Tacos

Flavorful Tacos & Good Taco Tuesday This is a fantastic spot for Taco Tuesday. The Tacos: The meat was flavorful, and you can tell the tortillas are well-made, they were perfectly soft and fresh. The Perks: As soon as you sit down, they serve tortilla chips, salsa, and a bean dip. Customization: They have a self-serve salsa bar with onions and cilantro for tacos.

Chapman Burrito (with chicken)

Fantastic atmosphere and great service. A complete feast and fairly priced. I got the Chapman Burrito but swapped out the red meat for the chicken. It came out on a sizzling plate you'd normally get fajitas on - so great! Flavors were unique - really happy with my choice. The rest of the menu has a lot of interesting but reliable and classic Mexican dishes, I also loved the side of beans that automatically comes with the complimentary chips and salsa. Nice touch. Chips came out a little cold and the initial salsa serving could have been stronger but this is just me being not picky. I have no real complaints - just a great experience. I will definitely be back.

Sweet little spot in Orange with pretty good food. The complimentary chips and salsa comes with refried beans, the salsa had a kick which I liked a lot. The beans were tasty as well. I ordered the Chapman burrito which comes in a piping hot pan covered in a delicious salsa concoction consisting a creamy tomatillo salsa, melted cheddar, sour cream and avocado on top. Inside is filled with steak, chorizo, refried beans, Mexican rice, pico de gallo. The taste is a hot gooey mix of happiness. Definitely give it a try if you're a burrito aficionado. I'm not a fan of the filler of Mexican rice in a burrito but the sauce helps mask it and it works nice here. The carne Asada plate was a typical plate you can find at most places and it was great. The meat was flavored nice and I loved the grilled jalapeño and onions that come with it. Overall the food was excellent. The restaurant has its own parking and has a nice vibe and atmosphere inside. It's very welcoming. We showed up on a Friday night and were sat right away. The service was phenomenal. I never had to once ask for my drink to be refilled and they always made sure we had what we needed. I can't wait to return!

Food: 4* Service: 5* Ambiance: 3* Value for price: 4* Excellent service. Very attentive and helpful. The food by and large was very tasty. Ample in portion, a little high in price, but worth it. I wanted to try the carne en su jugo but it was sold out. So I tried the huge Chapman burrito. It was very good, ample meat and not filled with fillers like rice and beans. It comes on a cast iron hot plate and is smothered in a cheese sauce. A hint of spice but very well flavored. The free chips, salsa and refried beans are good. The salsa is a little spicy but complex in a good way. The beans were good and a different type of appetizer, if you haven't been to Guadalajara or some parts of Northern Mexico where this is a typical appetizer, it may seem odd. My colleagues enjoyed the barbacoa, fajitas, and Chapman burrito. The drinks were good and ambiance nice. I plan to return.

I really enjoyed my food and the coffee. Salsa was on point. Service was fast and friendly. It's a casual place. You can orders drinks and watch sports. They do have TV's inside. Everything I tried was good. No disappointments. I would come back.

Came here for a work outing since it's close to the office. They have their own parking lot which is nice for the area. Ended up splitting the Chapman burrito, torta, and California burrito. Every entree was massive and they serve chips and salsa as well.

Chillaquiles, Chorizo w/ eggs and Chillaquiles burrito. The horchata is also from scratch. Cafe de ola is also delicious

Finally found them!!! My childhood restaurant. Food is amazing!!! This is your sign to try them out and see for yourself. The service is so amazing and they treat you like family. Ambiance is also good. 10/10 is an under statement.

Best aguachiles I have found in OC! Not too spicy, not too limey- but perfect! Great atmosphere and nice people working there. Service was fast and food was good! We will be back.

The staff at this restaurant is truly outstanding--friendly, charismatic, and attentive. The decor is well-done, creating a pleasant atmosphere, though the seating could be more comfortable. While the space isn't large, it does accommodate bigger parties. As for the food, most dishes were enjoyable. The Carne Asada plate and Carne en su Jugo were both delicious, full of rich, well-balanced flavors. The burrito, with its spicy, cheesy sauce, was a hit, and the Chili Verde was also a favorite. However, some items fell a bit short--the beans had a canned taste, the wings had an overly sweet sauce that may not appeal to everyone, and the side soup was a bit too salty. That said, these are largely a matter of personal preference. Overall, it was a great experience with excellent service and mostly enjoyable food. While some dishes didn't quite meet our expectations, the standout items made it a worthwhile visit. Parking is limited but there is street parking as well.

