    I don't know this man (Halloween 2023)

The Aesthetic: Modern retro community game bar with a massive variety of pinball machines , arcade games, fun drink specials, and made to order hot pockets! The Price: The drinks are a good price compared to other bars nearby, and they do affordable drink specials throughout the week. The Parking: They have a dedicated lot that fills up every night with overflow parking in the rock lot across the street. It gets packed during big events, so I'd expect to park in the rock lot at times. My Order: I love their local garlicky pickle juice, I pair that with a shot of vodka and I'm good to go for the night. If I'm not drinking, I love that they carry a few flavors of Lenny Boy Kombucha. My favorite games are Initial D and the Taiko drums, I'm obsessed! The bartenders and workers are super friendly, they make you feel like family. The Conclusion: This is by far one of the most unique and fun bars in the city, you need to check it out!

This place is one of the best arcade bars I've been to. Clean, cool decor (the giant playable gameboy!!), kind bartenders and the best part - I didn't see a single game out of order. We played one game where you bounce a ping-pong ball to get it in a hole. I dropped one and when I looked under to get it, there were about 15 other balls lodged under the machine. Pulling them out every so often might help for better gameplay! They're thoughtful enough to have drink holders all around and there's also a patio with several tables out back. We went on a Thursday and there was a really good Jamaican food truck parked out front. I don't live in Charlotte, but I'd definitely return.

Never been to a bar like this before, but really enjoyed the experience! Drinks were great- the princess peach was very peachy and sweet while the no-jito mocktail was more sour. The staff was warm and friendly and the vibe was very laid back and welcoming. Seems like a very community oriented space, as a video game tournament was taking place while there.

One of my favorite places in charlotte to bring out of town friends on a cold, rainy day! Even on summer when it's too hot to be outside. The dark cool interior is loaded with video games, 80s-90s nostalgia, fun art, pinball, and great drinks. They have food trucks sometimes but the homemade hot pocket is delicious and filling for $8! The bartenders and workers are so nice and helpful. I love stepping out in the back patio if I need a break from all the funky lights.

Great place to hang out and play all types of old school arcade games. Lots of pin ball machines as well. Parking can be dicey but worth the struggle. No need to bring your own quarters since you have to get special coins to use the games. TIP: NEED AN ID TO GET IN.

Welcome back Abari! I was sooooo excited to check out their brand new location so we took a weekday evening trip and had TOO much fun. So, this spot is located near-ish to Uptown and if you go at night you might drive right past it lol. We definitely did, and had to turn around and come back. There's a few parking spots right where the building is located, but not many and they were all taken so we were exiting the lot to look for street parking and happened to see a very dark parking lot directly across the street. The lot looks like a makeshift lot for overflow so there are no lights at all. I'm sure they will eventually get some, just a heads up because it's hard to even see the lot at night and then getting out of the car was dark. So, just be careful. But I was very happy the lot was there, parking is becoming such an issue in the city. On to the fun stuff!!!! We walked in and I felt like a big ole kid again. As soon as you walk in there's some seating and a cool looking bar. There was a "bouncer" at the door checking ID and getting folks memberships. He was cool and it went quick. From the front door you can see this gigantic Gameboy on the wall that you can actually play. I need one for my house now lol. You can also look out and sort of get an aerial view of all the arcade games because they are located downstairs. This place was so fun. We played a bunch of games and I won pretty much all of them of course LOL. Had way too much beer, but it made for the best time. OMG, the beer was "Birdsong Hazy sexy cool IPA" and I'm officially obsessed with it, soooooo sooooo good! Shoutout #Birdsong Brewery. Games were legit $.25 to play, which is amazing! Other arcade spots charge way more I feel. This pricing was so great because it allowed us time to really play and have a great time!!! The vibes were amazing, staff was cool and helpful and there's just so much dope stuff in there to see and play. Probably going back this weekend, just saying Loved my time there!

Where do I start? This was probably my best experience at a video game bar. I have been to Boxcar in Greensboro, and some other spots in southend in Charlotte. This surpasses the others in my opinion. I would like to emphasize that I went on a Sunday night. So it was not busy. I am very happy I went. I got a great feel for the location, and staff. I had been wanting to visit Abari before covid. I was a teenager unfortunately. Now at 23, I went on a double date here. My friends were out of towners and I am so happy I chose this place. If you are looking for niche, popular, or just overall any kind of fun arcade game this is your place. My boyfriend and I are fans of Jojos Bizarre Adventure and they had a machine with a fighting game on it. The music was decent. I feel like there were enough games for people to try and enjoy. I will say they have great deals and specialties. If you go on certain days you can get certain alcoholic drinks for a specific price. We went on Sunday so they had $6 Tito's. My friends got the breakfast shot, which consisted of whiskey, a maple liqueur (if I am correct), and orange juice (def try it before you knock it). My boyfriend got a mango liquid death. I got the Charizard Chimney. Unfortunately I did not enjoy it because of the mezcal. It was my first time trying it, I did not know what mezcal was. The bartenders were super insightful, had playful banter. Great sports. I got a Mexican Mule, which is usually my go to. I will be coming back, and I will def try the other drinks on the menu. I think this bar would be great for first time drinkers. It would be great for a chill date, or even for friends on a Friday night. The bathrooms are so clean. They have drink holders which I thought was weird. The decorations and the interior design is so freaking dope. I loved the layout. They have seating areas inside and also a patio. I would avoid the patio if you are adverse to smoke from cigarettes. The only con I will say is it's location. On a Friday or Saturday it can get packed quickly. So make sure you go a bit earlier than normal to get a good parking spot. They offer many events. They are going to have a skateboarding event soon. I implore you to check it out!

