Food was awful. The crab that I believe was deepfried was either hollow or mushy once you cracked it open. The salmon tasted like it was either rotten, or freezer burnt, and tasted like cardboard. The scallop shells were runny and tasted like soapy water. The Best thing was the green beans. The deserts had no flavor, and I was served diet pepsi when I asked for regular pepsi. The service sucked, and since I was there with a group of people, they automatically charged me 10% tip. Nobody in the group was happy with the food, or service. My daughter or myself did not eat $25 worth of food, as that's what they charged per person. When I told them that I didn't agree with the whole tip thing, because it was not disclosed, they said that how it is at every restaurant. I explained that I want to leave what I feel is worth it, not what they decide to charge me. Then the smart mouth punk kid opens his mouth to start arguing with me. Me and my friends or myself will usually go for a buffet once a week and try different area around town. I was reading the Yelp comments here. I don't know why people give a low rating on them. For what I experienced it was friendly service and so many foods to choose from. I came in on dinner time the price is only $15-17. A great deal for that kind of price with so many seafoods to choose including crab legs, shrimps, clams, sushi, and they even have Sirlion steak!!! Just finished dining at the Super Buffet in Lacey and had a pretty good experience overall. On entering, the restaurant appeared clean.Tables were bussed in a timely manner. There was a fair rotation of diners , but the atmosphere was subdued and relaxing. The hot food selection seemed a bit sparse, but looked and appeared relatively fresh. (It is a buffet, after all.) And tasted pretty good. The raw fruit and vegetables were fresh. Didn't try the Mongolian Grill, but it was available. Overall, a really enjoyable experience. Came in again at lunch. Kalbi Ribs are at dinner time.. bummer. So we ate our way thru yum. A little soup , sushi. Then some vegis and mackerel , coconut shrimp, tofu, chicken.. oh my. Then room for a piece of cake roll and some peaches. Snagged 3 almond cookies to go( in my pocket ). The Mongolian grill guy was just standing around.. I've been coming here for 2 years now and never have I ever nor have those I've taken here gotten sick. I love this place and haven't ever come across any cold food or food that didn't taste right. Yes they closed for 48 hrs I believe but from Sept (my last time going there) to tonight (12/21/19) - the restaurant was clean and food was HOT and Delicious We go for the crab and many other items they have. - This afternoon it was packed and by the time were leaving there was a line outside. You take many chances going to a restaurant(s) eating food made by someone you don't know - you risk ending up with food poisoning based on whether cleanliness was a factor or whatever the case may be but for those who are regulars that feared maybe the closure was a sign of "don't go there" - well you're wrong. I am sure whatever prompted the closure it's been taken care of. Don't take Melinda's word (below) - you're not going to die. Did she die? She yelping from the grave? The prices for this place are so outrageous it's unbelievable. Me and my wife only had one plate each and we got charged nearly 50 dollars. The food itself was terrible. Everything was cold and their ice cream tasted so bad due to their machine malfunctioning. I can tell they do the bare minimum to stay in business and it's not respectable and vaguely pathetic the way they treat their customers and their restaurant. Ok So I've heard this place doesn't have the best reputation. Cleanliness, staff... very you eat, you leave type of place. But my wife and I have always liked the food. Pretty good options. Their buffet operation has changed a little bit but the basics have always been there. Seattle style to sushi to fried American to shellfish to soup and steamed buns. Seems to be an option to have them cook a bowl Mongolian style but have not tried it. What really has us coming back is the "spicy shrimp". Lightly breaded shrimps with pepper flakes onions and jalapeños. I don't know why but it's delicious. Unfortunately all the local casino buffets have shut down due to COVID. So Chinese buffet will have to do. During the pandemic we were able to load a to go plate and pay for to go. That was enjoyable. read more

You can request to look at the buffet before making a decision to stay. I decided to stay for dinner as they had fried crab, hot king crab claws and sushi / sashimi. Came back here on last Saturday night and they've sure made quite a couple changes since our last visit! Prices have gone up by a $1 making it $15.99 on weekends. But they do have a cheaper price compared to other Chinese buffets in the area so we decided to come back here. They close at 9:30 so I'm not sure why yelp says 10:30pm They also changed their grill station and started serving hibachi! Absolutely a big fan of this! The smell of the chef cooking the food spreads throughout the whole place! We went in as a group of 7 (6 adults,1kid) and were charged with a 10% service charge. Seeing a lot of yelpers comment about this situation, I thought I'd given my opinion on it. Personally, i don't see