10/10 Food: Chapman Burrito: OMG this burrito is absolutely delicious--I don't even know where to begin! It arrives piping hot, with the sauce bubbling and steam rising. The filling is a mouthwatering mix of steak and chorizo, creating the perfect blend of flavors. To top it off, the restaurant offers COMPLIMENTARY chips, salsa, and beans! The chips are thin, served warm, and pair perfectly with the salsa. Everything I ate was flawless--zero complaints (and trust me, I'm not easy to impress). 10/10 Service: When we initially walked in there was not one person in the restaurant but over time a couple guests started to arrive. The service was great and we were taken care of. 7.5/10 Cost: $18.00 without tax and tip. Price is alright! It makes it all worth it though when we have free chips, salsa, and beans!

Bagre Frita

Came here because of Instagram/TikTok, did not disappoint. Tried the whole fried fish (bagre - catfish), and absolutely enjoyed the dish. Fried crisp to perfection, tastes great, and great portion size (comes with rice & beans on the side). Plenty of salsas, jalapeños, onions, pickled items available on the side. Only downside of this place is the parking, small lot, busy streets. Staff is very nice/accommodating.

Any taco Tuesday special?

Yes, our tacos are $ 1.79 for Carne Asada, Pastor (Chef Laura's special recipe), Carnitas, chorizo and Lengua Enjoy!!!!!

Is this place still open? What are the hours? I went a few weeks ago on a Friday around 4pm and it was closed. Then a week later on a Tuesday around 10:30am. It was also closed....

Yes, we are open 9am to 9pm 6 days a week except for Sunday 8 am to 8 pm

Is this place pet friendly? I have a service dog and would love to try this place?

I don't think so, not inside it's small. Well I didn't see any but they do have outside seating. I saw someone there sitting outside and their dog was there.

Are the beans vegetarian? Also, is any meal vegetarian besides the cheese quesadilla? Thank you!

Yes, the frijoles de olla are.

The crowd alone caught our attention, so we decided to give it a try -- and I'm glad we did. Atmosphere: The moment we walked in, the vibe immediately stood out. It has a charming vintage feel, with beautiful natural sunlight pouring in, making the whole space warm and cozy. Perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch or a casual meal with family and kids. Here are the dishes we highly recommend: Guacamole & Chips Absolutely addictive. The guacamole was fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor. We couldn't stop eating it. Steak Plate The steak was cooked perfectly tender, and the juicy corn underneath soaked up all the delicious flavors. Every bite felt satisfying. Pulled Pork Tacos Super authentic Mexican-style tacos with rich layers of flavor. The combination of refried beans and avocado sauce made them even better. A few small notes: The restaurant was extremely busy, so the staff seemed a little overwhelmed at times. Service was okay overall, but understandable considering how packed it was. Coffee lovers: Their coffee leaned a bit on the sweeter side for us, so if you prefer less sweetness, it's worth mentioning when ordering. Overall, such a fun and lively brunch spot in Old Towne OC. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area!

Nothing pre-made, everything crafted fresh and customized to your liking, and you can absolutely taste the difference. It's tucked off Katella across from the TJ Maxx and Smart & Final center, with parking and entrance in the back. Once inside, you're welcomed by such a friendly team. The space has two dining rooms, a cozy bar at the entrance, and a cute little street-facing patio. We kicked things off with the Picchu and La Diabla cocktails. The Picchu was crisp, refreshing, and light. Super easy to sip. The Diabla had a subtle spicy kick that kept things interesting while still refreshing. For food, we started with the ceviche mixto without octopus, and wow. The citrusy lime flavors were bright and fresh, perfectly balanced with sweet plantain chips on the side. The portion was huge, easily enough for three to four people. Next was the mixed Lomo Saltado. It was packed with flavor, though the chicken leaned a bit dry for me. I would probably go all-in on the beef or shrimp next time. The shrimp were huge. Then came the ribeye tacos and I'm not exaggerating when I say I was in love. The beef was cooked to perfection. Juicy, tender, and every bite felt like a moment. We also ordered extra plantains because these flavors just call for it. Crispy, sweet, and so satisfying. My second drink, the Oye Mi Amore, was a standout for me. I love guava and this one delivered. Now let's talk about the experience because it really made the night. When another server came to box up our food, we didn't catch his name, but he turned a simple paper bag into a whole luxury experience and had us laughing nonstop. Our server then asked about dessert. Of course we said yes since it was date night. She surprised us with a complimentary churro. While we waited, she brought out tequila shots. Totally unexpected and so smooth. Then the churro arrived and it was unlike any I've had. Light, airy, and delicate instead of dense, with just the perfect sweetness. The whipped cream was soft and cloud-like and paired beautifully. As if that wasn't enough, she came back again with another round, this time in snifter glasses with a darker tequila that was rich and incredibly smooth. We never felt rushed. We were just genuinely taken care of the entire time. For the two of us, the total came out to $145, which felt more than fair for the quality and experience. We will 100% be back, and next time we are bringing family and friends. Huge thank you to the staff for making this such a fun and memorable night.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well.
