After more than a decade of me coming to Chevy Chase Valet I've never been so disrespected by a…read morebusiness owner in my life! If you are a woman do not bring your clothes here, John does not value you. He's an old miserable man who just wants your money. The story; my husband purchased a Canada Goose coat for me 2 years ago. To replace my old North Face which I had been keeping since high school (I'm 39 now), which John has also dry cleaned for me in the past. Last year I took the coat in after winter was over maybe wearing it 5-10 times tops! I picked it up several months later as I don't live in the area and my office moved to the other side of Bethesda (near Montgomery mall). Never bothered to look at it, which is my fault until about 3 weeks ago (it's been a very mild winter) I took it out to wear and noticed that the lining of the coat was grey (black coat) and looked like it got way too much heat as if it was pressed. This was in the lining of the sleeves and pockets. I called and John said he needed to see it. I came in so he can take a look and I've never been so disrespected by a man in my life! He yelled at me repeatedly saying me my coat was worn out, and that he didn't want to hear my bull shit and walked away! Why on earth after giving you my money for over 10 years would I lie about a coat! I don't think Canada Goose would be in such high demand if a coat looked like that after a handful of times being worn. He was incredibly rude and didn't want to take any responsibility. Completely ruined a $600 + jacket, and had no empathy whatsoever. See you in small claims court John. You messed with the wrong one! I've been running my own business for over 15 years ethically I will not be bullied by the likes of someone like you a real piece of shit and an excuse for for a human.

In march 2015, i took a $3000 YSL leather jacket for a cleaning. when i picked it up the leather coat shrunk significantly. i asked Mrs. Kim for refund on the cleaning cost, and $1000 store credit, since the jacket was used, and i liked their work. She initially claimed jacket was like that, but i produced photos of me in jacket, and she then promised to stretch it back to original. Two weeks later, the stretching did not work, and i asked for a store credit again, Mrs. Kim refused, and gave me the phone number of Bruno, a leather specialist in NJ that cleaned my coat. Bruno asked me for all information and photos, which he received, and then he stopped answering my calls. However on April 27, 2015, i received a very unbiased letter from Nacional Cleaners Association stating that in their opinion my jacket was cleaned properly, and they don't know how my coat went from size 44 to size 40. On June 12, 2015, i wrote a letter to President Valet II, i demanded payment for $1999, which was current Ebay price for this jacket, and advised them of my intentions to sue in small claims court and to contact consumer protection agencies. Today i stopped in to pick up another batch of dry-cleaning, which i paid for, and i asked the status of my claim. Mrs Kim advised that she filed an insurance claim, but could not tell me when and how much i will be paid. i tried to explain to her that she needs to pay me regardless, and deal with the insurance claim later. And then Mr. Kim came out from the back... Mr. Jeong He Kim in a raised voice told me that he is done talking to me and done reading my letters and in an aggressive manner asked me to leave.

But, the cost for three shirts, two suit jackets, and one pair of pants was about $37. Also, extra points because my items were ready first thing the following day. I'll admit that I originally came here because I needed a pair of pants altered. Unfortunately, I could not use the alteration services because I need 2- to 3-business day turnaround. I had been using the dry cleaners in the building where I lived and when they couldn't get it out, I took it to Georgetown Valet, despite the fact that they had only so-so reviews online, because they were local. Shame on me. When I first brought my shirts in, the woman up front told me the shirts needed a deep clean, rather than a simple wash to get the stains out. She also said it would be about $6 a shirt and seemed nervous while telling me the cost. That WAS expensive but I wanted my shirts cleaned, so I sucked it up and said--okay, let's do it. Several days later, I returned and another lady--who I think was one of the owners--brought my shirts up front. It looked as though NOTHING had been done to them. The collars and sleeves still were unacceptable. She explained that the woman who took my order was a temporary worker and must have misunderstood that I wanted a deep clean because the shirts had only gone through a simple wash. First of all, I'm not sure how that's my problem and then, amazingly enough, the woman who returned my shirts now (again, the owner) STILL expected me to pay even though I hadn't gotten either the service I asked for or clean shirts. The owner suggested I leave one shirt for a deep clean to see how that went (note, she did not guarantee it would clean the collar or cuffs), so despite my hesitation, I did so. Well, I came back several days later. The same owner was there and she showed me my shirt, which still looked terrible. I complained and reminded her that I hadn't had the service done right the first time either. She hesitated then took me through the process they use to clean the shirts, which I didn't really care about, since it obviously wasn't effective. I complained a little more and she hesitated again then said, let me get you a plastic bag for that. In other words: I don't care. She expected payment, which I probably shouldn't have done, but I just wanted out of there...I did not want another frustrating conversation with someone who obviously does not care about the quality of their service. Take note: this place provides a service, NOT clean clothes. If you're not happy with how your clothes are when they come back, you will still be expected to pay because a service has been delivered. I have noticed how expensive cleaning services have become (e.g., $5 to have a man's dress shirt washed and pressed?) so rather than spend $24 to have someone wash and fold each item of bedding, I did it myself. Rates for machines are definitely reasonable here--$8 to wash a large load, $1.50 to dry it. The items come out feeling clean. For a DIY-er like me, however, the laundromat is limited in these ways: 1) The staff who are cleaning for other customers frequently tie up all the machines, so there's a wait. I needed the large washer and there are only two of those. 2) The space is not large enough for more than one or two DIYers. There's nowhere to sit. There are only two small flat surfaces for folding. 3) Customers dropping off their items can't find enough counter space so end up putting things on the floor right in front of the entrance/exit. Due to such a traffic jam, the elder staff member scolded me for nearly breaking the door, to which I replied that there was no space to maneuver out of the shop. 4) Of the two staff members I encountered on two recent visits, the young lady was very helpful and friendly.