what the whole big deal is. I've been to restaurants all the time where the bill states that I'm being charged a tip. They say that they start charging groups with 6 or more and I've been to places where they will literally start charging groups of 3! And not just 10%, I've gotten a bill with 18% on it. Also, maybe it's because I've been a waitress myself, I don't find the service charge a big whoop. Many groups don't give tip. You can give them the best service they've ever gotten, but they just won't tip. The place that I used to work at, had a policy of charging groups of 5 or more with 15% as a means to protect the waitresses from earning a big fat 0 after all the hard work. From what I know, waitresses get paid a very low wage because their main source of income is based off tips. read more

Super Asian food!! A huge lay out of choices. Affordable. Food for the whole family. Clean and inviting from the front door to the food to the restroom to the politeness of the staff. Clean seating. Fast seating. The food was to die for!! I will definitely go back. A wonderful experience. Plan on going with an appetite and taking time to enjoy the many foods available. Don't rush through your time here or you will lose out on the whole experience being offered. No bubble tea here however there are lots of otherwise tasty beverages. Careful not to fill up on drinks so you have room for your food. I made the mistake of getting some dessert while passing through for my first plate of food. It was delicious and I got it almost every time I got a new plate!! I don't remember what anything I ate was called but it all was better than terrific. The decor of the establishment is superior to any other Asian restaurants I have been in in this area in my opinion. The chandeliers, glasswork and wood carvings are all beautiful. Was down south and stopped in Lacey looking for some food. This place caught my eye and all in all was pretty good. I'm not sure if Super Buffet had a heyday, but if it did, it was probably over a year in the past. The water fountain/fish pond is a little bit sad, but a cool idea at this point. The food itself is pretty good and I really don't have that high a bar for such a high variety high volume type of establishment. I didn't try the sushi although they seemed to have a nice selection. This restaurant is literally a sprawling scene of undesirable food and overstuffed families, with incredibly mesmerizing chandeliers. If there is a hell, this would be it, as far as I can tell. But people seem to love it. It does offer a wide variety of colorless food options that all don't remotely resemble actual Chinese food. The Lacey Super Buffet... or as I call it "The Joy-Less Club...is an experience in charmless dining. Upon walking in the door the startled hostess looked up from her phone long enough to ask "how many" and point me to a waiter who seated me, and as per usual asked what I would like to drink. As he shambled off to fetch my tea I visited the restroom. Noting the standing water (?) behind the toilet, I wondered what the rest of the evening had in store. The restaurant itself was devoid of customers save a couple of gents over against the wall who were finishing up their meals. The large restaurant, decorated in a Mandarin vernacular, was bright but cheerless. Muffled music emanated from speakers somewhere above, but was insufficient to mask the monotonous drone of refrigeration units and the occasional clang of a pan from the back kitchen. The staff, who to a number appeared indifferent to my presence, did not even bother to try to hide their boredom. The hostess walked around listlessly pushing a broom in one hand, and holding her phone in the other. Her complete attention was focused on her game. The two waiters retired to a booth and laid down. Their legs dangling off the end of the banquette into the aisle way. One can only assume they were young lovers, making doe eyes at each other across the space under the table. I've attached a photo here. I perused the offerings, noting that much of the fare appeared to have been in place undisturbed for quiet some time. The sushi looked appealing enough so I selected a few pieces from the trays. The wasabi, carefully smoothed into a dome in its serving bowl, appeared to have developed a dry crust being exposed to the air as it was. Other options, similarly undisturbed and exposed to the air, and further abetted by the heat of the steam tables and heat lamps, had likewise began the process of mummification. Baked fillets of fish appeared to be completely desiccated and sat in their bone dry pan looking glumly like dried cod. Wontons, adrift in a shallow pan of broth, their tops exposed to air and heat lamps, had turned leathery. Peanut chicken was a crispy peanut breading encasing a strip of chicken jerky, moistened with an oily peanut sauce. There were a few forlorn pieces of Peking duck in the next tray, which offered more jerky textures, this time topped with a succulent cap of salty fat. I pried a fried salt and pepper shrimp off its final resting place... it proved the be shatteringly crisp, the hot table having rendered every last bit of moisture from its little carcass. There really wasn't anything on the hotlines that appeared fresh. It was all quite neglected and dried out. I realize that 8:30 