functional and slightly poshed-up bar top-side on the left coming in with a broad stairway leading down to the game room - access is available to the east. two rows of pinball centerly plus a few more along the wall with video games everywhere else. pinballs operate on tokens (4/$1.00 from dispensers on the wall: cash or card, look suspiciously like quarters in the dark so be careful) and most machines are two per play, some with an option for BOGOHO on 2-pack purchases. I've never been big on video gaming, or tournaments, or video game tournaments... but always game for pinballery (unless it's a tournament.) I don't care much about themes sine it's usually some pop-culture reference that doesn't include me - what I want are clearly defined objectives and useful rewards thank you very much. that being said most of the machines are newer with ramps and captures and moving targets and some have a bit of video interaction as well... please remove the pixels from my pinball. it's like jelly on steamed cabbage: sure you can, but why?? I've been in a couple times and should like this place better but I don't... it used to be the herds of adolescents being loudly and exactly wrong about nearly every thing silver and bally or super and heroic or godzillish... they're not around anymore but it still kinda misses :-\

Had such a great time here! This was my first time coming to the newer location, and I must say that I definitely enjoyed this location better than the last location they were previously. This space is much bigger and more organized, I feel. It didn't feel so cramped. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a bar and then a couch where you can play games on PS4 or Xbox. We played a few rounds of Mario Kart and loved it! There are some stairs that leas you down to the arcade. You have to purchase tokens to be able to play the games. The games only require either 1 or 2 tokens each, so you will definitely get your money's worth. They even have a few games that are "free play," which basically means it's free, and you just hot on and start playing. Came on a Saturday night around 8 pm, and it was not busy yet. They have parking around the building, but if it gets full, they do have free parking across the street on an empty lot. They did have a taco truck right outside, and you could order food and bring it inside and eat. They do have 2 tables you can sit at and enjoy your drinks and food. Overall, it was a great experience and will return. It is a great place to bring kids during the weekend from 12-6pm.

Great selection of pinball and retro arcade cabinets; even some imports from Japan. Amazing staff who know their stuff and love all things beer and gaming! Highly recommend for people out of town or a chill night out.

Too much fun to be had by one person here. Yelling at Pinball tables is my new past time and trying to learn how to be 1 percent smarter than a machine is harder than I expected here but it's my idea of Heaven. PBR draft and $10 in coins can wash away any bad day I've ever had. Stay away from Twilight Zone. I think it hates me and might have the same issue with you.

They have a cute and comfy outdoor space! Lots of fun old school games with lots of space!

Drinks were pricey so we didn't indulge, but it makes sense since the pinball is only priced at 50 cents a play.

The food trucks outside are always a nice bonus, but the real draw is the atmosphere and games inside. Duckpin bowling is a blast, the place stays busy with great music and a lively crowd but never feels chaotic, and the staff does a great job checking in and making sure everyone's good. The restrooms are clean too, which says a lot for a place this big and popular. Parking isn't great, but that's just South End for you. Overall, this is consistently a 5/5 Charlotte hotspot.

I saw the huge slide that they have for adults outside on TikTok and thought I might give it a twirl. The environment was awesome, the inside was pretty clean. They have fire pits, huge tvs, bowling, anything you can think of, the ambiance is pretty great and the service was also pretty nice as the bartenders were very attentive. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the extra "holiday tip charge" which I believe was only 2% but they added it I guess to pay for the ambiance and maybe decorations, I'm not sure. I'm a big tipper and have no problem tipping, that's the only thing about this experience I didn't appreciate. Other than that, it was nice, didn't order any food so I can't speak too much about that but the drinks were delightful.

We only knew our lanes were available when I went to check in on them. And while the online ordering system is great, it's pretty sporadic. We received 2/3 of the drinks from the same order (the one missing being a beer so likely the easiest to compile), which the bar was happy to give us as soon as we went to it, so I do wish I had just ordered at the bar. The bar staff were super friendly and attentive. We grabbed a pizza which was fine but I did appreciate the plates/cutter/etc that it came with making it easy to distribute. The location is great, easily walkable if you're in the area. And the wait time for two lanes itself was maybe 10 minutes on a Friday night, so definitely pretty accessible. I do wish there were a rack of available balls, as our lanes had a random variety of weights with no discernible rhyme or reason. They were out of socks the night we went, which is partly our fault for not wearing socks to go bowling.

As there were 20+ of us, we reserved 5 lines and planned for the full food catering with drink tickets for all. As I was helping to coordinate, I arrived right on time and found the check in process to be easy. Once we were shown to our lanes, I was excited as the place looked fun. Our waitress quickly walked up to me and asked if she could get me a drink to which I asked for an Iced Tea. She then asked if I meant a long island iced tea to which I said, no a regular unsweetened iced tea. She quickly shot that down and told me they didn't have that. When I then asked what non-alcoholic options they had, she told me that they didn't have any and I'd have to either get water or order a drink and just ask for light alcohol which is ridiculous. I walked up to the bar myself to ask a bartender and was luckily helped. Once the food package started to come out, I think we were all disappointed in the quality of the food. Many of the options had to be sent back from either being cold or just being so terrible they don't meet a basic acceptance criteria. The manager ended up coming out to apologize to our group for all of the issues and worked to make things right. The venue itself is fun and could be great but a lot of work needs to be done around service and quality of food. Until these fixed happened, I wouldn't be back.
