I went earlier in the day so there was no crowd and I got early to all the fresh food. The menu options are simple, but diverse in their own way. I could have chosen between a pita, a bowl, or a plate. I opted for a plate. The plate consisted of the couscous, chicken, steak, and some of their toppings. Portions were decent and the flavor was great. The couscous was a solid base and I'm glad I tried it, although I would probably opt for rice in the future. Their spicy Harissa sauce was good to help give some kick to the whole dish. I also got a pita which was delicious. The staff was kind, including Riley who was super kind and helpful in assuring to figure out what kind of food I wanted to try. I look forward to coming back for some quick nutrients in the future.

This is the cutest little gem tucked away at the end of a strip mall. The second you walk in, you're greeted by a fun poppy mural and a display of all the delicious pastries of the day. Immediately I'm like, okay, I'm going to like it here! We had about a 20-minute wait, but thankfully there was plenty of time for mimosas and catch up chitchat! And honestly, the time flew by... we weren't even finished with them before we were seated. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was on point from there. Someone filled our water glasses almost immediately after we sat down, and we never had a dry cup. Mimosa refills were quick, too! I also grabbed a chai latte that came in the cutest old-school homemade-looking cup and was perfectly warm and spiced. Soooo good! For food, two of us ordered the Fresh Pick Sandwich with fresh tomatoes, stracciatella, kale pesto aioli, arugula, fresh basil and balsamic glaze on perfectly toasted sourdough. I added avocado and bacon and basically turned it into the most deliciously elevated BLT of my life. I also made a pro side swap for my side and went with the cheesy grits. They were delicious. No notes! My friend got the Fresh Pick without tomatoes and added prosciutto, and another friend ordered The Grit with shrimp, and that plate was BEAUTIFUL. Sweet pepper and tomato sauce, mushrooms, crispy onions, arugula and an egg over a plate of grits. Between us, there were clean plates, full bellies and a whole lot of "what are we trying next time?" conversations happening. The food came out quickly, the service was great, the atmosphere was adorable, and it was just an all-around excellent brunch. My only complaints? 1-Why do they have the cutest pastry merch for kids but not adults... I need that "I'm flaky" croissant shirt lol! And 2-Why is this little gem not closer to me?! But clearly that just means I need to make the drive again. Poppyseed Kitchen has officially been added to the "worth the trip" list!

I had the The Bisquit and Gravy ($12) after asking for a sample taste of their gravy. I have had horrible biscuit and gravy dishes in many places where the gravy was just cooked flowered grease. Not at Poppyseed! It was excellent, flavorful and if you ask for more, you will get it. I did. Wife agreed on the gravy. Wife had the Poppyseed Salad ($12) which was so loaded with cucumbers that annoyed her. Very little lettuce, but lots of other hard veggies. She was not happy. My second choice that lunch day was listed as The Ranch Hash ($18). A fellow diner across from us ordered this hash and said he loved it. It did look good with braised brisket, potato hash and two eggs to order. A very fine portion and will be my order when we return. Parking galore. First, Speckled Pear has removed the community seating and the prepared food, bakery and produce counters from my earlier visits and replaced them with true "restaurant" tables. The focus is now squarely on dining, with lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch service. And oh, there's still a wine bar and bottles are still available for purchase. In my humble view a significant positive step. Our servers were excellent, including helpfully explaining some of the wine options (my wife and sister-in-law ordered a flight). They put 7 of the quarts awkwardly in one box, and one quart in a bag. I was handed these items. At no point was I offered assistance to my vehicle or to even open the door with my hands full. A simple offer would have gone a long way. 2. When I got to the car, I inspected the quarts. I'm glad I did because of their awkward placement, they were essentially rubbing up against each other causing 3 of the tops to partially come off. The only one wrapped was the single one in a bag. All 8 quarts should have been wrapped for clean transportation. 3. There was a discrepancy of soup in each of the quarts. Some of them were almost full, which is adequate, but others look liked like they were shorted by a bit. I weighed them, and I had containers going anywhere from 750 grams to 879 grams. I should have 674 more grams of soup if all were filled around that 879 grams mark. Aside from all of that, the soup was warm after traveling and perfect to serve at a gathering. If McAlister's had a least offered better service and gave the proper amounts paid for, I would have rated this experience better.

The service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The dining area was well maintained and had a very inviting atmosphere. However, what truly stood out was the quality of the fresh made-to-order food. The chicken tenders were packed with meat, rather than being mostly breading, which was a delightful surprise. The crispy fries were seasoned to perfection, offering a variety of flavors. One thing that deserves special mention is their incredible sauce bar, featuring options like Korean BBQ, their signature sauce, and buttermilk ranch, among others. It's a sauce lover's paradise! And let me tell you, their avocado salad is out of this world! The combination of fried avocado and GOUDA cheese is simply mind-blowing. I couldn't get enough of it read more

A genuine smile, kindness, professionalism, and a positive attitude create an atmosphere where customers feel welcomed and valued. Connor was the first person who assisted me. He took my original order for two salads and two rosemary pepper fries, and when I decided to come back and add an order of tenders, he was just as patient, friendly, and helpful the second time. He was knowledgeable about the menu, professional, and genuinely pleasant throughout our interaction. Braden, who was preparing the food, was equally impressive.
