I came here with my family to spend my birthday being a kid. We played arcade games and laser tag. They also offer bowling and escape rooms (but we didn't do those activities). It was my first time playing laser tag. You can play with people in your group but also have the option to allow other people in your session. Think you can have up to 20 people playing at a time. You can play in teams or individually. The laser gun keeps track of your hits and ranks everyone at the end of the game. The game lasts 10 mins. At first I thought, 10 minutes?! was way too short for the amount of money we paid for one session. But when you're running around on the course, 10 minutes is sufficient. It was fun and sweaty lol. To begin I would like to state that I am a laser tag enthusiast, at least once a month I go to a known or new place to play and unwind. This is what drew me to this location, despite the two hour drive. I did have a wonderful time playing, however things took an ugly turn. Due to a discrepancy I paid for a game I had yet to play, instead of being allowed to play this prepaid game the employee's attitude became more rude than before. He clearly didn't want to be there in the first place, but now my existence openly bothered him. I asked to join multiple games and suddenly new rules emerged that weren't there an hour or so before. 'You can't play in that one, too many kids.' 'They reserved this.' And so on. I understand that games can be reserved however I was promised a spot in that game and at the last second was turned away. I finally gave up, let the place keep my money, and returned home. With time to reflect I can say that I've never been treated so rudely in all my years of frequenting laser tag establishments, the disdain and thinly veiled annoyance was truly unprofessional and insulting. I dropped nearly $100 last night at this place and would have returned back with a group or suggested it to others, but after such poor customer service I wouldn't wish this foul behavior on anyone. Others who are more local may wish to come here and that's fine, the rest of the staff were superb and well mannered and the place was clean and quite busy. However if you do go avoid Dyonne if he's at the laser tag counter his poor customer service skills and severe lack of training will put a damper on your otherwise great night. Edit: the general manager reached out and apologized for the behavior of the individual at the desk, this is very good management and I couldn't be more pleased to hear this is not how they run their business just an employee with a chip on his shoulder. read more

It was our first time there bowling.We had a very good time.The place was clean.The staff was nice and our appetizers were very good.We bowled for 2hrs. It was almost five and he gave us the five p m special.So that was very nice of him.I had a drink called the purple rain and it was delicious and the right amount of alcohol I will return there again. First things first... Destiny is amazing. When we arrived she greeted us with a smile. We had a party of 9 and she ensured we choose the right bowling package to fit our groups needs. Her overall customer service was so appreciative. We got some food to snack on and everything was good. Fun family atmosphere. If I had more time I would loved to try the escape rooms. Spare Time is a great place to have some awesome fun with family and friends. Walking in and we were greeted by the employee at the counter. We asked him about the specials they had and he was very helpful. Got the special and our bowling shoes and proceeded to our lane. We were all having a good time bowling and enjoying each other's company. Employee at the counter gave great customer service, five stars. We needed some snacks and drinks so I headed over to the bar area to see what they had. I was so disappointed with the service here. There were two employees helping customers so we waited for our turn. Once they were done both of them walked away and began a conversation to the side of the bar. No problem, I thought, they will help us soon. Waited patiently and they clearly saw us waiting but continued their conversation. I was getting a bit annoyed and asked if someone could help us. They said they would bring right with us and began talking secretly to each other and covered their faces. By this time I was not happy with the service they were giving us. FINALLY, placed our order and thought wow that was expensive but I knew it would not be cheap. Our food came out and I immediately understood why. I asked for a SLICE of cheese pizza and he gave me a WHOLE cheese pizza. So this tells me that they were not LISTENING to what I was saying, ugggg. I did not know this used to be Dicks! Kind of hard to find. I passed it. It's a nice clean place. I was concerned when I arrived and I saw security at the door. This place has bowling, arcade games, restaurants, and escape rooms. I was in the Elite room with a private group. Our server told us that the bar was out of a good bit of things to make drinks. I nibbled on a couple of things. Brussel sprouts and nachos were decent. I didn't bowl because I could fund a ball I was comfortable with. Either the holes were too tight or to big. I may come back with the grandbabies to have some fun. read more

Took my baby cousins here & we had a great time. They have bowling and an arcade. I have two issues. The man issues is that many of their games need to be serviced. There were quite a few games that were not working properly. My second issues isn't that big but I wish you could purchase items from place you turn in tickets from. read more

