I had an amazing experience at Super Cleaners - they went Above & Beyond and I'm so grateful. When I went there, the staff member was kind and helpful - she found that my number was already in the system from an alteration years ago when they were in another location a few doors down, and helped change my information to my married name. Here's where the Above & Beyond comes in. I dropped 8 of my husband's shirts on Tuesday for a Friday pick-up by 5:00pm. He was flying out Saturday at 5:00am for his company's big 6-day annual conference - his most important work trip of the year. WELL, Friday comes around, and we got snow, meaning many businesses in the area were closed... including Super Cleaners. *Enter utter panic*. I texted the Super Cleaners number, asking if there's any way we could collect the shirts and explain the situation - thinking it's more than a long shot. To my surprise, the owner responds not to worry - he'll make it happen. *Enter a flood of relief.* He had to drive to the plant to get half the order, and to the store to get the other half, AND dropped it all off AT our house - we didn't even have to drive to the store. I can't explain how grateful we were. And, the shirts looked perfect! As working parents, life is extremely busy, but of course we learned our lesson to give ourselves more wiggle room in the future! One of the many dry cleaners in Bethesda closed over the summer. I was looking for a new dry cleaner and our neighbors highly recommended Super Cleaners. I sent an article of clothing to be dry cleaned and unfortunately the item shrunk. The entire team became involved and was incredibly professional and supportive. Jamie went out of his way to call me and personally meet me at the store. When I arrived at the store Jamie had purchased the same sweater for me, as the original one couldn't be stretched back to its size. The Seamstress Filaminia is here too (thank goodness!) who provides detailed & expeditiously alterations at an inexpensive cost. I almost didn't know the acquisition took place, had I not called Galaxie after leaving the closed up location & someone answered to provide me with the update. As a new customer I filled out a contact card & later that day I received an email notification stating my order was in process. Two days later I received another email notification letting me know that my order was ready for pick up. Kudos on the innovation of technology to provide a quick & easy dry cleaning experience. I used them for Wash and Fold. My order was placed on a Thursday and was supposed to be ready for pick up after 5pm on Friday. I couldn't make it there until Monday and my order still wasn't ready. It was washed, but sitting in a big heap. They hadn't folded anything. So, I waited for them to fold my items so I wouldn't have to make another trip. The folding was haphazard and all of my clothes ended up wrinkly - maybe from the quick folding or maybe because the clothes were cleanded and then sitting in a pile for a weekend. Their rates are high for wash and fold - $2.50 per pound and many other services are $1.75 per pound for the same service. I spent the extra because their Bethesda location is very convenient but at least the other places are always on time. This place is gone completely downhill. We've used them for years for drop off and pick up. The woman at the front is unbelievably rude and unhelpful. They now tell me they cannot do rush jobs ever even if we drop it off and want to pick up the same day. They give you back your clothes in a completely haphazard manner, men's pants in with ladies suit jackets, nothing organized by gender or type of clothes. Expensive. And Just poor service. read more

I am new to the area so I called to get a price, I was told to come in because they were offering a discount for new customers with five items or more. I went in dropped off my items, confirmed the 'special' and when I went in to pick up my items I was told "it's only if you sign up for delivery" & was charged $32 for 5 items. I am normally not this negative about any business, but I cannot honestly say much that is positive about my brief 1 time experience here. Not only are they comparatively expensive to the other cleaners in the area, but their poor customer service and accusations were distasteful. I brought in 2 suits for dry-cleaning. I thoroughly went over my suits to look for stains on both and saw nothing that indicated anything out of the norm aside from pet hair and wrinkles. However, I got a call within a few days later informing me of sizable tear in the elbow of the suit. Granted there is a slight chance it was there before, the way it was handled was abrasive and uncomfortable. I would never go back there unless I was extremely desperate due to their costs, customer service and experience with a ripped suit. They also lied to me and said they didn't work on dry cleaning the jacket with the tear when it was clearly visible they had upon picking it up. I had an extremely negative experience with Super Cleaners on January 8. I dropped off several sweaters and three pairs of pants earlier in the week to be cleaned. When I picked up the order today, the sweaters looked fine but the pants had shrunken considerably, at least two sizes. These were pants that I had worn within the last few weeks and fit perfectly prior to the cleaning. These pants were all purchased within the last year. I called the store to inform them about what had occurred and the woman who I spoke with (who said she was the manager) told me to bring pants back to the store. I brought them back and after looking at them for a few seconds she said that there was nothing that could be done and that she would not reimburse me for the cost of my three pairs of ruined pants. She said she couldn't even provide me with a refund for the order, which was significantly less than I paid for the pants originally. I originally went to super cleaners because of positive reviews that were posted on my neighborhood listerv, so I was shocked by the poor quality of the cleaning and the lack of concern over my ruined clothes. read more

