I've been spoiled as a homeowner having my own machines to wash and dry, but recently had large bedding items (mattress pads, comforters, bedspreads) that wouldn't fit. I have noticed how expensive cleaning services have become (e.g., $5 to have a man's dress shirt washed and pressed?) so rather than spend $24 to have someone wash and fold each item of bedding, I did it myself. Rates for machines are definitely reasonable here--$8 to wash a large load, $1.50 to dry it. The items come out feeling clean. For a DIY-er like me, however, the laundromat is limited in these ways: 1) The staff who are cleaning for other customers frequently tie up all the machines, so there's a wait. I needed the large washer and there are only two of those. 2) The space is not large enough for more than one or two DIYers. There's nowhere to sit. There are only two small flat surfaces for folding. 3) Customers dropping off their items can't find enough counter space so end up putting things on the floor right in front of the entrance/exit. Due to such a traffic jam, the elder staff member scolded me for nearly breaking the door, to which I replied that there was no space to maneuver out of the shop. 4) Of the two staff members I encountered on two recent visits, the young lady was very helpful and friendly. read more

My king sized down comforter was picked up at 9 am on a Saturday and returned in time for me to put it on my bed that night. It is clean, has zero scent (as requested), and the feathers are all distributed nicely with no clumps. For $44, I am very happy. I didn't have to sit at a cleaners for hours to do it myself. I'll be using their services again for sure. read more

Very friendly staff. I self wash/dry and machines are clean and large. They clean very good for the 23 minute wash. Dryers large and 25cents for 7 minutes. The place to go in Bethesda! read more

I went in to get a down comforter washed, and the place initially surprised me because of its appearance. Yet they offered the service at a fair price and were able to accommodate me in getting it in two days, and when I picked it up it was like a new comforter. A excellent service, and I would highly recommend. Just a note that this place is cash only. read more

I needed a place to use a dryer and was glad to find this place. I walked in, a dryer was open, a few quarters got me 35 minutes which was all I needed. Exactly why I was looking for so 5 stars from me! read more

Wonderful people and service especially compared to do it yourself down quilts! Ditto on small rugs. A treasure!

I love taking my king size comforters here despite its dingy appearance or looking run down. Why? They have good service and I've never spent more than $15-17 to wash 3 comforters and 4 pillows. That includes the use of dryer as well. Yes, they only let you use cash. No fancy laundromat cards that you can use cash or credit card to reload it. But, the owner will gladly change the cash into quarters and turn the quarters back into paper bills later on. And ya know what? They're really nice to you about it. Another nice thing about it? You can actually drop off your items and come retrieve it later. It'll cost you a bit more, but it's still significantly less than any other dry cleaners. Something like less than $17-20 for a queen or king sized comforter. Bargain in my opinion compared to getting it done from other places. Finally, the parking is free and to maintain social distances for COVID-19 you just load the machine up and wait outside. I like to take a stroll through the capital crescent trails or visit my favorite Chinese restaurant nearby once my stuff is in the dryer for 45 minutes to an hour. It also has Whole Foods practically across tthe street so you can get grocery shopping completed to pass time. Anyhow, I am glad my friend who lives in the nearby condo told me about this place. I definitely recommend it if you need a laundromat to use in the otherwise tony neighborhood. read more

I rarely need a laundromat, so finding a good one with good reviews is hard. I had to clean 3 king comforters and didn't feel like paying $120 to take them to the dry cleaner. I wanted to wash it in my own detergent and use good smelling stuff! I'm giving this place a 3/5 because they clearly need to clean machines, clean the entire place and take care of their machines. Anyway, found this place and... well... it's what I expected. A little dirty, and run down. The owners are super nice and helpful, but one jumbo washing machine that was marked with 'out of service' smelled horrible - I mean really horrible - and he was going to start it up for me. I declined because of the smell and the fact that bacteria was clearly looming in this particular machine. I was able to find two other machines to accomplish washing 3 large beddings and all seemed fine. Ascetically this is a typical laundromat but it was busy. A lot of people drop their stuff off for wash and fold. Overall it worked in a pinch but probably going to look for a cleaner one in the future. read more

