Not an empty spot to be found. Got my burrito quick, almost no wait. I'd come here again. Fairly cheap, fast (at the time I went), tasty, picnic tables available, parking's easy to get in and out of with my extended length cargo van...checks all my boxes.

2 de suadero 2 de cabeza

I ‍ their TACOS‼ I always get 2 de suadero and 2 de cabeza with everything.!!! They come fully prepared as you see them on my plate, with a little side of cebollitas, a chilito toreado, rábanos and limón! I usually call ahead and they are ready within 10-15 minutes. They have a picnic table and a portable bathroom with water and soap so if you have to eat there, you can. Give them a try!!!

2 chicken and 2 asada ...soooo good

YUP, definitely a fan!! It was taco Tuesday, and trying Tacos El Abuelo for the first time was a must. Pretty much a hidden gem right off the highway. I had tacos with asada and chicken, the meat flavor was AMAZING and the salsa that comes on top was not too spicy, just perfect amount of kick. They have two tables in the area in case you decide to eat there, you can also call ahead for pick up which I thought was pretty convenient. Also, FYI, CASH ONLY!! besides that, everything was perfect for a quick stop at a taco truck, I will for sure be going back to try something else.

I really, really enjoyed hopping off the freeway to find this food truck just two minutes off highway 101 outside of Gilroy. I had the best ($11 carne asada) burrito of my life! The meat was great, the beans soft and creamy - home cooked. The burrito had small sides of fresh lemon, radishes, and grilled onions and a half hot green pepper. Be aware that the food truck parks on a (dusty) gravel lot next to an agricultural field (corn coming up when I was there). Lots of local people pull up, delivery truck drivers, etc. As mentioned by others, there are two dusty and partially shaded picnic tables if you need to get out of your car...which I highly recommend, so you can soak up this special bit of Mexican California culture.

Unfortunately, yesterday was the last time I will be eating here. I got violent food poisoning from a burrito I ate around noon.

I respect him bc you can tell he really is working hard and he is supporting his family business all the way. I ordered the carne asada quesadilla for only $4. Very impressive price for an event!! Usually at events, food vendors hike up prices so this was really a plus to me. Carne asada quesadilla Looked very home made. It was a good size. This taco truck did not skip out on any ingredients. The carne asada tasted a tad buttery. Al though the mozzarella cheese was not melted all the way through, the quesadilla itself was tasty. The tortilla had small dark toasty spots, which I am not complaining about I really enjoy the crunchy bits. Although I won't be going to this taco truck again bc I'm from SF, I really liked the service I got here and the value of the quesadilla.

Lots of large trucks and some hauling trailers so it was a bit tight. They have two picnic tables that were pretty clean. Two trash cans but no recycling unfortunately. Also, they have a porta potty nearby and hand sanitizer next to the order window. When placing my order I asked if the salsa was spicy. The lady who helped me actually offered to put it on the side when I asked to which I agreed. When I got my order one asada and one steak with everything but salsa on the side and a plain quesadilla I noticed it was wrong. I'm unsure how you mess up a quesadilla but they did. The un melted cheese just made it unpleasant. I even squeezed limón on it and ate it with the rábanos for flavor. I went back to the window and the lady was gone so a man helped me. He was upset that I told him that I had ordered the salsa on the side as I showed him the tacos which were untouched. He gave me a dirty look or maybe that was just his face and he said that's guacamole. I said that's fine. I don't mind the guacamole but isn't that salsa underneath. He told me he can replace them. He took the plate and looked at it again and then he told me again that he'd replace them so I agreed. Why would I not agree if that's what I had ordered. It seems like he decided to punish me by giving me plain tacos with absolutely no guacamole, which I didn't realize was salsa - because it's not. I even tipped them which now I wish I hadn't as I used Zelle. Don't be upset at me when you make an order incorrectly or it wasn't communicated correctly. That's not on me. I will never come back to this place. The way I had to eat the tacos was unappetizing. I do not recommend the average-tasting taco. I will say the chicken taco came with large pieces of chicken which were marinated and alright. The carne asada didn't have much flavor.