I was recommended to go to Super Cleaners to see Mr. Lee for alterations. Among the things he altered was the sleeves of a cashmere sweater I had just purchased from J McLaughlin. I thought it was odd when he only put a safety pin on it - he didn't mark it. When I picked it up and put it on, the sleeves were two full inches shorter than my wrist, making the sweater look ridiculous. At first I went back and just told him maybe he could sew a ruffle or something to cover it up. He told me to look for fabric and he could do that. After trying in vain and realizing that would look stupid, I went back again, and just asked for my money back. - $30 - plus another $30 for my trouble and as a courtesy, giving that he ruined a $198 sweater. I did not ask him to pay for it. The women who said she was manager told me no, she wouldn't do that, and got rude with me. Then told me I should email the manager, as if I should spend my time fixing the problem they caused. Mr. Lee finally had to take just $30 out of his pocket and the woman who said she was the manager gave me a card and told me to email the owner even though it's a generic email address. Mr Lee seems to have done fine with the other garments I brought, but the fact that they are not accountable for their work and the cost and makes the customer go on defensive is unacceptable. I cannot be more thankful to Super Cleaners team and particular to the owner. Today, March 21, due to the weather, every company was closed, since it was very difficult for everyone to drive to work. The pick up and delivery service is really terrific, and especially useful because parking in front of the store is limited. Took a pair of pants to get an ink stain out. Took it there within an hour of the pen exploding in my pocket. Went to pick up the pants and asked the cashier if they got the stain out. He said they had. I made the mistake of not checking while I was there, but when i got home, the stain was not even a little bit removed. I've been coming to Super Cleaners in Bethesda since 1998. They are very reliable. If there's a problem they work to fix it. I see the negative reviews here based on one bad incident. Get real - cleaners make mistakes. All of them. And customers tend to blame the cleaners for things the cleaner can't control (I do that too . . . ). But over the years, many years, these guys have been consistently reliable. I'd give five stars, but I save that for the "above and beyond awesome" category. They haves space for a tailor who does alterations. The person has changed over the years. My experience there has been mixed. Stopped in to ask the price of shortening the legs about an inch in a pair of jeans. Woman behind counter told me to talk to the guy who was sweeping. He told me I had to bring them in for the seamstress to see. I was surprised -- three other shops quoted me a price immediately. When I asked if I could just simply ask the seamstress for the price while I was there, the guy became quite irritated and told me I had to bring them in. These jeans are for my mother, and if the shop owner is this curt with me, I don't want to see how they'd treat an 85-yr old woman who's slow and hard of hearing. read more

I'm very sad to write this review. The folks who work here are very nice, but I had a devastating experience with my drape. I dropped it off for dry cleaning because of a water mark, when I picked the drape back up, it had a new stain and had shrunk considerably. Now my drape is several inches shorter than it's corresponding match. While they were able to take care of the original stain, I'm certain that this would not have happened if there hadn't been some kind of heat treatment inappropriately applied to my drape. I cannot even buy a replacement because the seller no longer carries this size. The cleaners were kind enough to refund the cost of the cleaning, but the hassle and loss of money this has cost me cannot be undone. I'll have to buy a new set of curtains and also find a new dry cleaner. read more

Despite not really loving how my clothes have come back, I was lenient over the last few months, again, based on all the positive feedback. But now, I have had two items of clothing destroyed, and I will no longer be going back. First, a white silk blouse that they turned yellow. And now second, a grey wool sweater blazer, that they completely shrunk beyond my ability to wear it. This has been a favorite item of mine for the last 3 years, and I am beyond upset that it is ruined. I will not be returning and am now on the hunt for a skilled cleaners I can trust. read more

This is the worst "Cleaners" I can think of. The ruined a very elegant and expensive evening gown. I explicitly asked them several times not to attach tags with needles to the silk but to the label. They didn't care. I got it back with two holes, one right at the decollete (low neck). How stupid and unprofessional does somebody have to be in order to attach needles to silk and damage the fabric? Stay away from "NOT Super Cleaners" in Bethesda unless you want to pay them to ruin your clothes. They don't care about customers. read more