Excellent customer service, team, and professional. I have used this location multiple times for emergency laundry needs for our spas and they always deliver with a friendly service and quick turnaround time. Highly recommend, always. read more

This is a family owned business with MOM front and Center running the place like a well oiled machine. Her two sons are often there helping in whatever time they have left after attending college and grad school. Hard work pays off!! I live in a nearby condo which has an in-unit, stackable washer and dryer. Not large enough to handle our comforters and king size pillows. I also have many skin sensitivities so i bring my own detergent which they accommodate. I have NEVER ever been disappointed in the quality of their work. We drop off in the morning shortly after they open at 9 a.m. and only once did i have to pickup the next day. Usually always ready before 5 p.m. the same day. I find their prices in keeping with the quality of their work. I haven't compared because i can't imagine going elsewhere. Besides, i believe you get what you pay for and that is certainly the case at Poly Clean. Highly recommend them without reservation. read more

Wonderful wash dry fold! In twenty years, never a lost item, stains nearly always removed. Nice concerned owners and staff. NOT expensive for such good service!! read more

Few mins before their closing time and they allowed me to do my laundry. Awesome and quick service!

Friendly, professional, reliable and excellent service. I've asked for same day emergency laundry in bulk and they've been extremely helpful. read more

I love Kenwood Polyclean and I am SO glad that they are making it through COVID-19! Iris and Nelson and their family members are hardworking and so nice. I just dropped off a king-sized quilt and electric-heated mattress cover for them to do. $38 for both. I didn't even bother asking the dry cleaner near me, because I wanted them washed in detergent and water, plus I know I would pay at least twice as much at my nearby dry cleaners. read more

Super friendly and helpful - $5 for the washer and 25 cents for 6 1/2 min on the dryer

I needed to have some big bedding pieces laundered! I took it the Poly Clean, and I was happy with the outcome. The pieces were ready the next day! I highly recommend them! read more

It is not a common occurrence for me to use a laundromat but we're from out of town and needed to do a wash. Five dollars for a run on the washing machine and three for the dryer seemed a bit excessive to me, if that's the going rate than ok. Masks are required and it's hot in there, staff was nice and all but they're doing loads of laundry around you which can get a bit hectic as it's a small place. I could see issues if they're busy with ppl like me doing their own. read more

Place was pretty clean, all the machines work. Mega load washers cost $5, triple load washers cost $4, and the dryers cost $0.25 for 6.5 minutes. 6 washers, 10 dryers. You can also drop off laundry and they'll do everything for you. It is kind of expensive, but convenient for Bethesda (right next to 7-Eleven), and does have a few parking spaces. Not a place I would come to all the time, but was fine when our dryer broke. Everything is in good working order and the people who run it are very nice and helpful. Bring A LOT of quarters! There is a change machine if you need it though. They have a couple of folding chairs by the door for you to use, too. read more

I reached the point of no return with the amount of laundry piling up at home, so I decided to take it all to a wash and fold to help get myself back to zero. Poly Clean Kenwood did a great job with my 6+ loads of laundry for only around $40 - we'll worth the trade off of not having to do it myself. I dropped it off Sunday afternoon and it was ready midday Monday. Everything was washed, pressed, and folded, and I never want to do my own laundry ever again. The place is zero frills, but they do a great job. read more

Awesome efficient service! 8-10 medium-sized bags was a reasonable $66! Super worth it b/c the women that work there are incredible! They inspire teamwork, community and the empowerment of women! Greatly recommend without reservations! read more

Washer broke, so I went last week as it is close to me. Yes the place s staffed and those folks were helpful. But the reviewers seem oblivious to the fact that the place is as Trump characterized Haiti. Many machines' indicator lights do not work; the exteriors of the machines look as if they haven't been wiped down in a year; the floor is dirty; the place is cramped, with no seating other than two chairs by the door; floor shimmies when the spin cycle is on, which is always; Costs 4-6 dollars a load. Still no replacement washer and it's been a week, so going elsewhere to wash clothes this time. The owner/manager is there,so he seems oblivious to the circumstances described too. In a phrase, it is dirty. read more