I wouldn't have written a review and let some of the disappointment we experienced slide. However, the manager chose pettiness. At the restaurant in spare time we all split payment on a meal. We could tell the server was struggling a bit with our receipts and cards. I checked my account and saw I was double charged for my part of the meal and drink on top of my friend's meal and drink. This was only $13, but you still take it up with a business when they double charge you. The woman I spoke with was very nice and did call me back promptly with an update. She told me our "tab" was open all the way to almost closing time, HOURS. We paid and left the restaurant very early on in the evening. So this tells me the server either forgot to close it out or was just confused. That was an opportunity for more erroneous things to be done on our tab. In the follow up call I was told the manager wouldn't refund me unless my friend called to have her own card charged $13. Really? You are not a struggling small business, and you're being petty about $13. I have never experienced and everyone I asked said they have never experienced a business doing this. I don't make a big deal about $13 among friends. But a bustling business that served bad food, had a confused server, kept our tab open for hours without our consent, and inconvenienced me in that I had to take time to figure out what was happening with my checking account then call them during my work day, deserves a terrible review. So now they've forced me to lay out this next part. The drinks were poor (watery and flavorless), the "bang bang shrimp" was bad (chalky, the supposed crunchiness was more like grittiness, tiny shrimp drowned in batter to make them seem big, flavorless without a "bang"). But it is ultimately just a bowling alley. Have your $13, cheapsakes LOL. But you can also have the truth about your practices put out there. read more

I did the Cryosleep Escape Room with two other people. I won't give anything away but it was undeniably the worst escape room we've ever done. In the most indifferent way possible, the employee gave us what we thought was information important for game play (Nope). Once we began, we were not having much luck. It later turned out the reason for our impasse was because things just didn't work. I can only assume the person behind the control room pays little attention to the players as we asked for hints that turned out to be things just didn't open when we solved a checkpoint. Once, when we asked for a hint she asked if we'd already done X, something we had done minutes before. So, we had to catch them up. For me, the amount of things not functioning and the lackadaisical attention from the staff made it very hard to ever know what to do when you're stuck. Normally, you'd assume you just haven't figured out the next step. In this room, you don't know if it's you and your fellow players, or just the broken game. We probably wasted at least 20% of our countdown time trying to figure something out when really we just had not been given the new information due to faulty equipment. We keep going and then suddenly we won the game...without using 75% of the space in the room, not using obvious gameplay areas/buttons. We leave the room more confused than ever. We won? How? There was nobody present to greet you outside the room, nobody at the pre-game meeting spot. I go to the front desk and try to get someone who can talk to us about the room as to what was puzzle, what was error, and why we didn't use certain areas. We stood and looked at two employees who were just standing behind the desk until we hear, "I'll take care of them." Feeling special, this person listened to me tell them we wanted to talk to someone about the room. They told us they don't know much about them but goes over to where the indifferent employee was, came back to us as a middle-man and explained (we think) that the game was modified because we only had 3 people...the game is rated for 2-6 players with no stipulations about how the game gets worse if you don't have at least 4 players. So, we didn't do a lot of the puzzle and were not told prior to game start. Even better, the information the indifferent employee gave us when we entered the room was not applicable to our gameplay at all. The door it would unlock was already open for us. The experience ensured that we will not be back, not take our children, not recommend the place to anyone we like, and the sugar on top was that we gave them a wide open chance to fix it and they looked at us and told us that it's been a crazy day. While we do understand how things can go, they offered nothing but that as an excuse and told us we could go ask to speak to the General Manager to see if there was a way to bring us back. I told them that is up to them if they wanted to extend that effort. They did not. If you like escape rooms, go to one of the venues that does escape rooms only. They generally have a very active part in the game designs, customer satisfaction, and make sure things run smoothly. read more

I recently moved to the area and was having family in town to celebrate a birthday, so I was excited to find Spare Time as a place to go have some fun. There's a large parking lot, and the Establishment is spacious, clean, and more upscale than your everyday bowling alley or arcade. We went primarily for a game of laser tag, and we're happy to see that it wasn't just children that come (we are in our 30s). The price is good, and around is 10 minutes. I do wish that the instructions were a little clearer and that the staff explained the that there was a Nexus or how to use it. There were only seven of us playing, which was enough for the space. There were several more bags/guns available, but I think too many more would have made it too crowded inside. It would be nice if was an upstairs as well but I thought it was a great experience for the seven of us. The arcade has newer and more innovative games so we had a good time playing together as a group. I also appreciated that there were a good amount of group games to choose from. We didn't try any food or any of the other events, but I do hope to come back to try the escape room as well as bowling one day. read more

Food is decent for a kids/family bowling alley, but the service is still so lacking. Even on a quiet afternoon - it seemed so poorly run. Everything was just slow - even trying to get someone to take drink orders at the lanes. The server that finally came over said "you'd be better off ordering from the bar" - so we did and then the bartender told us we weren't allowed to do that. Again, it's a fun place, with multiple activity spaces, I just wished the place ran better. Also, don't get the fried pickles - very little amount of pickles for the cost, and they tasted more like salt than a pickle. read more

This place is soooo fun! From bowling, to escape rooms, laser tag, and video games galore! Even the prizes you can win from the tickets earned are fun! The food choices are really good and are great options for parties and hanging out with friends. We came here just for fun, to hang out with friends, and then a few times to celebrate the kids' birthdays. The staff at this location has always been pretty nice and helpful! You don't see that at many places where it gets loud like it does here! There should be more Spare Time locations! read more

