Salmon hand roll
Daria R.

I don't usually update my reviews, but that's how mind blowing this truck is! I couldn't wait for them to come back to our apartments, I even put it on the calendar. The salmon hand roll is the best I've ever had. The quality of the fish and the generous portions are just amazing. The freshness of everything was super evident. The salmon just melted like butter. Also, the presentation of the rolls was beautiful. They sold out of albacore, and so we tried a tuna hand roll, and it did not disappoint at all. We paired it with crunchy onions and that texture and flavor pairing was phenomenal. This is one of the best sushi experiences I've ever had, even compared to some omakase meals and Nobu etc. In addition, the power couple running it were just awesome as well. Super nice, informative, and generous. It made it easy that they gave a devise that beeped when it was ready, so we could go for a walk etc., while we waited. Even the next day we were raving about how the rice was cooked perfectly, and just how phenomenal everything was. Oh and I also found the descriptions, they were in front of my face, I'm just blind lol my only complaint is that all the options look delicious, so I had problems deciding what to get, because I want it all lol

I've had Super Bowl Sushi twice now and holy cow, it's SO GOOD. Like next level good. I got the Hurricane Roll this time and it was soooooo good. Wish I got two. Also, the service is always fantastic. Everyone who works there is super friendly!! I catch them at Lawless in NoHo!! Go experience this amazingness!!

The food was extremely fresh and delicious, and the service was great. The portion sizes were just right, too. Even the miso soup that came with the combo was really good. The interior was neat and clean, and the restrooms were also very clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, attentive, and handled everything well--my daughter was super happy with the experience. Although the restaurant was a bit small and packed with customers, we were lucky enough to get seated right away without waiting. I'll definitely go back when I have the chance!

My sister and I tried a lot of different dishes that were recommended by the server. The udon was subpar and lacked flavor depth. However their sushi rolls are unique and refreshing. I really enjoyed how the fresh fish sat on top of the sushi rolls and it was light and not too overwhelming. I would come back here and try other foods as they have a wide variety of sushi rolls I have never tried before.

I have officially found my favorite sushi spot in the valley! I was going to gate keep this place…read morebut, I decided I had to share my review for this amazing place. My boyfriend and I were across the street at Fantasia watching a World Cup came, and after we were craving hand rolls, when he spotted Toro Sushi Poke House. We took a look at their menu which was displayed on the outside. The prices were really affordable, so we just had to try it, and were so glad we did because this was one of the most affordable and delicious nigiri and hand roll experiences we've had! The place itself is small and intimate. They have a bar area and few tables inside and a small outdoor seating as well. When we entered we were greeted by our friendly waiter, and seated immediately. It was pretty empty around 5 pm on a Friday, which was convenient because we didn't have to wait for a table. I'm not sure how packed this place normally gets, but it was also the long holiday weekend, so that might be why. We started off with the fatty tuna nigiri. For $6 you get two big pieces, which is so affordable, and the quality was amazing! We then each got the 6 piece hand roll set which came with a spicy tuna, scallop, yellow tail, crab, salmon, and toro. I'm not a fan of scallops, so I switched it out with a yellow tail roll. The fish was top quality and delicious. I cannot wait to come back here and stuff my face again!

Seating: The inside of the place is on the smaller side. There are a couple of tables inside and a lot of bar seating. They also have multiple tables set up outdoors. Just a heads up that the outdoor tables are set up on the street with a barricade separating you from traffic. Classic Salmon Poke Bowl: The base of the bowl is white rice with soy sauce. The ingredients include: salmon, masago, seaweed, imitation crab, green onion, furikake, fried onions, cucumber and ginger. It's a cute simple poke bowl. The rice was fluffy and the toppings were fresh. I enjoyed the bowl, however, I wished there was a bit more salmon or toppings because the rice was quite a lot. Build Your Own Poke Bowl: These are the following items I chose inside my bowl: - Base: half spring mix and white rice - Protein: salmon and yellowtail - Sauce: sweet ponzu - Toppings: mandarin slices, corn, cucumber, and edamame This was a lot better than the classic salmon poke bowl. I think it was because you get to pick your own sauce. PSA: There is no restroom inside the shop, however, if you ask the staff they will give you a code to a restroom located a short walk away.

This visit completely changed my perception of Kopan Ramen for the better. My daughter loved it so much that she immediately asked to come back next time. I highly recommend their food--especially the Sapporo roll, which is a baked roll and my absolute favorite. My friend and I shared four rolls and walked out completely stuffed! While I know they have other spots, I've only been to the Burbank location, but it definitely hooks me every time.

The beer was actually a steal I only paid half price after rolling an even number on the dice, which was a fun little promotion. Now, I hate to be that person, but the ramen was just okay. I even asked for it to be extra spicy, but it honestly wasn't spicy at all. It was giving... nothing. The broth was decent, but it definitely lacked the heat I was hoping for. The stuffed jalapeños were also just okay. Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out to make me want to come back. Unfortunately, I don't think this would be my go-to ramen spot.

Unfortunately, one of the plates we were given was still stained with food, which honestly should have been an immediate red flag. I ordered the Crab Zanmai Combination Plate. From what I could tell, it included a baked crab hand roll, 2 pieces of baked crab sushi, an 8-piece California roll, a soft shell crab roll, and 1 piece of fried soft shell crab. I'm kind of guessing on the exact contents because I couldn't find an actual description on either the menu or the restaurant's website. The soft shell crab was easily the best part of the combo, although that's admittedly a pretty low bar. The hand roll and baked crab pieces were passable. The California roll was more akin to something you'd find in a Ralph's grocery store sushi section than at an actual sushi restaurant. I also had the unfortunate experience of trying the salmon skin roll. The salmon skin may as well have been jerky. It didn't have that light crispness, but was extremely tough and not enjoyable at all. Definitely would pass on that. For basically $30 for this combo, I honestly think you're better off going to an actual sushi restaurant like Aikan. SushiStop is probably fine if you just want quick, cheap sushi, but if you're looking for a meal you'll genuinely enjoy, I'd probably recommend going elsewhere.