on a Monday is bound to be a slow time, and I know it is a challenge to keep dozens of offerings freshly supplied and looking appetizing fit one guest late on a Monday. But pity the poor guest who pays $16 for this disappointment. At the end of my visit, the hostess came to my table, asked if I would like anything else. I said "no, I'm done." She said again "Do you want any desserts or anything." And I said, "No, nothing else." I thought I'd sit for a moment and sip some tea but then.... I don't know if she gave a secret signal or rang a buzzer or what, but suddenly she and the waiters and every person from back in the kitchen sprang to life and descended on the buffet with carts and began disassembling everything. They came at it like they were looting the place. Ladles and tongs were being tossed into a big pan, half of them clattering to the ground. They grabbed up trays of food and unceremoniously tossed them onto the waiting carts, stacking them up one on top of the other. Just tossing it. It was a bizarre spectacle. The imagery of it ... the food they had just sold me for $16 bucks ... next destination: dumpster. Boy that makes a person feel good about their meal! I suppose that is the fate of all buffet food at the end of the night. It feels so disrespectful some how. No respect for me. No respect for their product. No respect for the establishment or their employer. They were totally indifferent to me being there at this point. I got up to leave, setting my bill and cash ... exact change... on the counter where one of the waiters could see it. No "Thank you! Have a good night! Come again!" Joyless. Empty. I left determined to write a good Yelp review and that was the only thing that kept me from feeling depressed about the whole experience. Truly dreadful. I'll start this with the cliche - if i could give 0 stars, I would. Came in for dinner tonight with my family. It was not overly busy, there was a hostess and two waiters working. We walked in the doors and it smelled overly fishy. This should have been our first sign to hightail it out of there. A majority of the food seemed old, over cooked, dry and tasteless. I realize it's a buffet. I realize it's not going to be super high quality. This was just awful. For $50 (for 3 people), i'd expect a little more The floor was dirty and sticky. The service was slow (the two waiters were playing on their phones while tables had plates to clear) and I witnessed the hostess seat a party WITH HER CELL PHONE IN HER HAND AND A POOL GAME OPEN ON HER PHONE. I went to pay and the hostess did not ask about the meal. She still had her phone in her hand and hardly looked up. I offered feedback that the service and food were not good, she smiled and said "thank you". I did not leave a tip. I ALWAYS tip. This was an all around terrible experience. We had a family gathering here one Saturday for lunch. We were there for a few hours and they did not bother us to leave. A good place to hold a big event and save yourself from cooking. They were courteous, attentive and friendly the whole time. I was amazed that we did not get kicked out for being there that long. The food was ok, lots of variety to choose from. Asian cuisines with some seafood and other options too. There's some dessert too but not that many. Horrible service. We have gone to other Asian buffets in the area and all are pretty good with good service. We have gone to the Super Buffet in Lacey and Dupont and do NOT recommend either. We were at a group function today. I recently had a major surgery and had to use a cane. They did not have anyone to slice the roast beef, left it to patrons to do it, and the knife was very dull. Once through that and after returning to the table I asked one of the staff for a steak knife and was told "get it yourself". I got up and limped out and there were no knifes at the roast beef, I asked the same person for a knife again, and was told "I'm busy, they are at the sushi bar". Also the crab was too salty. Wife and I went there during a weekday during the week of April 12th, 2021, right at the busy noon lunch hour and to our dismay we were the only patrons there for a good 30 minutes before other patrons came in which is a good thing, but after reading other reviews probably a bad thing. I agree with other reviewers, here, the soup was nasty and old tasting. there were too much strange foods with strange off-the-wall tastes. My wife, being Asian, knows the tastes of many foods and she said they didn't prepare them correctly for what they are labeled at. Not enough selection at the salad bar with mostly cookie type deserts ( its too bad the soft-serve ice cream machine was not working ). How can one mess up with making Jell-O, well, this place did or maybe where they got it from already messed it up - it tasted awful. They didn't offer any diet drinks and so I had to take the water. Lacy water, if that's what they are using, tastes bad too. Is DuPont the only place that has good tasting water? Seems like it. Speaking of DuPont I don't know why the better Super Buffet at DuPont permanently closed up shop- it sure beats this buffet and I did a review about it giving it 5 stars. I would not recommend this place even though Covid-19 precautions were in place at all times. The food taste and selection was a big disappointment here.
