Came in here earlier today with my grandpa excited to check this place out. He was a little confused about the combinations so he asked the bartender for help. Don't really remember her name she was pretty tall and had reddish hair. She was honestly pretty rude and impatient. I get it could be frustrating but I mean he's old so I just felt like there was no need for all that. Went in to have to a breakfast with my fiancé this sunday. I believe he is a manager he passed by us and I had told him good morning sir. He looked at me and just made some sort of ugly face and walked away. I then asked my server gaby what his name was she had told me his name was vince and was one of the managers. I feel that was very unprofessional being that you're working in the food industry, and service is always needed to be at its best. After that it made me and my wife feel very unwelcomed !! Maybe after this review he will change his mood or facial expression towards guest. I came here early on Sunday to have brunch and the food was okay. I got the chilaquiles verdes, only thing is I did wish they had a spicier salsa, but overall it was good. Been going to super Mex since I was in 12th grade about 40 years ago. Always been my fav Mexican restaurant but since we live closer to el tepeyac we go there most of the time but wanted to try this new super Mex location in Whittier. While the place is very nice and staff was great and food still was very good the portions got very small. Looks like the tortilla they use on enchiladas are the tiny ones and my cheese inside was so little and flat but my taco seemed pretty meaty. My suggestion is maybe give more rice and beans cause I was still hungry after eating a 3 item combo and a bunch of chips. First, we came in for lunch on Sat and things started off bad when the hostess walked us all the way in the back bar area and sat us in the very back corner of the bar, when there were plenty of open tables in the front of the restaurant. We ordered the chicken enchiladas plate and the Chilaquiles plate. When the food came I thought it was a joke. The plates were small and the food portion seemed small even for a child and we did not have any kids with is. The chicken was mushy and tasted bad. It was drenched in some kind of marinade with no flavor. And the Chilaquiles were also bland. I wanted a refill on my Iced Tea, however the waitress who took our order never cane back to the table. We tried for 10 minutes to flag someone down to help, but nobody ever came by. My girl finally got up and went over to the drink employee station where there were 4 waitresses- busboys standing around and she asked one if he could get us another glass of ice tea and he said no because he was too busy. We finally stopped another waitress walking by and we asked for the manager. The manager came by and asked how she could help. I said I saw you talking to the waitress we spoke to about the iced tea refill and you came over without the iced tea. The manager had absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. The food was not good, the service was terrible, and the lady manager was even worse. We will not be back. read more

My first time coming here. Let's start with we were sitting at the bar, looked like no one knew what they were doing. It took approximately 19 minutes to get noticed by 1 of the 4 bartenders that night, took another 11 minutes to get water and menus. They ran out of Modelos and had to wait for them to go buy some but then they found some in their refrigerator lol. Food came out 24 minutes later. The food had no flavor very bland but what I was surprised on was the size of the dinner honestly this is the smallest Fajitas platter I've had for the price. Small shrimp and small portion on the meats. When other restaurants give you jumbo shrimps , good meat and vegetables portions, It really makes you appreciate the other competitive restaurants that you're used to. Usually new restaurants are on point but unfortunately for my own liking this one fell short. The other thing was I was expecting a full traditional Mexican restaurant by the name and atmosphere however it is very Americanized and the DJ was playing hip hop which is fine but I was expecting Mexican music not anything else but all they played was hip hop during my visit. Do better super mex or at least get your restaurant to be super mex. Would I come here again ? Probably not read more

Came for lunch on opening day. Was very impressed with how beautiful the restaurant was. The design and decor was done very well. Ordered the shredded beef tacos with rice and beans and they were DELICIOUS! Chips and salsa were so good (as usual) and the mocktail I got was so delicious and refreshing. Can't wait to go back. Where do I start.. I understand that the restaurant just opened but come on!! We were a party of 5, they sat us right away. After ordering our drinks it went downhill fast. We were sitting already for about 20 minutes no chips, no salad, no utensil and our waitress not around to take our order. Another 10 minutes and I had to ask a man in a suit cost to bring us chips and salsa. The waitress finally came and took our order. It took 1 hr to get our food plus we were not served all at the same time. Poor waitress kept coming out one plate at a time. I kept seeing these men in suit coats just walking around NOT DOING A DAM THING, why don't they help the waitresses!!!!! The food was pathetic! No cheese in the enchiladas, no potatoe in the tacos, the food was cold even when the plates were hot! The tacos were so small the tortilla wasn't even cooked through. Just a bad experience, we said if the food is good we'll come back but that was such a disappointment. Never again, nice decor but that's it too bad! Just lost customers. I was I have taken pics but by the time the food came out we were hungry and also had to go back to work.