I was such a hot mess planning for my son's party! I did everything last minute. The staff at the front party counter were soo nice and so helpful! A lot of places like this have young kids and it can be difficult getting good service. But the team was knowledgeable, soo kind and extremely helpful! They need to fix their points on arcade games. They only gave me 335 points after all the games I won, I even won the jackpot on the spin a wheel and yet only got 20 points for it. Also the food is expensive and the cost of the hour age like 80 dollars for 1.5 hours? Hell no. Never coming back and I'm gonna be telling everyone that nobody should come here. read more

We got here at 9pm on a Sunday and they were closed for bowling. The closing time is 11pm so that was slightly frustrating but my family and I played laser tag which was sooo much fun. We had a blast. We ordered the spare time Sundae for $15 and worth the money. The top shelf LIT was $13. There is a bit of a wait at the bar but overall the drinks are worth it. We didn't receive our drinks until 50 minutes after we sat down. We didn't receive one single refill on our waters (without calling for someone other than our server) in an hour and a half. This place is huge. So many activities and lots of potential to have a good time with friends and family. The customer service with friendly, welcoming and positive attitudes was just NOT there though. As for the food, I ordered the sampler platter and the Cheese sticks and sliders were kind of cold. The bartender was nice but just not a great feeling when you go with a group to have a good time and let down due to the unwelcoming service you get when you first walk in. The manager was nice also (we did not complain about our experience to him) He did let us know about some AC units being out (it did get kind of toasty) but overall we still had a good time since we made the best of it. This place is new to this area. Maybe opened a few months ago in Pineville, if that. It's pretty hidden on Pineville Mathews across from Carolina mall & behind the Office Depot. We are in a time of pandemic and people don't want to work, however, train up the ones you DO have. No reason it has to work this way. The man at the front door last night doesn't speak when people come in. He literally just kept pointing at us and signaling with his hands as if he was holding a card. Wasn't until we saw the wrist bands we saw he wanted ID. Sir, just speak. You're a host and you're sitting and not speaking. He should not he front house staff. Eventually he talks when I tell my friend I'm starving and tells us to sit at the eatery section straight ahead as service is "faster" due to kitchen being right there. Well false. Not only was it slow, service was bad. Even with the manager. We sat in the area. Took a little and then a kid was our server. Took our drinks. My friend order two alcoholic beverages. And I got one. So the manager was the one to bring them out. And he says oh you can't get both drinks so we will sit this one at the bar. So why haven't you trained your employees on that because he let her order the two. His response is the kid isn't 21 yet. Well maybe train him or put him on games sir. Then, no one returns to take food orders. Literally. So we flag down the manager after 15 min (it's dead in here. DEAD Bc no one knows it's here yet). Manager takes our orders and first proceeds to say no wings and we can't sub the platter. Soooo?? Then he goes to check and says oh we do have wings. Great. So we order sampler platters. And etc. Our actual waiter comes back well after that, walks by, then backs up like "oh y'all wanna order food?" Uuuhh ya think?! We're like nah we had to ask the manager Food comes. We dig in. Pretty tasty I assume but I was starving. Nothing special. Just regular bar like eats. Same as Dave N Busters or etc. Brussels drenched in sauce so they look crispy but were soft due to excess sauce We let the manager know we will not be taking the drink he sat at the bar Bc who knows who been all over it by now. I ordered another drink, never got put in. That was annoying. Just check please Bc we ready to go. Game area is tiny. Plenty of overpriced bowling lanes tho. It's cute in there but customer service is not it. Again, yes it's a pandemic and the only people wanting to work are teens, but you CAN train people. First of all, I want to thank Micheal, Anna and Shahia for being so welcoming and sweet. Anna was the host, Shahia was my waitress in the resteraunt, and Micheal was in the game room prize section. Secondly, I didn't think that I would get full off of the wings and a salad but I did. And the tea was tasty too. The facility was brand new and the bowling alley was larger than Dave and Busters. Wonderfully chaotic. Has all the things you need for a fun date night or to get the family out for fun. We had a BLAST! Games are reasonably priced for a Saturday night ($1.50/game per person for most games) They have escape rooms, a bar & grill, another bar, laser tag and bowling. It seems better to book bowling beforehand as there was a 2 hour wait time. I suppose even if you wait there's a lot of fun things to do to kill time. The food was surprisingly really really good. They are very understaffed but you can tell the current employees are doing their best one customer at a time - which is admirable. Games (some, not all): air hockey, basketball games, various racing games:motor cycles and cars, shooting games: tomb raider, walking dead, halo, transformers etc They have games for the little humans as well. The venue is very nice and has a little bit of everything for a big kid at heart. I was there for a friends special day and there were some miscommunications from the event planner to our party. When we went for the escape room they told us we missed our time for the escape room but in the email we were on time.
