Anyway, I dropped 3 dress shirts off to be dry cleaned recently and had 0 problem. My only nitpick is that it feels a little awkward to get the attention of the couple running the business if they're both not right up front. When i came back to grab my shirts, the lady (who I assume does the tailoring) looked like she was resting her eyes and the guy stepped out back to do something and was then in the back of the store for a few minutes. I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind waiting (despite the kind of crappy Christian music playing on their radio) but they would really benefit from a family friend or just a third employee who is primarily up front to help coordinate, even if business is slow. They're super convenient for me and very affordable, so i'll be a repeat customer. Honestly, give them a shot for dry cleaning if you're nearby; don't believe the 8-10 year old negative reviews.

I went to Number One Cleaners for both tailoring services and dry cleaning for more than a decade…read morefor two reasons: convenience and the fact that they use organic products. Over the years, I've had to, on occasion, bring clothes back in that had been tailored but the alterations weren't quite right. When this happens, I've always gotten the sense that there is resentment on the part of the owner who handles the alterations; almost a disbelief that she didn't nail it on the first try; she agrees to redo it begrudgingly. A couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, I dropped off a pair of black Italian corduroy suit pants that needed to be taken in. I've had these pants for years, and actually had them take them out for me a few years back. A week later, I picked them up, just before Thanksgiving, when I was scheduled to wear them to officiate my sister's wedding. I tried them on the day before leaving for my trip, and they were still a full size too large in the waist, but there was no time to get them readjusted. That's fine; it's not the worst tragedy. But after Thanksgiving, I brought them back in, and pointed out that they were still much too large - a good inch around the waist. Mind you, I paid $45 cash in advance to have the pants altered. This isn't a cheap tailor. Rather than apologizing and agreeing to get it right, the owner who manages the customer service immediately challenged me -- intimating it must be some type of mistake on my part, explaining the complexities of the alterations in a way that made no sense, and even suggesting I might have lost weight over Thanksgiving (which is such a common occurrence, as we all know). Then she took another look at the pants and told me these were not the same black Italian corduroy suit pants I had brought in to be altered just two weeks earlier! To say that I was floored is an understatement. Again, I've provided them steady business over 15 years, and I'm a pretty friendly and pleasant person, just FYI. After I became agitated at being called a liar, not to mention the absurdity of finding some type of replica black Italian corduroy suit pants that had already been altered, she relented and agreed to fix the pants. I picked them up a week later, and they fit well. But to be treated with such blatant disrespect after providing business to this establishment for 10+ years is beyond insulting. I left there and made a vow I will never go back.

Disastrous Experience: Untrustworthy Cleaners Ruined My Dress…read more I recently had an extremely unsatisfactory experience with this business that left me feeling disappointed and betrayed. I entrusted them with my dress, hoping they would remove a stubborn stain and restore it to its original condition. Unfortunately, what followed was a series of careless mistakes, deception, and irreversible damage that has left me unable to wear the dress ever again. Upon receiving my dress after the initial cleaning, I was dismayed to find that not only was the stain still present, but the string that held my dress together was missing. I promptly returned to the cleaners to express my concerns and request they rectify the situation. At first, they assured me they would search for the missing string and attempt to remove the stain once again. I reluctantly agreed, hoping they would make amends. However, when I came back for the second time, it became evident that they had done nothing to address my dress's issues, let alone find the missing string. Instead of admitting their incompetence and taking responsibility for their actions, they resorted to deception. They claimed they had located the missing string. Upon returning home and closely inspecting my dress, I discovered that the cleaners had taken drastic measures without my consent. They had cut a noticeable seam down the front of my dress to create a makeshift string using the dress's own material. This reckless and unauthorized alteration had ruined the dress entirely, leaving it beyond repair and unwearable. The blatant disregard for my property, the lack of honesty, and the shoddy attempt to cover up their mistakes are appalling. I never would have imagined that a seemingly reputable cleaning service would resort to such unprofessional behavior. Instead of being upfront with me, they chose to lie, leading to the irreparable destruction of my dress. I cannot express how disheartened and upset I am about this entire experience. Not only has my dress been ruined, but I also feel cheated and betrayed by the cleaners' dishonesty. It is clear that they lacked the skills, integrity, and respect for their customers' belongings. I strongly advise against using this cleaning service for any garment or item of value. Their incompetence and deceitful practices are unacceptable and should not be tolerated by any customer seeking a reliable and trustworthy cleaning service. As for my ruined dress, it serves as a constant reminder of the poor treatment I received, and I deeply regret ever taking it to this establishment.

I have noticed how expensive cleaning services have become (e.g., $5 to have a man's dress shirt washed and pressed?) so rather than spend $24 to have someone wash and fold each item of bedding, I did it myself. Rates for machines are definitely reasonable here--$8 to wash a large load, $1.50 to dry it. The items come out feeling clean. For a DIY-er like me, however, the laundromat is limited in these ways: 1) The staff who are cleaning for other customers frequently tie up all the machines, so there's a wait. I needed the large washer and there are only two of those. 2) The space is not large enough for more than one or two DIYers. There's nowhere to sit. There are only two small flat surfaces for folding. 3) Customers dropping off their items can't find enough counter space so end up putting things on the floor right in front of the entrance/exit. Due to such a traffic jam, the elder staff member scolded me for nearly breaking the door, to which I replied that there was no space to maneuver out of the shop. 4) Of the two staff members I encountered on two recent visits, the young lady was very helpful and friendly.

If you are a woman do not bring your clothes here, John does not value you. He's an old miserable man who just wants your money. The story; my husband purchased a Canada Goose coat for me 2 years ago. To replace my old North Face which I had been keeping since high school (I'm 39 now), which John has also dry cleaned for me in the past. Last year I took the coat in after winter was over maybe wearing it 5-10 times tops! I picked it up several months later as I don't live in the area and my office moved to the other side of Bethesda (near Montgomery mall). Never bothered to look at it, which is my fault until about 3 weeks ago (it's been a very mild winter) I took it out to wear and noticed that the lining of the coat was grey (black coat) and looked like it got way too much heat as if it was pressed. This was in the lining of the sleeves and pockets. I called and John said he needed to see it. I came in so he can take a look and I've never been so disrespected by a man in my life! He yelled at me repeatedly saying me my coat was worn out, and that he didn't want to hear my bull shit and walked away! Why on earth after giving you my money for over 10 years would I lie about a coat! I don't think Canada Goose would be in such high demand if a coat looked like that after a handful of times being worn. He was incredibly rude and didn't want to take any responsibility. Completely ruined a $600 + jacket, and had no empathy whatsoever. See you in small claims court John. You messed with the wrong one!
