Jung Kim, the tailor at this location, does an impeccable job of altering my clothes. She takes accurate measurements, offers great style advice, and honest feedback. This place was hard as hell to find. It took me at least 20 minutes driving around a 5-6 block radius (thanks to the area's no left turn/no U turn signs) before I actually found this place. It's not visible from the street; its actually on the back end of the Metro Plaza complex. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no one else there when I arrived. I was greeted politely and the whole transaction took less than 60 seconds. I was taken aback by the cost, though. $12.95 to get a suit cleaned is a little steep. I came here on a friend's recommendation, with relatively short notice, to have my wedding dress altered. Jung Kim is a very talented seamstress and a dream to work with! She went above and beyond every time I met with her and just has such a caring personality. I thought what I wanted done would be easy (I don't know much about dress making/altering), but it became clear that, given the way my dress was actually made, it was going to be a LOT more complicated than I'd anticipated. She was tireless in her efforts to create a beautiful and clever solution to my issues, and I could not be more grateful for her dedication, quick handiwork, and very reasonable prices. I live in Northern VA so it's a 40 minute drive each way for me, but Kim's skill made it completely worth it. There's just nothing like having confidence in the people you choose to work with. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this establishment. The location may difficult to access (parking is tricky, it's above the Silver Spring metro), but the store is always clean and well-kept, the prices are very reasonable (less than any other local valet) and the customer service from the lovely couple who runs it is well above average. I'm always met with courtesy and a smile. I brought my bridal shower dress to the store to be taken in. After the first round of alterations, the dress was still too big in the waistline and hips, so I brought it back to hopefully be altered further. However, by this time, I needed to wear the dress in two days. The store owner Jung graciously said she would have it ready the next day, but she finished later that SAME day. I went back, tried it on in the store, and it was perfect. Furthermore, Jung refused to charge me for the secondary alterations. I was floored and humbled. I don't want to say all the good things I have to say about Metro Valet because I want to keep it a secret for myself!!! They are amazing, my clothes have never come from a dry cleaner in such pristine condition. They took their time and paid attention to details. All of my shirts were perfect. They even fixed missing buttons and interlocked the sleeves to prevent them from wrinkling. The owner offered to help carry my clothes to the car. More than anything they impressed my wife! They took extra care to ensure that one of her white jackets that had a makeup stain was like new again. In short Metro Valet is a great place to take clothes you care about! My rating is based on customer service. I came in on a Wednesday to have my jacket cleaned and I asked if it was possible to have it ready by Friday morning and was rudely declined. I asked if it was possible to pay more and put the jacket back in my hands and said no multiple times rudely. I'm not unreasonable if she had nicely said that it wasn't possible I would've accepted it but she wasn't so rude about it and just refused to help. I wouldn't come back if I was paid to. I recently went to them with a cream sport coat with pasta sauce on it. I asked them to please clean the coat. They informed me they have little success in removing such stains. I asked if they were cleaners? It's not like they haven't seen a pasta sauce stain before. All you need is water and a grease cutting cleaning product to remove the stain. Palmolive is perfect. I took the coat back disgusted as I didn't feel like cleaning it myself. I took the coat home and got out a wash cloth and the Palmolive. In about 5 min I had all the stains out. I took the coat back to the cleaner to show them what can be done with a little work and know how. They said I made it worse. I asked them were they kidding? The stain was gone and the coat looked like new. I don't know how long they have been in business but if you don't know the simplest things about getting certain stains out of clothing how can you call yourself a cleaner. Quick note - if you're trying to get a sugar based stain out of clothing, use water. It will dissolve the stain. If it's oil based use water and a grease cutter. Pretty simple. read more

I really like this place because they take care of my clothing. I haven't used their tailoring services, and I don't know that I would because they are a bit expensive but the prices are worth the dry cleaning. And to talk about the prices - they are a bit steep but worth it and when it comes to clothing, it's better to have it done right. Wonderful service provided by kind, hardworking people. I've been using this cleaners for over a year and am never disappointed by either the quality of the service or the friendliness of the proprietors. Shirts are always carefully pressed and hung with the sleeves crossed so as to minimize post laundering wrinkles. Spacers are used with suit jackets rather than simply buttoning the jacket, as happens in some dry cleaners. There's no parking, but Mr. Kim will happily bring your cleaning to the curb if you call in advance. Pockets are checked for forgotten items, which are always returned. read more

I didn't think that could be true; I've been hapy with previous dry cleaners, mostly based of off yelp reviews, but never fallen in love with one specific place. I am enamored and I am looking for engagement rings for this place! The couple that runs it is absolutely the sweetest. They are so kind and always crack jokes. The customer service here is superb. Because of my work schedule I ended up having to leave my clothes for along time, I actually remembered to call and let them know since there is a clear disclaimer on their receipt for clothes left longer than 30 days, but then they called me the following week just to remind me that I still have items there. I was disappointed at first that the price wasn't as low as I was expecting from a receipt posted on yelp, but it didn't matter because their work was so amazing. This is my second review for this cleaners for a different service they provide. Unless you live nearby where you can walk to this cleaners or it's on the way to work, it's difficult to find nearby parking to pick up or drop off your clothes for dry cleaning. Well, they fixed this problem for me. There is a passenger pickup/drop off area at front of the building. If you give them a call, they will come out to pick up or drop off the clothes to you. I suppose they do this for me because I'm a regular there, but Jung Kim is so nice she will probably do it for anyone. She makes me feel like a VIP. I strongly recommend giving them a try! read more
