Snowboard

Dropped off my snowboard to get it waxed and they never called me to tell me it's ready, I had to call and ask them if it was ready and guess what, It was. When I got home I looked at my snowboard and they damaged it!! Can't tell much in the pictures but the top part looks like it was cut and it's peeling from the surface.

I learn faster with practical applications and tutors. Tutors with hooters is even more fun. Hahahaha. I got some snowboard socks which go above the calf which I love and got a rain jacket windbreaker and sweatpants today. The jacket reminds me of my Annapolis Maryland home since it is the sailing capital of the world and the Naval Academy is there. Looks like a good jacket for sailing on cool days. And save yourself some money and frustration. The owner, Eric, is legit. He had the gear I needed for a guy my size: 170 ultra wide snowboard, size 15 boots and XL rear entry bindings (can be hard to find even online), and he beat the online price. However, after trying on the size 15 boots I thought I wanted (based on advertisements and reviews), I found the boots to be uncomfortable. Eric pulled out another model boot, but in size 14, and they were way more comfortable. They also fit in the rear entry bindings a lot better. Had I bought the gear I initially wanted online, I would have been stuck with boots that did not fit my foot right, and did not fit my bindings. Then I would have been stuck dealing with the return process, just to take another stab in the dark to try to find boots that would "hopefully" fit me and my bindings. After picking out my gear, Eric lined me up with the board and mounted my bindings based on my size and stance. He then heat fitted my boots. This was all done at no extra charge as it was included with the purchase. On a personal note, I enjoyed being in the shop. Eric spoke to me like we were old friends. He didn't rush me at all, and I was in there for a few hours while we picked out gear, mounted the bindings, heat fitted the boots and spent a lot of time just BS'ing. "Ma and Pop" shops are a dying breed, and so is the customer service that goes along with them. Don't be just another number to a billionaire dot-com that just wants your money and doesn't give a $&!@ about how your gear works for you. Go see people like Eric, who are the real deal, and love what they do. It was truly an enjoyable experience!

Don't do it or be prepared to encounter craziness and some arbitrary charges on your credit card…read more This shop is stuffed (and perhaps run and owned??!!, not sure) by a crazy, unbalanced person, who is also a swindler. I have been a customer of this establishment for many years, renting a lot of equipment out. And the person behind the counter has lost completely his marbles. Detail In order to rent the equipment, you need to leave a credit card and a copy of the driver license or a driver license as a collateral. So as you can see, their equipment is very safe from being taken from them. At the same time although they open very early (way before the resort does), they close at 5pm, mere 30 minutes after the resort closing time. So, as you can imagine, this makes for a very frantic and hectic day close to be able to return the equipment on time. I rented some gear for two days and some gear for one day. At the end of the first day, I fell and injured my hand. So doing, everything became much slower than usual and being with the child and equipment, while parked pretty far, meant that getting out. As a result, I was late getting to the rental place by 30 minutes. Since, I had other equipment out and paid for two days and the place officially closes pretty early, I didn't even think of attempting to stop by and just thought that I would sort it out the next day. Also, as we were driving by, I saw all the cars gone and the doors closed at around 5:35 or so. When I came the next early morning (before the resort opens at 9am) with all their gear, he first made me intentionally wait for about 15 mins. Then, all of a sudden without any explanation, he threw my card to me and told me that I would no longer be able to rent from his establishment. My child got scared and ran out from the store. I was completely stunned and baffled by his behavior and after my repeated attempts to pry out some sort of an explanation of his utterly unhinged behavior in front of other customers I was able to glean some amount of information. As a result of all this, we were late to my child's class that morning. Had I known this, I would course never bother to try to come and return their equipment as early as possible. When I came home, I discovered that he charged the card I left with him with some arbitrary fees (several times the amount it should have been charged as a late penalty per their own contract), just out of his spitefulness, without even telling me so, an invoice or an explanation of the charges.

It was very cost effective and IMO it works incredibly well for families with growing children. "Best Footwear Experience--Ask for Steve!"…read more I've been to countless running and shoe stores over the years, but my experience at the Campbell Sports Basement was on an entirely different level. If you are looking for new shoes, do yourself a favor and find Steve in the footwear department. His knowledge is genuinely unmatched. He didn't just point me to the newest or most expensive model; he took the time to understand the mechanics of my feet and explain the nuances of every shoe we discussed. He even had me running down the aisles in various pairs to ensure the fit and feel were perfect. It was easily the best customer service I've ever had, better than some shoe speciality shop! To top it off, I found out about their "Love Your Purchase" return policy. It's a total game-changer--knowing I can actually test these out and bring them back if they don't work for my feet gives me so much peace of mind. Between Steve's expertise and the store's return policy, I won't be going anywhere else for my gear.