I love this laundromat. Our washing machine broke and I had so much laundry to do in addition to some quilts we wanted washed before storing for the summer. They did it all! Clothes, towels, sheets and the quilts all came back clean, folded beautifully and smelling divine. The staff is hard working, conscientious and nice. Their pricing for this type of wash and fold service is a steal. read more

Bring your quarters! They lost one star for being surprisingly expensive. They offer full-serve wash, dry, and fold service for those of us who just can't seem to find the time to do our own laundry. However, at roughly $20 per load, I might find the time. But it's OK in a pinch--I would lose much more than that missing an hour of work to go do the laundry. The guy there was very friendly, was able to break our twenty for quarters, and he even switched machines for us so when we returned everything was dry. That was really just a favor, and we tipped him. Don't go looking for ritzy-fritzy here, it's old school. But the service was good and fast and the space was clean, so what more do you want? read more

Quick, efficient and horribly convenient to the bagel shop and my home. If it was tidier, I'd five star it. They have huge washers and dryers for rack covers, comforters, etc. Great for college students who've gotten behind and have piles of laundery and need it done fast. I send my college age kids there. read more

Staff is very helpful. They currently are able to provide quarters and you can purchase cups of detergent, etc. Machines were clean and functioning properly when I was there to wash a down comforter. They are open from 8:30 am until 6:30 pm Monday through Friday, the 8:30 am until 6:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. read more

This was the worst laundromat I've ever been to. Came to wash 2 down comforters, and was barked at by the woman up front multiple times. The whole place violently shakes when all the machines are going and it's small, cramped, and run down. I left to run errands while my comforters dried and got stuck in DC's awful traffic on the way back - arrived maybe 20 minutes after my cycle finished, to be barked at again by the same woman. Also expensive - $6 for one load! Will never be back. read more

Love this place! Our machines are so old and slow, so when laundry piles up, I've been taking it here. They wash and fold what would be probably 15-20 loads of laundry for me in a day and at a great price. read more

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Please don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees.DO NOT USE this place for your dry-cleaning, unless you don't care about your clothes! I just had four silk jackets supposedly dry cleaned by them and each came back having shrunk significantly. The sleeves are at least 3 inches shorter than they used to be and are basically ruined. One jacket also had a new rip in the silk lining. This place is terrible for dry-cleaning. Do not use! read more

They have drop of service, but I always choose to do my own. Machines work great and the ladies who works there is very nice. Not cheap, I'd rather pay for clean machines than not pay for dirty ones somewhere else. read more

I always appreciate a helping hand or just a kind word when I am out of my comfort zone. Awesome service and value. My washer broke this morning with a week's worth of laundry for a family of four and two puppies. Same day service saved me from a week of stress. My new washer and dryer arrive this week but I may still drop off my laundry for service. read more

Good basic laundromat. Large front load washing machines are $4, mega load wash machines are $6, dryers are 25 cents per 7 minutes (seems to take about 21 minutes for drying). Low stress, clean, the guy who I have seen staffing is curt but nice. read more

Small and older but I don't really need a luxury laundromat. Came to wash a bedspread and they were friendly and made change when I forgot quarters and helped me out when I was standing and staring at the machine like a nutjob looking for where to put the soap. Done in about 30 minutes and on my way. read more

Super nice staff makes this a pleasant place to go to. They were very good to the non profit I work with, giving us a good deal on washing and folding table linens. I have gone for large items as well (comforters and such) and they are quick and responsible.I would have given them 5 stars if they weren't quite so pricey. Apparently they are very popular-there are piles of comforters and blankets there every time I go. read more

Old fashioned looking place. Seems clean enough. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Dropped off a ton of laundry and they did it in less than 24 hours for a pretty reasonable price. They folded and bagged everything nicely. I didn't love the smell of their detergent so I would probably bring my own and ask them to use it next time. Cash only so be prepared! read more

Took an expensive comforter in for cleaning. The charge was $20. When I picked it up the next day, it had a hole in it. The cleaner denied responsibility. They said they simply put the comforters into the machine and so there is no way to damage them. I looked at the machine and ran my fingers around a very, large sharp edge where the latch is. The cleaner finally said it simply will not take responsibility for damage and have no repair capability. I recommend the cleaner in the nearby Westbard Shopping Center instead. They not only advertise they will clean comforters, they also have a tailor on premises. read more
